Very nice although menu very limited I had lamb chops which were beautifully cooked but the roasted beetroot didn’t work for me so maybe leave it off this dish .

A warm welcome to the Bistro we sat near the window, I had French onion soup, with a cheesy crouton, very nice, my sister had the cheese soufflé described as excellent. We both had the Chicken supreme with green beans, carrots, lovely fried potatoes, chorizo and gravy. Again we could not fault this dish and ate the lot. With 2 large glasses of very nice red wine and table water we really enjoyed our evening. We enjoyed watching the antics of the new lambs in the field opposite the bistro which was really busy. Do book if you wish to come for really good food.

Excellent meal definitely be back

Ate here on a Tuesday evening in late March and it was nearly full, a very good sign. Very friendly and professional staff and excellent food. I had lamb chops while my wife had pork belly, both were lovely with everything on the plates cooked perfectly. We shared a selection of three very good local cheeses and were both full at the end. There are gluten free options on all courses with most mains being gf and I was given gf biscuits with the cheese (I'm coeliac). Good portions of great food made for a very good end to the day. The only issue, bizarrely, was with the door which opened suddenly and quite robustly when the handle was turned, hitting my forehead, this needs addressing (I would guess some imbalance in air pressure), but otherwise a very enjoyable meal.

What a perfect meal, blonde lady who served us was really friendly and funny, as were the rest of the staff, waiter was cool and looked like a rock star! what more can I say, it was just really really nice and the perfect way to spend our last night in the lakes. Massive thumbs up from us. x

Lovely staff, friendly atmosphere and excellent food.

Booked a table on the Friday 25th March for my wife and myself, we had the olive and bread starter which was lovely , we both had the Fillet steak, which was fantastic and melted in your mouth , the service was great and staff really friendly and nice , all i can say is it was that good we went back again on the Saturday , and had another really nice meal , for me this is the best eating place in Grasmere ,other places we tried were over expensive and the food quality and service didnt get anywhere near Lewis Bistro. Keep up the good work guys and see you all again soon .

We booked Lewis’s several weeks in advance of our visit to Grasmere after reading excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We almost cancelled on reading more up to date poor reviews but read between the lines and decided to proceed with the booking. So glad we did! The staff were welcoming, the food and wine delicious and we left the restaurant saying it was the best meal we’d had in a long time. We will definitely return if in the area in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

We really enjoyed our visit to Lewis’s bistro, the family run business that always impresses. Our food was tasty and well presented and the service was great. We will return.

If your looking for somewhere special to eat whilst in Grasmere, then Lewis’s is the restaurant to book. Food is exceptional would even go as far as saying Stunning. We luckily have had the pleasure of eating on several occasions and on every occasion I have left saying that’s the best meal I have eaten in a very long while. Simply a must. X

Lewis's is always exceptionally good. We visit Grasmere every year and always make sure to eat at Lewis's. This year we booked a table on 2 evenings and thoroughly enjoyed both occasions. Excellent food and wine, lovely friendly staff. We brought our dog with us both nights, and he was made to feel very welcome as well. Hard to find fault with this little gem.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and attentive service. Some good gluten free options - though some more GF starters would be nice as there was only 1 choice when I dined there.

We ate on 12th March having been previously a couple of years ago just before lockdown. Just as good if not better. Food and atmosphere were great and the service was very friendly and efficient. We'll be back but it won't be a 2 year wait this time!

We chose Lewis’s Bistro based on an excellent menu choice and the Tripadvisor review’s and were not disappointed. The food and service was excellent and the portions so good we couldn’t manage one of their amazing deserts. Will definitely be back

We ate here on Saturday March 12th. Lewis’s Bistro is a warm and welcoming restaurant with an excellent atmosphere. Our food was first class as was the friendly and attentive service. Altogether a really good evening out.
