Wonderful attentive polite and knowledgeable staff. There's aren't many places these days that take all the ladies orders first and pour for the ladies first. Lovely food and not that much more expensive than the rest of the restaurants in Grasmere. Ribeye, venison, salmon and pork steak all perfectly cooked. Crisp, white tablecloths. Interesting service charge (£7.50 or 10% whichever is least) would have been happy to round up further. Well worth consideration... We're even going to see if there are any deals to stay later in the year

We had a lovely afternoon tea at Rothay Garden on Saturday 16th December 2023. The hotel were able to deal with Gluten Free requirements and the dog was made most welcome! Highly recommended.

Great comfort food. All a bit surreal, but certainly very friendly, good portions, extensive menu. I'd definitely recommend it.

The food and service were excellent, albeit the main course came immediately we finished the starters. The main issue was that it was so cold we could not linger and had to leave as soon as we finished eating. There was also clothing including trainers (staff?) left lying around which was rather off-putting. Staff friendly but would not go back unless it's summer.

Very friendly staff with a good choice of menu options. Meal arrived quickly and was delicious. Highly recommended

I have visited this bistro many times over the years. Standard’s remain consistently high. We have never had a bad meal or any cause for complaint. The food is beautiful and cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend Lewis’s Bistro.

Absolutely delicious food and a really pleasant atmosphere although the restaurant wasn’t particularly full. Our waitress was very friendly. We loved it!

Once again another great dining experience at Lewis’s Bistro. Welcoming staff on arrival at the bistro. lovely warm atmosphere. The food was delicious - it always is! We didn’t feel it was overpriced and will continue to dine at Lewis’s when we visit Grasmere again.. if we can get a table! Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful evening.

Dined late November not too busy. Only one waitress but she worked the tables really well, very chatty and efficient. The menu was excellent a little over priced, but the food was nicely presented and delicious. Good drinks menu, nice coffee. Well worth a visit.

We Nearly walked past the restaurant because I suppose I was looking for something bigger and there wasn’t much lighting on the sign , but once through the door we were greeted by lovely staff and a warm atmosphere, We started with the scallops which was absolutely beautiful and then the chicken for the main course, again absolutely beautiful, i left nothing on the plate, it was pricey but so worth it I would certainly return.

Great food with a very down to earth atmosphere. Staff checked in on the meals, with perfect timing, cracked a few jokes and were on the ball throughout the meal. Will definitely be checking out Lewis' again in the future.

Visited last year, all round outstanding, this time not as good , starters were great, fillet steak main , chips were terrible, also salad om main did not compliment the dish at all, overcharged on bill , luckily spotted

We ate in the restaurant on a Saturday night & were very well looked after, from the dirty martini on arrival to the cheseboard at the end of the evening.. & everything else in between. Thanks Rob & Jo.
