Originally The Raj on Keddleston Road, now opened in Park Farm Allestree in a beautiful new restaurant. Went with my family a couple of days after the new venue opened - An excellent atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and food as excellent as it has always been. Definitely our favourite Indian restaurant (and we have tried many all over the UK).

We made our first visit to The Brooklyn Social last night. Our table for 5 had been booked well in advance. First impressions were great, brilliant interior, buzzing atmosphere....everything set for a good night. The table was small, adequate for 4 people only but we let that go. On to ordering the drinks.... Beer was good so the men in the party were happy, ladies not so. We were told there was no chilled Sauvignon ....ok we'll have Pinot Grigio....the waiter then proceeded to inform us that they hadn't actually got any Wine....they might have Prosecco but it might not be cold,,, in the end we opted for Prosecco which was reasonably chilled. After a long wait for food the waiter returned to inform us there had been an issue with getting our order to the kitchen.....the waiter then had to take the order for a second time. Eventually it arrived and was very nice..... The size of the table was an issue as we were juggling dishes, glasses etc around. We were given a complimentary round of drinks and the bill was discounted for our poor experience but. The point is you only have one chance to make a first impression and last night was shambolic.

I never leave reviews, but this food was so stale and tasted like it had been sitting around in the kitchen for hours before they served me. Do not waste your money, go anywhere else, honestly for the price they charge the crap you get is not worth it. I once went to a gala bingo hall which served equivalent food, worth mentioning that food came free with the entrance fee. (No offence to anyone who likes food served in gala bingo halls) Such a shame because I have been to other Eds Diners in Birmingham and London and they were really good.

Group of 5 of us went here whilst visiting Glossop and all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Presentation was beautiful, friendly service and 5 empty plates.

I recently visited the Lockeeper Chesterfield, we has a two meals for £10.00 offer and found the food very good and well presented, also we had a drinks refill offer where you can fill up as many times as you like, as I was eating my meal the waitress offered to fill up my glass as I was eating my meal. The staff were very helpfull and asked if ouu meal was ok We will definitely go again and try the all you can eat specials..

We had a lovely stay at the Queen's Arms, thanks to Gary and Lynda. The room was spacious, the bathroom was clean and modern, the welcome warm and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, and all the more enjoyable for myself, as unexpectedly, Lynda supplied gluten free alternatives when she realised that I had Coeliac disease. A big thank you. Regards, Carole.

Disgusting customer service and food place is always dirty in the childrens area nappy bins overflowing! Managers attitude was discraceful allowing a woman to shout, swear and threaten myself in front of little children. If you want bad food and terrible customer service this is definitely the place to go

I am a Coventry man, I was introduced to the "Fisherman's Rest" by my Lady friend from Ambergate. We are not pub/club people and went there initially for a meal We loved it. The food was very good and so was the beer. When we are in Derbyshire it has become our local. We enjoy the Monday Quiz nights and also the recent Burns Eve night when we had Haggis, Tatties and neaps with a wee dram of single malt with black bun pudding to gfinish, it was a greaf night with a Scottish flavoured quiz too. David and his mum and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. We recently heard that the Fisherman.s is up for sale (we are back in Coventry at the Moment). We also read David's article on the web about it now being a safe place to eat after the previous owners letting it go. we were very upset and sorry for David and his mum who have spent so much time and money to make it a success, We hope that the present difficulties will soon be over and they can carry on . We will miss them so much. John Barlow and Margaret Green
