Great food the sea bass was amazing, service was great and with some lovely English wine to boot will definitely visit again when in Grasmere.

Food was excellent , nicely presented and good portion size . A lovely bistro in Grasmere serving quality bistro food unlike other hotels in Grasmere who provide over priced "pub food". Unfortunately there seemed to be a shortage of staff with only two serving a full house plus the turnover and made the atmosphere a bit overwhelming. However that did not deter from the fact that we enjoyed our meal.Would certainly recommend the bistro even left a note in the holiday cottage for future guests.

Meals were excellent. Staff very friendly. We’ve been here before and it never disappoints. Would recommend if you visit Grasmere

Booked from Tripadvisor as menu looked fantastic. Even better in practice. Great choice, great food, great service and great atmosphere. Had the English wine which was excellent.

Excellent food. Lovely sea bass and monk fish meals. Scallops a little disappointing. Really good and friendly service.

A pleasure to visit Lewis’s again and to have a great meal. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite finish my lamb shank after having a starter due to the size of it! Partly solved the problem on a further visit two days later by giving the starter a miss before having a steak followed by a sweet. Great food and first class staff- always a pleasure to eat when in the area

Good food, great value, will visit again.

An excellent meal for the 2 of us. We walked passed it in the afternoon as we were staying a couple of nights at the Wordsworth Hotel & decided to try it ! Busy even on a Wednesday night as nothing worse than an empty restaurant when you turn up! Nice atmosphere & very friendly helpful staff. We had 3 courses but shared the dessert & it was all beautifully cooked . My friend said it was the best belly porc he had ever tasted & my filet steak with all the trimmings was pertly cooked to my requirements ¬ overpriced . A really nice meal .

Service and staff were good and place was full on a Saturday night, so booking essential I would suggest. Starters were disappointing - my 3 scallops were tiny (more like IoM queenies) and my wife’s French onion soup lacked depth. My main of monkfish was excellent and although good, my wife said her sea bass had bones in it and not filleted well. Desert of Eccles cake was excellent and the wine selection was varied and good too. Coffee machine was broken so unable to have our usual post food espresso. Overall, would go again, as not too many smart dining options outside of the hotels in town.

Superb! Four of us dined on Saturday evening and from start to finish we couldn’t fault it. We got a warm welcome and we’re seated immediately. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was well presented and delicious! We were all still talking about it the next day and will definitely be back!

Three of us went twice to this restaurant. We were so impressed and were only in Grasmere for 3 evenings! The service was very attentive, especially to our request to not sit by the door. The staff were all so friendly , and helpful. We food was well presented, generous and served on hot plates.

This was our second visit to Lewis’ Bistro. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, especially the French onion soup on a cold night! We each had two starters, both of which were lovely. Great service in a relaxed atmosphere. To be recommended.
