Staff are lovely and so is the pub, food is presented well and good value. I would only say it was simple! Jacket potato was not oven baked Tuna and onion is just that tuna a lot of mayo with chunky slices of onion. I feel they need to tweak what they are serving and add some flavour. I would go back but wouldn’t rush!

An ideal place for three friends meeting for a mid week catch up and enjoy quality dining in very pleasant surroundings. Attentive friendly staff with a well balanced menu which was cooked to perfection. Have dined there a few times and will continue to do so.

Great food as always. Ordered less than usual but still left full as the portions, especially on the bbq plates, are decent. Waiter was friendly and informative had a nice chat as it was early and a bit quiet, but they never bother you in here which I like. A forever favourite!

Our first visit to The Barn Garden Centre Cafe and both feel we have found a new place for breakfasts/Lunches. The breakfast was great and I think I have found in the area one of the best places to have breakfast. Thank you

We booked for Monday 1.30pm lunch and I’m so glad we did. The restaurant was absolutely heaving and how those poor waitresses and cooks copped I have no idea. They all seemed to be running around like headless chickens but were all still amazing and polite and very helpful. The meals when we finally got them were great and can’t fault the chefs. It would be great if the numbers were limited a bit more so they could cope and also the menu doesn’t seem to change and could do with a complete update perhaps.

Overall very nice tasty meals, however we were a large party and had a couple of issues with luke warm food. Would definitely go again though.

We recently had a delightful lunch to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday, surrounded by cherished friends and family. Joining us were my oldest school friend, her lovely daughter, and both our mums. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and laughter as we reminisced about old times and created new memories. The restaurant provided a cozy and inviting ambiance, perfect for our special celebration. The staff were incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The menu was a hit with everyone. Some of Us had the Caesar salad, which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of dressing, the pork and cider pie was a hearty delight, with tender meat and a rich, flavorful gravy that complemented the crust beautifully. The cheese and red onion jacket potato was a comforting choice, with the creamy cheese and sweet onion melding together wonderfully (its a firm favourite!). Each dish was perfectly prepared and added to the joy of our gathering. The presentation was lovely, and the portions were generous, ensuring that everyone left satisfied. Overall, it was a memorable day, made even more special by the presence of lifelong friends. Celebrating such a significant milestone with those who have been part of our journey for so long was truly heartwarming. The restaurant provided the perfect setting for this joyous occasion, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Wow! What a variety. Food was good and plentiful. Going back without a doubt.

Yesterday I returned for the delicious Buddha Bowl and was not disappointed! Good hearty and healthy meal, plenty of it for £14. Tea for one was plentiful, strong and very hot. No matter how busy, and they were very busy yesterday, the ladies who serve cannot be faulted, smiley, polite and helpful. Chap on front desk was polite but not smiley or friendly, seemd uptight. Just a thought but I noticed The Barn is advertising for a fulltime Chef. The Barn needs more waiting staff. It may be that being understaffed is stressful for some staff. Nevertheless I left a decent tip as I always do and I will return.

Food was first class and the service was fantastic , Lovely servers who were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble . I would definitely recommend the Ship and I look forward to going back .

We have been here a few times and it is always a very nice experience. The restaurant staff are always pleasant/friendly/efficient & the food never disappoints. If you are maybe looking for a traditional setting for a quiet meal for 2 , 4, or for a special occasion then The Blue Anchor will tick all of the boxes - never lets us down.

Food and welcome was lovely. Went for my dad’s birthday and enjoyed everything about it. The staff were attentive and always asking if everything was ok with our food. Can highly recommend this restaurant.
