Atmosphere was lacking slightly, but I think that was due to the fact that we was during the lunchtime period. Service and food was good and prices were reasonable

Delicious food Quiet ambience...good for a meal with friends as you can chat We chatted for quite a while after we finished eating and nobody made us feel uncomfortable like we should be leaving

First time here under new owners. Excellent. My meal was the lamb chops off the main menu. Best lamb chops I've ever had. Partner had chicken stirfry. Good but a little dry. A bottle of wine for a good price. Staff attentive and pleasant. We had booked online. On arrival sent to table 2 in main dining room,when we were found in the dark we were told that room was closed. Everything turned out well though

Exceptional. Food and service a match for “top end “ establishments, but at reasonable cost. A great local for those who do not live near; otherwise, well worth travelling if you are in the area.

We had a great evening in the Royal oak restaurant. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the experience really great. Our food was great quality & delicious and all 4 of us enjoyed the meals. We joined the quiz and the quiz master made it a lot of fun. Great team of people here. Would highly recommend. :). Join the Monday quiz night. It’s so much fun!!

We opted for the chicken & peppercorn sauce with potatoes and vegetables, in a word it was lush. From the first bite to the last it was so tasty and as always with a meal like that it was over in seconds (that’s what it felt like) If ever we are down that way again our first port of call will be the Royal Oak. Many thanks.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent evening meal and corteous service, during our recent overnight stop over. Highly recommended. We will return.

Came across this pub on line on way back to Manchester . Had the Sunday dinner which was lovely only one small gripe the Yorkshire pudding was cold at the bottom . The staff were lovely and service efficient
