My wife and I had a great meal in nice surroundings served by very professional and friendly people. We will be back.

Excellent all-round, great service and awesome food, highly recommended, stayed in the village with friends and dined here on the Saturday Evening, had starters and mains too full for desert but all agreed it was excellent.

After Having finally managed to get a slot in the notable “Potluck “ session on Monday night we were not disappointed. Even though there is not a lot of choice the food was excellent and plentiful . Staff and service very pleasant and Quick . A pleasure and will be booking again .

Excellent meal as always , staff very attentive and a great atmosphere . See you again soon .

Had a lovely afternoon tea lovely food and 1 was gluten free the other 2 were normal and they were great. Lovely bone china cups and saucers. Girl that served us could not do enough to help us and kept checking we were ok and had enough tea and milk. It’s our second visit and will def be back Thanks

Wonderful Sunday Lunch as usual. The beef was to die for and the vegetables were cooked just right. Could not fault it and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch at the Miners Sling after walking in the forest. The meal was beautifully presented with a self carving platter of beef and fresh vegetables. Starters were delicious too. The staff were friendly and very efficient running a busy restaurant. We would definitely visit again when we are in the area

Excellent food definitely the best Sunday lunch in the Forest. Every time we visit it gets better. Friendly staff and great service. Cracking ingredients and well cooked. 5 stars.

One of our favourite places. Always a great menu and good food. Prices seem to have increased a bit but not as much as other places. Service normally quite good - can sometimes rely on inexperienced staff but it’s a common issue these days and they try their best!! Always friendly and good value.

We enjoyed a lovely meal on 3rd June for my wife’s birthday with the whole family, 8 of us had a really great meal. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, authentic Italian waiters/waitresses (also some locals) but a great place for a meal. Despite it being very busy due to the Tall Ships Festival going on, we were served reasonably quickly and all enjoyed a lovely meal. The only dampener on it was we were on a time limit with parking due to a 2hr limit on the car parking area we were at and after my wife was given a fine of £60 at Christmas for going 9 minutes over the time limit, we didn’t want to risk it, otherwise we probably would’ve stayed longer and eaten a dessert but never mind. We will be back again.

We had a fabulous breakfast here. We booked ahead and pre-ordered as we were a big group but the service was great and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful evening. Met friends and everyone loved it. Great menu choices, lovely staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Everything was clean, tidy and we felt very welcome. Really good portion sizes, adaptable menu if required and knowledgeable staff about menu. Definitely recommend a visit.

Had heard good things but was disappointed with food and atmosphere, they also forgot that we paid a deposit when the bill came. Won’t be returning in a hurry. On the plus side, our waitress was very attentive.
