Delicious food. Great service and atmosphere!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad an amazing meal here...Stopped in a highly rated hotel for a few nights in Grasmere and decided to try somewhere different to eat on our last night, wish we had found it sooner!! The whole experience was brilliant and far superior to the food in our 5 star hotel. Will definitely be returning and more than happy to give this 5 stars.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had an lovely evening here and enjoyed our food, drink and the relaxing atmosphere. Our second time here, we have been waiting to return post covid, and will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Great service too.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFinger prints on all the glasses, wine glasses looked like they'd been on 100s of dishwasher cycles... cloudy and again, full of finger prints. The food... order steak medium, came like shoe leather, chips were dry but the pepper sauce was good and peppery. My partner ordered the belly Pork which was AMAZING. such potential let down buy detail
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe were extremely pleased with our meal. The food was excellent quality and fresh. The service was very good and the overall ambiance.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDuring our trip to Ambleside we happened upon Lewis’s Bistro. What a find! Fantastic food. We had the steak and the lamb, however DO NOT MISS the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. Our server was a local lad with an hysterical, dry sense of humor and a cheeky smile. The entire experience was top notch. Treat yourself!!!!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was good and well presented. Service was very efficient possibly slightly too much as main course came out almost as soon as starter was cleared. Meals on pricey side. Billed for an extra glass of wine, amended when pointed out, but shouldn't really have happened as on two of us and only 4 drinks consumed.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWonderful little bistro that allows dogs. A real treat as we normally have to eat in pubs. The food was divine and the service was excellent. When they found out we'd just got engaged they discounted our bill. A really lovely gesture as they didn't have to do that. Would definitely return when we're next in Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWonderful food. Lovely young staff
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThank you for a great evening. We thought the atmosphere, food and service were great. One of the best meals we have had. Especially the lovely French Onion Soup and the Seabass Have a good Summer Alasdair
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe booked this restaurant after reading reviews about it and were not disappointed, food was excellent, I had chicken supreme and and my husband had pork with crackling , the vegetables accompanying the meal were all cooked to perfection and a good selection. We treat ourselves to a desert and again we were not disappointed. All staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. We booked in advance which I would recommend, we made our booking online, the process was very easy,
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food was excellent- well presented and delicious. I had the French Onion soup and slow cooked pork , only problem - I was too full for a dessert - which looked great. The staff were all great , very friendly and helpful. You need to book as gets very busy . I’d definitely go again if in Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have eaten many times at the Bistro but this was not one of the better experiences. The main course that we had chosen was not available, and neither was the wine that we had selected. The garlic mushrooms were excessively loaded with garlic and the halibut was tasteless. The beans and carrots served with the halibut were overcooked and oddly tasting. On the positive side, the scallops were excellent and the steak well cooked and presented.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThis is a splendid place to eat. The staff are very accommodating and the food is wonderful.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA nice comfortable little bistro.Laid back atmosphere, small menu but understandable as only one chef. However the menu is varied, something for everyone. The belly pork and black pudding starter very good and the fillet was well cooked and rested. The young waiter was a really nice guy,a real asset to this business ,I feel that if he hadn’t been there our visit would not have been so good. Lowest mark for VFM as I thought it a bit pricey at around £125 for two courses for a couple, mind you that included a couple of drinks and wine. I always think “would I recommend or go back again”,the answer to both is YES.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA most friendly reception at a busy time. Service was efficient and the youngster in her first few days was to be commended. Obviously good training. We had been lucky to get our table as Bistro almost full, but this did not detract from the quality of the food which was very tasty and well presented.Shame we live too far away to frequent this spot! I sat with my back to the room, so marked the atmosphere down (4.75/5)
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe enjoyed evening meal here 25th June. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was good value and a decent bottle of red. Would eat here again if in yhe area.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereMy husband and I had a lovely evening meal at the bistro The service, food and wine were all lovely and our highlight was the the desert of warm Eccles cake with ice cream I would recommend the bistro to anyone staying in grasmere
