They didn't have our booking, but I had confirmation. Luckily it was a quiet night. Food was mostly nice though the chips were awful. Really over cooked.

Great dining experience. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was amazing, not an empty plate left. Worth every penny. £7 a pint is steep, but went for the food, not the beer. Will return for sure.

The food is always unbelievable at roots! Service is always fast and the atmosphere is just a great vibe! Roots is always my first choice when going out for food!

Hull’s not exactly know for its food scene with major city’s only a 40 mins train away. However that being said this is a very impressive Mexican restaurant couldn’t fault the food and service. Very impressed. Don’t mess around get a few small plates and tacos and feast away..

I came back to Hull for my birthday, and Food for Cowboys had been highly recommended to me. And it was DEFINITELY the right choice. Mexican food is my favourite, and it was even better than what I ate in the actual country. The choice was impressive, the quality amazing and the price reasonable. The cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the staff are so warm and friendly. Can’t wait to come back here again. Thank you for such a wicked evening!

It's very rare these days you get excellent food with a perfect atmosphere. This place had both and it was a real change to experience food how it should be. Fresh, and perfectly planned food. We would recommend

Fabulous food, great service, highly recommend everything

Food is always good in roots what was different tonight was the guy felt like he was the owner maybe but his vibe his attuide his passion was amazing couldn't do enough for you absolutely loved his attuide. Also was a thursday and it was a really good atmosphere. And really cheap for the quality of food you get . used roots for years never been disappointed.

This was our first visit and we went on the recommendation of friends. We went with other friends From the minute we went through the door we were made to feel welcome. Staff were polite, helpful and very friendly. The food was fabulous and portion sizes were great as we went for the all you can eat ‘tapas style’ so we tried numerous dishes. Already recommended to other friends and we’ll certainly be back soon.
