We came for a champagne afternoon tea on 17/6/23 We were asked where we would like to sit and Maria who looked after us was very polite without being overbearing. The food was fresh and appetising and the drinks hot and plentiful. The champagne was cold and fizzy lol. All in all a lovely experience.

Four of us enjoyed afternoon tea here in a very pleasant dining area. We had a large full teapot each and just about enough milk. The sandwiches were delicious with plenty of filling and the scones warm (would have preferred clotted cream though). The cakes were perhaps not as “ exciting “ as we have had at other venues but still ok. It would have been nice if some one had asked us if we needed anything and if everything was satisfactory!

Lovely afternoon tea. I am gluten free and was still able to have an array of treats. Lovely, friendly staff on reception and serving the food. A lovely afternoon treat.

Afternoon tea was out of this world. Top quality food and lovely glass of champagne. Staff were friendly and efficient. The building is set in a lovely location and gardens are beautiful.

Received the warmest of welcomes from a great receptionist which got us off to a good start. Dined well in the restaurant - food was spot on and the waiter did an impeccable job. I have thought hard and tried to find a negative but I can’t so top marks all round. Earlier in the year we stayed in two 5 star hotels in London - staff at Mere Court could give a lesson or two in how hospitality should be done. Thank you to all concerned for going that extra mile for these 2 very satisfied customers.

Lovely afternoon T, couldn't fault it. Good service and we had a lovely sunny day. Sandwiches were fresh, scone warm and a good selection of cakes.

Evening meal at this beautiful hotel. We’ve been several times and had our daughters wedding venue here. Top Class service with delicious freshly cooked food. Lovely place to eat, relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff. Thanks

We had afternoon tea on a day there was also a wedding however we were still made to feel special, the food was delicious and surroundings were lovely

We came here for lunch on my birthday. We had wanted something special for the occasion and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and attentive and there was a lovely ambiance in this beautiful house and grounds. Although we were not the only customers - lots of cars in the car park and groups of people arrived during the time we were eating - we had a room entirely to ourselves with a window seat overlooking the garden so it felt exclusive.

Had afternoon on a lovely sunny Friday afternoon. We were seated by a young waiter who asked if we wanted tea or coffee. It’s wasn’t until he went that we helped ourself to the menu on the table which have us different tea options to choose from. We were not offered any water or other drinks which I found odd. We then received our afternoon tea and the sandwiches were lovely. The scones and cream however were awful. You’d expect some lovely clotted cream. What we got I described as looking like vanilla icecream and it tasted so sour. I didn’t risk eating it as I’m pregnant. My husband searched the venue for a member of staff and resorted to asking reception. The young waiter came back and we explained our concerns re- the sour cream. He sent it back to the kitchen and came back with fresh cream and said the chef had taste me it and it was fine. Freshly made this morning using vanilla. Maybe we just don’t have very good taste buds but again it was sour. We then never saw a member of staff again until we left and spoke to the receptionist.

We recieved a warm welcome and we’re very well looked after. The food was delicious and an amazing ambiance.

Had a lovely afternoon tea. Friendly staff on reception. Nice relaxing venue. The only thing that would have been nice if we had been asked if we would like any more to drink. Once we sat down and we were served the afternoon tea we didn't see any waiting staff again. It would be nice if a member of staff came to see if everything is OK and to ask if you would like anymore drinks.

Afternoon Tea with Prosecco. A first time visit to Mere Court and what a delight it was! A lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes and super warm scones with clotted cream and jam plus of course coffee or tea and accompanied with a refreshing glass of prosecco. A warm welcome on arrival and super attentive, friendly yet professional service by our waitresses. All in all, an excellent afternoon the only improvement would have been better weather which would have allowed us to stroll in the extensive, beautiful grounds but we will save that for our next visit. Thank you Mere Court. Highly recommended.

My partner and I dined in the restaurant for stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and during that time had 2 evening meals and 2 breakfasts. All meals were lovely and the cleanliness standards were excellent. Breakfast selection was good and for dinner we had a variety of dishes including gravlax, goats cheese, chicken liver parfait, steak, chicken breast, pork fillet and sea bass. The hotel grounds were very nice and we both felt relaxed and happy during our stay. While we (and by 'we' I mean 'I') had some minor quibbles (I have worked in hospitality for approx 20 years), these were very minor and barely affected our stay at all. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Staff friendly, hotel lovely, clean and comfortable. Food delicious will definitely return.
