We visited here while on holiday in Grasmere. The food was excellent and great service, such a lovely restaurant. Definitely recommend a visit here and we can't wait to go again when next in Grasmere.

We had a fantastic meal at this bistro and as it was for a special occasion went all out on 3 courses each plus wine. All the food was fabulous with an amazing cheesy gratin to start (a last minute choice I'm so glad I went for!) beautiful monkfish dish and a sticky toffee pudding the boy on the table behind me pronounced the best he's ever had - I've probably had many more but this was definitely right up there! The service was excellent, professional and friendly, with a smile and extra word for all parties. The price reflects the quality and also the generous portion sizes, we were pretty full when we left but very happy and would definitely return!

Delicious food and friendly and helpful service.

This is a relatively unknown gem in Grassmere. The menu choice is extensive and incorporates some interesting specials. My son and I shared baked camembert to start ,served with a pleasant chuckney, salad, dressing and bread. For main course my son tried ostrich and i had beautifully cooked beef strogonoff. Washed down with local bottled beer , it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. We will definitely revisit when we next stay in the south lakes . I just don't understand why there was only one other full table on a friday evening. Shame so many are missing out !

Are at Lewis’s Bistro for our anniversary on 9th April! From start to finish we were made to feel welcome! Lovely atmosphere and amazing food.

What a wonderful find. So pleased we booked here last minute. Great, fresh menu which caters for all dietary requirements (pescatarian, vegan and gluten free in our party). All of our choices were delicious with generous portions. Really lovely staff and very relaxed, jovial atmosphere. The extra effort (eg gluten free shortbread with dessert) was much appreciated. Fantastic.

Good ambience and excellent food, both menu choices and presentation. The cheeseboard with unusual crackers, celery, grapes and apple slices all imaginatively displayed, with our cheese choices was a great finale.

Second time visiting here and it was equally as good. A bit kooky, the staff are absolutely lovely and the chef is a top chap. I had the Kung Po and it was lovely. Dog friendly as well.

Booked Lewis Bistro for my wife and I for her birthday while staying in Grasmere for a couple of night last week. We had a great evening with good food, atmosphere and service! Look forward to getting back at some point.

Excellent food in a delightful little bistro with fabulous service. Best monkfish I have ever had and will most definitely be back next time we are in Grasmere. Only slightly negative comment is about the toilets which should be cleaner and don’t do the restaurant justice.

We had a wonderful experience at Lewis Bistro. The welcoming staff and fantastic food made my visit truly enjoyable. However, the restaurant allowing dogs to walk past diners while eating was a bit off-putting. Overall, I would still recommend this place for its great service and delicious dishes."

Excellent food, nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly attentive staff

We visited due to the very good reviews and wanted a special evening out whilst away. It is a very nice place and the staff friendly and welcoming. I chose the Lamb Shank, given the good reviews, however mine was well overcooked, some of it being inedible, the rest also ruined. Reluctantly they discounted the meal but sadly the night was not the special evening out we wanted, a shame given the many good reviews.

Lovely restaurant, high quality food and service. Recommended.
