Not visited the pub in a long time, lovely lunch, staff were very friendly. Would recommend and I've booked again for later in the week.

Lovely food just a shame it took over an hour & half for food to come out that was only coz we asked how long it was going to be young girl was bit short with us when asked where the food was.had to ask where the kids meal was as didn’t come out with mains Also had to ask where the sides was aswell

Had heard good things but left a bit underwhelmed. Service very slow. Got first course nearly an hour after arrival. Plenty to choose from on menu. Perhaps too much choice given the long wait. Decent portion sizes and reasonably tasty but nowt special. Pretty fair prices for what was on offer.

We have visited a couple of times in recent weeks and have found food and service to be very good. The only slight criticism is that the portions are very large , having said that we are in our 70s and maybe our appetites are maybe not as big as they were.

First time dining here party of 5 adults very impressed with our experience 1st class all round. Will definitely be back highly recommend.

Group of 3 for lunch, disappointed with the food average at best. Ordered lemon cheese cake it was tiny possibly a frozen one? Service slow would not like to visit on a busy day!

what a great place. great outdoor seating area with secure play area for kids. food also served to you ouside if required. inside was lovely to, had a cozy feel to it. booked a table online which was easy for 2pm sun 8th oct for 7 people but needed to add 2 more seats at the last minute so rang and spoke to a woman who was very accomadating and managed to sort it out . food was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it . this is 1 place i will be definitely be calling back to .

Poor service. We are currently doing a Sunday lunch tour and have eaten all over tameside and the surrounding area. This was the first restaurant where we had walked out before even eating. We booked a table for 5 o'clock. Waited over ten minutes to be seated and then just under another ten for a waitress to tell us there was a 45 minute wait on food. As it was a nice day, they had lots of walk ins sat outside. I would have thought that priority would have been with those who had booked and if the quality of service had to take such a dive just so they could serve as many people as possible. With a one year old, you can imagine how difficult the wait would have been and also difficult it is with timings etc... I will not dine with restaurants that don't prioritise the quality of there service.

We called for food on Sunday towards the end of service. It had clearly been a very busy day for the staff with unusually warm weather bringing people out. However, everything we ordered was available and top notch and the staff friendly and efficient. This is why we like coming back.

5/10/23 With Carmel Early lunch,it was scrummy as usual. Hot & flavoursome Lasagne with garlic bread and side salad.Great service,attentive staff,great atmosphe. Can't wait for our return. Thankyou 5*

Always brilliant food here always fresh and home made, the pate is lovely hubby always has the rag pudding. Staff are always pleasant what more can you ask for

1st time & 1st impressions! Outstanding food, fabulous staff they definitely go above & beyond for their customers. The food was cooked well, tasty & hot. Absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend a visit you wouldn’t be disappointed. The atmosphere was welcoming from the moment we was greeted at the door & politely shown to our table. I’d say this is by far the best pub food in & around Tameside . Will definitely go back real soon.

Booked because of recommendation. They weren't wrong, everything about The Rising Moon was absolutely spot on. Will definitely be back.

We had the carvery on Sunday and it was delicious. The portions are big with plenty of meat. We will definitely be going back.
