Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsLovely food, reasonable prices. Staff super friendly.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsFood was delicious, absolutely spot on for what we wanted. Gent behind the bar was brilliant, although very busy, extremely accommodating and friendly. We’ll definitely be sure to visit when back in the area.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsFabulous food, drink and service as always! Always friendly and welcoming
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsEnjoyed Sunday lunch at the Hope & Anchor. Staff were great and the Roast was excellent.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsService was good and food well prepared and tasty. Quality of the food was very good. It was disappointing that the hand pump beers were all unavailable. Quality of the wine could be improved.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsGood
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsThe food was good and the portions large Unfortunately people are allowed to vape in here which I do not like Our experience was also spoiled by a group of young men at the next table who spoke loudly and used a lot of expletives In addition dogs should be restricted to a set area
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsVery nice place and food was good
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe booked a table for Sat 6th Sept at 7.20pm upon arrival was taken to table had to ask for it to be cleaned were eventually given menus then sat waited after 10 minutes my husband went the bar to ask if we had to order at the bar and was told “there will be a delay of 30-40 minutes”! Why did they not say that when we arrived we left. The establishment also has rooms I dread to think what breakfast service is like. It was shambolic and poorly run a Saturday night and the only 3 draft beers they had were sold out! Will not revisit or recommend.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsBeen here a quite a few times during our 2 and a bit week stay, as usual the service and food was excellent, a few comments mention slowish service, but the food is cooked to order and piping hot, staff are friendly and the pub welcomes dogs. Will definitely be visiting again.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe always have a meal here with our 3 children always has been good and service had been great with excellent staff we will see you in a couple of weeks x
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe had a table booked for 7.30 on Sunday on arrival we were told that they couldn’t serve Starters just main meals. It was really busy so took a while to take our order and even longer to get our meal. To be fair the food was ok but the mash was cold and the lamb chops small and very fatty. We asked for some Red wine and was told they had no wine glasses so had in half pint glasses. It was a bank holiday weekend so was very busy but it was a shame as we won’t be coming back.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsExcellent as usual, food spot on, staff very friendly and excellent service.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsFood was lovely, staff lovely, atmosphere lovely. And bonus the dogs where welcome too. Couldn't fault the pub. Everyone was so friendly and portions were very generous. It was nice to chat with family whilst we were on our holiday. I highly recommend this pub We will be back when we come back to the lakes.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe’ve eaten here three times now. The food is good and the portions large. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The service is quite slow but if you’re not in a rush that’s not a problem. However the language of a very few regulars standing or sitting at the bar is, being unacceptable and loud. On our last visit we were seated near the bar and had our 9 year old grandson with us. The language of two regulars sitting at the bar was dreadful, so we left rather than have desserts and more drinks. I could hear the member of staff who I assumed was the bar manager asking them to shush and maybe move into the other room but they wouldn’t. There were lots of other children in the pub at the time , some of them much younger.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsThe main part of the food was lovely but 4 of us had mash potato side and the mash was not cooked it was full of uncooked chunks. We booked for 7.30pm and there was only one other table with people eating the rest of the tables said reserved but no one came the whole time we where there. We ordered the two course children's meals and where told when ordering the deserts that the chef had gone home so we could only have ice cream, and this was just 3 scoops of ice cream in a bowl, no sauce offered. Food and drinks had to be ordered at the bar no table service.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe were recommended this place while staying in the area on holiday and it did not disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, big beer garden in the rear, food was fab. Only advice would be don’t eat before you go as their portions are massive! But worth every bite! Thank you!
