To be honest I wasn't aware of this pub at all. I knew it existed but not that it was like it is now. Saw it on this site and was impressed with the images and menu. Top draw all round, will definitely return.

Just tried Bellamy's new shop at the Castle Gardens, Carleton. Delighted to be served the best Haddock I can ever remember having, as close to perfection as possible. 10/10

We had a great time on Mother's Day. The meals were cooked to perfection and the staff were excellent. We will be going again.

The Cartford Inn is possibly the best pub to eat on the Fylde Coast. In a great spot on the banks of the river Wyre. Our table looked out onto the river. My French onion soup and fish pie were very good, as was the creme brule to follow. Service was good and I liked all the art around the walls of the pub, making it look vibrant. Will return and recommend.

This was a first class experience in every way. A friendly welcome, relaxing decor, a table with a lovely view of the river, a fabulous menu to choose from and a taste experience that easily surpassed regular pub dining. Our meal featured a wonderful combination of flavours, was beautifully cooked and the portion sizes were perfect. Highly recommended.

Visited on recommendation and we were not disappointed.nice surroundings and very friendly, knowledgable staff.particularly liked the real fire crackling away whilst we ate and drank.it was a perfect addition to the ambience and gave the establishment a real homely feel. The sea bass special and venison wellington came enthusiastically recommended by the waiter and he was right. They were excellent ! A very enjoyable evening was had.we shall be back.

Probably my favourite place on the Fylde Coast. Looks great, staff are very well trained and friendly. Food is excellent and it commands a great spot overlooking the River Wyre. Loved the Chefs Signature and my crab cake starter. Also when the weather is like this it has outside tables.

Superb meal and service for our group of ten, on the Saturday before Easter Sunday. Even though they were very busy there was no downgrade of food or service. Highly recommended.

Friends of ours took us here for a gourmet evening on April 6. I have to say although I’ve lived locally all my life it’s the first time I’ve been to Great Eccleston village instead of whizzing past on the bypass. Had a drink first at the White Bull across the road and then headed to the Courtyard for 8pm. They hold these gourmet evenings on the first Saturday of every month but don’t open in the evenings otherwise. Four courses including cheese with a glass or port for less than £30 is good value in my book and the food was good with three dishes to choose from for each course. They also had a wine list that would put most local restaurants to shame with VERY reasonable mark-ups. Would I recommend? Yes. Shame they don’t open in the evenings as I would definitely go again.

Visited on a recommendation and after reading the reviews on Sugarvine for a friend's birthday last Saturday. We were not disappointed!! There were seven of us including 3 children and there was something for everyone. The starter of ham and pea casserole with black pudding fritters was excellent, presented in a very quirky way and very tasty. Everyone thoroughly emjoyed the food. There was good ale to be had too, a couple of pints of Moorhouses Pride of Pendle hit the spot! Service was very good also, Oscar, our waiter was very efficient and friendly. Overall a very good lunch was had and we have already discussed a return trip!! Highly recommended to all.

Not often I have three (savoury) courses, other than at a formal dinner, but the specials at the Cartford last week were unmissable. Watercress soup, Mountain hare and mushroom tagliatelli and then Poached place with Hollandaise sauce. All washed down with a lovely Albarino. Throw in the views of the Wyre and the fells beyond as twilight set in and a great atmosphere and I reckon you’ve got one of the best dining experiences in the area.

we have been to the Boot and Shoe now a couple of times and never been disappointed. the food is always good home made food and very good value for money. not your cheap packet mash like you get at some two for a tenner, but very good fresh food. just go and fined out for yourselves.

We have been visiting the fish bar for years. But last night 9th of August, the service was awful. We waited for 10 to 15 minutes for the waitress to take our order which would have taken all of two minutes. Instead she prefered to clear tables. The next people sitting down where immediately served straight away. We called her over and told her we had been sittling here ages. She muttered something she would be back in a minute walking off with notepad in her hand. She didn't come back after the minute. So we left and I don't think we'll return again. In future we'll spend our money else where

Surprisingly have never eaten here before though I have lived in the Fylde. What a pleasant surprise, we loved our Sunday lunch by the river in beautiful surroundings.

Visited recently for a leisurely Saturday lunch and was most impressed. The view out over the River Wyre and beyond from the large picture windows is a delight and I was pleased to see the menu had changed (not that there was anything wrong with the old one). Good food accompanied by a nice bottle of claret. Bliss.
