We visited this pub 3 times during our week away in Keswick. Each time the food was excellent. A really nice pub with friendly attentive staff. Highly recommended

Food was Lovely we had Steak Pie. Chicken Pie. Gammon. Sausage n Mash . Fish pie everyone was impressed with the food and enjoyed the Ales as well . Good atmos and friendly Staff.

What a little gem the Pheasant. If your if your visiting Keswick and plan to eat out then I would highly recommend you try this pleasant little pub. But be sure to book in advance as they are always fully booked so I would recommend booking at least 2 days prior. Staff are friendly & welcoming and accommodating to meet your needs. As for the food well don’t just take my word for it, read the other reviews. Great food, great atmosphere, best food we’ve had in a long time.

We booked an early evening meal,and and had the signature fish pie dish having seen it recommended by other people, and it did not dissapoint, very tasty with plenty of fish. Desert selection was also very good, especially the sticky toffee pudding. Nice pub with good atmosphere and good staff.

Lovely cosy pub with a nice atmosphere! Fish pie was superb & Steak pie delicious with very tender beef! Vegetables cooked to perfection! Homemade sticky toffee pudding scrumptious as was the raspberry stack pavlova! Highly recommend this pub but booking advised due to its popularity!

Wide choice of menu items, concise but varied wine list in a convivial atmosphere. Have eaten at the Pheasant on numerous occasions and it always excels.

Really nice meal, staff were very welcoming and attentive, we were there on a Sunday evening and it was really busy so glad we booked as we wouldn’t have got a table. Would certainly come again next time we are in the lakes.

My husband and I ate at the Pheasant on Saturday night at 6pm. It was very busy, but that all added to the atmosphere. Our meal was excellent. We shared the starter of olives with bread and for main course meat pie with veg and chips which were all presented nicely. The waiting staff were all excellent and we look forward to our next visit.

Fabulous food and great service - booking essential

As a customer who has been eating at the Pheasant for over 20 years 4 - 6 times a year when we visit I was not 100% happy with my visits this time. The service as usual was excellent, I don't mind waiting a bit longer if the food is good but the issue I have is the lack of vegetables with the meal. We were served what used to be a portion for one, made to feed 2 people. Vegetables don't cost a lot to buy or cook so cutting back on these makes no sense. Smaller potions of the main ingredients would be a better saving for yourselves. We will be back but hope we get more vegetables in the future.

We first stumbled across The Pheasant 3 years ago on our annual visit to Keswick and each time now we book a table for at least one meal whilst there, although it’s a bit out of the way it is always really busy which says a lot to me. The food again was excellent, the staff as friendly as always, never disappointed. Although they are very dog friendly, allowing dogs in the actual pub they are not allowed in the restaurant part, which is a bonus for us as we don’t have a dog. See you on our next visit

Excellent ,our go to place in Keswick ,never disappointed. The choice for us coeliacs is good and the desert selection is tremendous. They are also very dog friendly .,so tick all the boxes for us.

We booked for a recent Sunday lunch and had a really good meal. The menu offered plenty of choice, the food we ordered was tasty and piping hot, with generous portions (I particularly commend the kitchen for the side dishes of vegetables!) , and service was excellent.

Booked a table at The Pheasant whilst visiting Keswick and wasn't disappointed. I chose The Pheasant as my wife is a vegetarian and the Sunday lunch Mushroom Wellington sounded very appealing. Both our meals were excellent, the staff very friendly and efficient and as we finished our meal it started to poor down the manager organised a taxi to take us back to our Hotel. Thank you all at The Pheasant and we will return when next visiting Keswick.

Our annual visit to Keswick and we always have at least 2 meals at the Pheasant and always book well in advance. On the Saturday night it was incredibly busy and there was quite a wait for food but it was certainly worth waiting for. The Venison Bourguignon was great as was my wife's vegetarian option. On Wednesday we both had Lamb Henry with chips rather than mash. Another great meal. Suberb chips and vegetables and on both occasions neither of us could manage a dessert. Staff were very friendly, especially the man who was waiting on and sorted out a table for a couple with a baby and offered to help them carry out their own highchair after their meal. Also liked that they sent confirmation email after I booked online and I also got a reminder of the booking the day before. Best meals of our holiday. All in all, faultless. Thank you.
