We ordered the food about 5.30 for 7 delivery and it turned up at 6.55 - excellent in my book. The food was excellent and there were a few 'extras' added. I will definitely be using this restaurant again.

We ordered our food via the telephone & was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. After waiting in the restaurant for another 40 minutes, when I got home we had been given the wrong order! I phone to inform them of this & was told we could keep that order, I explained that I was a vegetarian & the order we received was meat! I asked for our money back & told them to come round to give it us back, after another 40 minutes, I took the order back to them & demanded my money back. After being kept waiting for another 5 minutes I was then given my original order plus they said I could keep the other one !!!!!! He gave me my money back & I did NOT take any any food from them. I will not being going back there & I certainly wouldn't recommend the Raj to anyone.

I had takeout from The Raj, the portions where very large and they gave us extra food!. I imagine this is because we are new customers. I usually dont like take away curry because its always sloppy, greasy and swimming in oil. However I was pleasantly suprised with this one. The sauce was thick and the chicken tender. The rice was also fresh and fluffy. My only gripe was I could have used a little more spice in my Balti (but this is personal preference). All in all I enjoyed the curry and would order from here again.

Music good if they bother setting it up , which they do if folk complain enough . Staff go outside for a smoke rather than making sure music is ok ! But Toilets are disgusting. Camping they charge per person rather than per van.

If you like to eat, and you enjoy top notch food, then drop in and enjoy the treat that is sue's cooking. Whatever you order will be a cut above what your expecting. Brilliant.

Just back from yet another stay at St Anne's and once again back to the Ship Inn at Freckleton. The owners are extremely friendly and know their regulars and also remember visitors who return again and again - perfect hosts! The staff are both helpful and friendly and the place has a fantastic relaxed atmosphere no matter how busy. Food as always was superb and as usual the difficulty was what to choose as the menu is both extensive and imaginative, Do hope to be back before Christmas. Would recommend without hesitation - definitely one of the best places to eat in Lancashire without question.

Very disappointed. Dont get me wrong we have had very nice food from this establishment in the past and this would not be on here if we had the issues sorted. Firstly our food was delivered quite late taking 1 hour 15min. We then found that the order was incorrect. When we called we were quized for 5 min on how we were in the wrong. We explained that we had recieved a set meal for two that we didnt order. The reply was well you have more food so just eat it.

Just back from another short stay at St Anne's and guess where we ate again? Wouldn't think of going anywhere else but The Ship Inn. This is my second review and as before all our expectations were fully met both with the food and the staff. Only one complaint! Having lost 6 stones it is hard keeping the weight off and the fabulous choice has me drooling, I simply have a lovely meal, enjoy the whole experience and go back to my restricted eating when I get back home. Menu is fantastic and for a vegetarian there are also lots of choices. Hope to be back again late August. Looking forward to the Grilled Goats Cheese starter followed by Vegetarian Moussaka already! Highly recommend to everyone - you will not be disappointed!

Had my daughter's 21st here in the function room. I can not praise the place enough. The food was excellent and the service was better than excellent. Having eaten here many times before I was expecting it to be good and it didn't disappoint.

We went for the burns evening and had the set three course menu it was fabulous and the guest speaker was great we had a lovely evening and are going to be booking again real soon you will not be disappointed what ever you choose on the menu.

My husband and I have been going there for years and have never had a bad meal - quite the contrary. Always courteous, friendly staff, and huge portions of beautiful food. The steaks especially melt in your mouth. Why not join Hi Life card and get a complimentary main meal during weekday evenings.

Very disappointing and not worth the one hour drive from Manchester. My partner and I dined on the special menu last night (2 courses £9.90). We were the first people to arrive at 6.00 p.m. and I would not say we got a warm welcome. My partner made a couple of queries regarding items on the menu with the waiter and then we were very rudely addressed by the owner asking us what was the problem with the menu, you either choose from the special offer or the a la carte. Totally uncalled for because we were not causing any problems. To make matters worse my partner almost broke his tooth on what appeared to be a stone in his main mail. We immediately brought it to the attention of the waiter who took the piece into the kitchen (did not remove my partners meal) and went to investigate with the chef. He came back after quite some time to say the chef had cooked the item down and it was not a stone and had probably come out of the vegetables. No apology no offer of a replacement meal. Needless to say my partner left the rest of his meal. We will definitely not be returning.

excellent food, excellent friendly service.My Husband and i often walk down for a meal as we live close by and sometimes take our baby girl . The staff are so friendly and helpful. I remember once, when we had really bad ice and snow, the waiter came down and delivered the food on foot as i was 7 months pregnant and didn't want to slip on the ice. Highly recommended!

we have been 4 times in the last month and each time it has been excellent, both hospitality and food. our friends were equally impressed . it is also very good value for money

First visited the Ship Inn in 1969! My husband and I have just returned from a four day break in St Anne's and ate at the Ship Inn every night - something we never do. Food is excellent, great choice, fantastic staff and nothing is too much bother for them if a request is made. Hope to be back again in September. Have recommended to several friends who are holidaying in the area.

We get takeaways regular from the Raj which they have no problem in delivering to Newton. Faultless food quality. Would highly recommend the Lamb Tikka Shashlick ..........Awesome!

Went here with some mates, who had told me about the portions had the Mix Grill, was huge!!. Then took my girlfriend the week after, more sensible this time, I had the Sirloin she had the fillet steak, service and food was great again, would recommend to all.

Don't forget to sell a kidney before you go, you'll need the money for these extortionate prices. (check menu price list)
