Served a purpose but was a bit disappointing. Food and drink are very overpriced, no atmosphere and the restaurant was cold. Food tasted ok, but nothing special.

Arrived an hour early for afternoon tea. This was not a problem for the lovely staff. Afternoon tea wes lovely, very fresh, good choice of sandwich, fruit scone with clotted cream and jam, quiche ( cheese and tomato) left the best for last Victoria sponge carrot cake and chocolate brownie and a small bottle of prosecco. Great value for money.

We were really looking forward to this meal having viewed the menu, we wanted to low key review the place as a potential Wedding venue. The service was poor we waited 20minutes for our drinks and had to ask twice. The starters were fine. The burger was hard and inedible, the duck was not rendered and way over cooked. We asked for the bill yet still had to follow up and pay at the counter. Not one person during our whole stay asked if we enjoyed it other that the events manager.. rule 1 of customer service is surely ask if it’s ok.

Food was lovely although waiters were a mess. Setting was terrible sat in a cold conservatory with smooth radio station on. Not the ideal setting based on the expensive menu.

Staff pleasant and make sure everything is ok. Food portion was good, nice and hot. Food was tasty, only downfall I had the beef and it was thinly cut and too well done, so it was tough. Overall good though. Breakfast the next morning was nice, again stayed hot, plenty choice of continental, cooked, drinks and jams etc. Was nice and quiet period so wasn't rushed. Maybe a bit of quiet, chilled music would be nice, as was a bit quiet.

There was a lot of choice on the menu and everything sounded lovely. We weren't disappointed. The food was delicious. I had the sticky toffee pudding for desert and it was heaven on a plate! The staff were attentive, friendly and couldn't have done more. We are already planning our next visit.

Arrived at the hotel greeted by a lovely receptionist . However her directions for the room were not specific enough and we spent a while looking for our room . Room we thought was basic even though we upgraded No toiletries which we thought was standard in a hotel of 3 star. Treatments were lovely and the therapist Cath was very nice. Asked for coffee after this and was told machine was broken and I could get on over at the hotel . I didn't like walking through the changing rooms though. What if someone was getting undressed? Walking into meal very dim lights . When asked to put lamp on beat us we were told it didn't work and neither did the chandkier! With someone with limited eye sight this was very emotional as couldn't see the menu and had to put my light on my phone . We were apologised to but ... Anyway food was very nice . No issues however they were very quick to serve three courses . Sleep was ok however a private party was going on till after midnight . We would of liked to be told this to make us aware of this. Breakfast was amazing . Can't fault it at all . A very mixed response to my break away.

Food in oswalds restaurant on the evening was lovely especially the duck. Had a good choice at breakfast. Continental and full English. Spa and hotel was a bit dated. But for the deal we got with groupon it was good for the price.
