Our first visit. We went for the Lamb special sharer. Taste sensation. Wow. Just felt it needed something else. Something with which we could soak up all the deliciousness of that dish Staff were friendly and helpful. Keen to hear our view on the Lamb It was that good really !!!

The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Really enjoyed everything, I just wish I’d had space for dessert! Can’t wait to go back.

A food experience. The best tacos ever and the most intensely beautiful flavours

We visited the restaurant to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. While the service was good, we found the food to be quite disappointing. For starters, we ordered the mixed grill. Unfortunately, the seekh kebab was very soggy and lacked flavour, and the chicken tikka was bland. The lamb chops were acceptable, but not particularly memorable. For the main course, the Delhi chicken was enjoyable and well-flavoured; however, the chicken karahi was not to our liking. We also ordered both garlic naan and plain naan, but there was little to distinguish between the two. Overall, we had high expectations, but sadly, the experience did not meet them.

Dined here last night with friends and it did not disappoint! Spicy Marg was delish! Food was fresh & tasty! Ambience was cozy, but was a tad too dark buuuut, will definitely be going back!!

Absolutely brilliant restaurant. The food was top quality and the service was also very good. The portion sizes were very big and the meal was very well priced. An excellent experience overall.

Such a great pub with a really good vibe. Properly dog-friendly too, ours were given water and treats at the table, which was a lovely touch. The beer choice is lush, and the food from Food for Cowboys next door is spot on. Staff are all really friendly and helpful as well. Definitely recommend

Been her a few times now and loved all of it. The staff are wonderful, the food is excellent and the location is great. Fantastic place to start an evening out.

He recently moved from London to hull and all I do is rave about the food here. My favourite restaurant in hull hands down. I would personally like the restaurant to be slightly darker- bit more vibey ✨

It was a very quiet night in terms of customers, but that was not a problem to us. The food was absolutely lovely and the portions were generous, the waiting staff were great.

Poor service, waited a long time to order despite lots of people standing around. All of my dishes tasted of cumin, and not nice. Chicken Tikka Massala was like a jar curry with cumin thrown in. Naan bread and popadoms were nice. I did raise it when i was there and nothing happened. Wouldnt go back

Hull is super lucky to have Food for Cowboys. From the welcome to the drinks, food to the service, it was all beyond our expectations (and they were high thanks to friends who’d already raved about their visit). The host was attentive, knowledgable and warm. The spicy marg was the best I’ve ever had. The food was incredible. And the whole Place had a buzz about it. Cannot wait to return.

Myself and the family went for evening meal, the food was great, and the service second to none, didn't find it easy in reading the menu, is was quite dark, also reading how it was put on paper wasn't easy either. We would go back but we all said we would go online i think to see what to have next time.

We came for our son’s 14th birthday on 22nd March (his choice). There were 7 of us with a range of ages. So sorry we didn’t get our main servers name; guy with the fisherman’s hat on. He was so friendly and welcoming. We thought he went above and beyond for our son, chatting to him, and making him feel special. Thank you for that, you were so kind. The food as always was delicious. We had Sunday lunches and a sharing platter. Huge portions and so tasty. Drinks were reasonably priced and wine was tasty as was the mocktail and fruit soda. You can’t beat a pint of red stripe either! The music was good and the atmosphere inviting and vibey. Will see you again for sure. Thank you team Roots, 100% recommended!
