Visited sunday for a roast and couldn't fault it. Staff was amazing, food was amazing aswell. Highly recommended.

Staff were mostly nice and food was decent. Unfortunately, we were sat in close proximity to two obnoxious guests who took issue when our dog barked-making rude comments and staring at my wife . They were also very loud, using foul language regularly and generally hating on people . This experience made us uncomfortable for the duration of our meal. For clarity, I didn’t complain to staff. But as one (a young man) had made a dismissive comment about our dog along with the 2 guests when we entered, i didn’t feel confident in doing so.

Lovely food as usual -roast dinners had beef and lamb -all meals were plentiful and tasty with great service -would like to have had a dessert but couldn’t manage it -even had some great treats for our dog

I had fish & chips and it was super: cruncy and good flavor. The Sunday roast were also very attractive. Good service and clean site. Nice area also to sit outside

Visited here to eat on Saturday 21/01/2026. Booked in advance to be sure of a table for our party of four. Were given a great table in the window. Food was served very quickly and was excellent. The atmosphere and service was very good. I didn't feel that it was too expensive and was certainly happy that I received value for money. I have visited The Owl in the past and will definitely do so in the future!

The owl is a local pub and we have eaten in there numerous times, we booked a table no problem, was quiet in there but was a tues tea time. They didn't have any pork belly, so I had the fish chips and mushy peas, the fish is always large and good, small amount of chips and a tiny pot of mushy peas, so you end up with masses of fish left and nothing to eat ut with. My husband has the lamb shepherd pie with veg, it had little meat in it no gravy so was dry, he said it was the worst meal he had in there which was a shame. Don't know if they are trying to cut costs but I would rather pay more and have a decent size meal, it's not cheap anyway as you would expect I suppose. I'm all for supporting local businesses especially at this time but was a little disappointed.

Sunday 18.01.2026 We visited to celebrate my partner's birthday, and the whole experience was outstanding from start to finish. Our waitress, Iris, was superb; she immediately recognised my brother’s cognitive disability and instinctively adapted her approach, ensuring his order was customised exactly to his needs. That level of understanding and respect made a real difference to our evening. The food was excellent, with generous portions and very high quality across all dishes. What really set the night apart, though, was the thoughtful extra touch: the team surprised Gill with a small chocolate cake complete with a birthday candle. It was a simple gesture, but it meant a great deal and showed how much they go above and beyond for their guests. A genuinely memorable visit. We’ll definitely be returning

Our first visit to The Owl and we were very impressed. Two of our party are vegetarian and they were very happy with the options available. The food was delicious and of generous portions. The Staff are very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back. An added bonus is that this is a dog friendly pub and our pooch was made very welcome. Highly recommend.

I came with friends to the Owl for my birthday (13th Jan) we had such a lovely time the food was excellent. The staff were lovely. We did go early in the week so it was quieter which we didn’t mind atmosphere was lovely still. I have eaten in the owl many times before and always enjoyed the food. Another bonus it’s dog friendly. We will be back.

Had a lovely christmas meal at The Owl. It was easy to pre order over the phone. The atmosphere was very festive. Food came very quickly. Food portions were huge! We couldn’t finish the mains and dessert and felt it was a little wasteful. Would come back again.

Had a most pleasant afternoon at the Owl for a birthday. Had a nice table surrounded by decorations for Christmas that created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The food selection is good and well priced. We had several roasts and think they may need larger plates to accommodate the Yorksire. Service was attentive and very friendly. Been here a number of times over the years (when dont get lost) and always a pleasure, especially outside in the summer. Certainly will be returning soon.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Excellent service. Nice, friendly waitress. Warm, cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend it.

We have had many lunches at The Owl, it's ideally located for lovely walks in Epping Forest and has a small kids playground for the kids to burn off steam before or after lunch. Sunday lunches there are superb, served quickly and decent sized with great gravy, a marker of a good roast dinner. The kids portions are generous. Saturday menu is varied and really great too!
