Knutsford the popular Cheshire town is within easy commuting distance of both Manchester and Liverpool and is famous for the Georgian Mansion - Tatton Park, which hosts the RHS Flower Show. Many upmarket restaurants in Knutsford are located on King Street and the surrouding roads

this was recommended by someone we spoke to in a Knutsford car park , we had been to the Tatton Park flower show and were unfamiliar with the area, and needed to eat! This restaurant ticked every box. The staff were great, lots of smiles, the service was great, the interior was fascinating to look at , and best of all the food was tremendous!! I don't usually get into reviews but this was one I couldn't pass by. We live in Northumberland by the way but already I have passed on details of Mae Gaew -- just in case anyone is passing --- . A five star experience!

Great venue, great food and great service - for a pub. Very family orientated and outside dining always a plus in the summer. Get there early, especially at weekends, to avoid disappointment. The only downside would be that service can be slow, mainly for the reason above, but with young children it can lead to frustration all round!

Stay away.Food lacks flavour, portions are child sized, menu descriptions inaccurate, service slow and all grossly overpriced, when related to the quality Complaints are not accepted and left unresolved by disinterested management. Pub has a reputation locally for barring complainers so beware..

I first visited Gusto as part of a party from work and I loved the vibrancy and the atmosphere, even on a Tuesday night the restaurant has a buzz about it. Whether your with a big party or just a table of 2 I have always found the service to be great and the food very tasty... My favourite is the flat rump steak but I always save room for the Tiramisu its the best around

NOT HAPPY I reserved a for 10 at this restaurant for my birthday celebrations, 1 week prior to the booking, I confirmed this the day before. When we arrived they showed us to a table for 4, i explained that we had booked for 10 but there were 9 of us. The maitre d (who was very causally dressed in jean and t'shirt!!) did not apologise but said that of we could wait he would get a table, he did say that his staff had never made a mistake and was quite rude throughout. Eventually we got a table for 8 but they could not provided us with another chair and we were told that we 'should be lucky we got a table', they expected the 9th quest to stand!!! We left the restaurant due to the maitre d's shocking attitude and had a lovely meal in Shamoli just down the road who fitted us in and were lovely and the birthday night was not runined.. Never got to taste the food here!!!!

I recommend you go somewhere else. The food is mediocre and the service is appalling. The staff can barely smile and act as if they are doing you a favor. The few staff that were pleasant were hopeless. The manager was rude to the point of hostile. How he can work in the hospitality industry is baffling. It was a shockingly bad experience. NEVER AGAIN

The Dun Cow has recently been taken over by new management in July 2009. My husband and I expected good things as the same team and chef catered our wedding this year and all our guests raved about the food. We ate in the restaurant last night and the food was amazing. The quality, presentation and attention to detail made us feel like we were in a top restaurant, not a country pub. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The setting is a traditional, cosy pub, but the food is by no means pub grub - superb! We can't wait to go again and take our friends and family. Good work Barry and Marc.

The chef has left this restaurant and can't you tell. David Mooney who has built a great reputation for this restaurant is no longer behind the stove at the Belle Epoque and I think you can tell both in the quality of the food and in the attitude of the staff. Not a good dining experience.

How nice to see this lovely pub sympathetically refurbished after years in the doldrums. The new tenants have created a warm and friendly atmosphere, with the promise of open fires in the winter. The Robinson's beer is well kept and there's a decent, although short, wine list. But I suspect it will be the food that makes the Dun Cow's reputation. It is simply exquisite - none better in the whole of Cheshire! I would recommend you visit and see for yourselves.

My partner and I travelled by train from Manchester to have lunch on 11/09/2009. The pub was clean, cosy and nicely set out. The staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top. We ordered from the 2 course Market fresh menu. My partner ordered the Aberdeen Angus steak burger which he said "was really nice and meaty" the accompanying salsa was lovely as I couldn't resist a taste. I ordered the fish cakes, with Cheshire potatoes and salad. Very fresh and tasty and a nice change from the usual "chips with everything" For dessert I tucked into the apple and plum lattice ordered with lovely ice-cream whilst my partner satisfied his sweet tooth with the strawberries, meringue and cream. He washed this down with a pint of Dizzy Blonde and Tit for Tat (Robinson's), which he says were equally good. Satisfied we headed for the train home. Definitely worth a try!

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at The Cottage. We were very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant and were able to choose from a comprehensive menu. Our evening meals were delicious on both nights, and were cooked to perfection. The staff were both friendly and attentive- nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was also a big success. We felt that the cost of our stay at The Cottage represented extremely good value for money. We shall definitely be making a return visit in the near future

A little gem - great food - ever changing menu and the wines are great. Staff are very good and make you feel relaxed - consistently enjoy my visits and travel 25 miles to get there but its worth it

We visited the Bulls Head in Mobberley for lunch yesterday (12/2/09) after a fairly lengthy period of not going in due to closure and a patchy reputation. What a pleasant surprise, the food was was excellent, my wife had a large Cottage pie, chips and red cabbage all for £2.00!!! Quality was of a high standard as well. I had a fresh cut Gammon with free range egg chips and salad for £5.95. Plus a very well kept pint of Black sheep, all in front of a very welcoming roaring fire and a new owner and staff that certainly know the right recipe for making the pub popular again. Good wholesome food at very competitive prices with good beer and an open fire..............excellent all round. (Children welcome also)

I have visited this pub / restaurant a number of times now and the level of service and standard of food never ceases to amaze me. I have never tasted sea bass like it!!! Although it is tucked away along leafy lanes in Mobberley the place is always full and the atmosphere calming.

Lovely food in a setting that evokes a real feeling of Thailand. The food was delicious, especially the succulent satay, which is well worth a try as a starter. Attentive service with a friendly smile. Definitely worth a trip while in Knutsford.

We held our wedding here in June 2007. What a fantastic place and the perfect choice. We knew the food was great but the whole package was brilliant - the surroundings, the food, the wine, the service - all amazing. We still get people commenting that its the best wedding they've ever been to. People just raved about the menu we chose and the quality of the food. We were also made to feel that ours was the first and most important wedding ever held there. For a wedding venue that's a real accomplishment. The beauty of the Belle though is whether its a wedding or a meal for 2, you won't be disappointed.

Firstly, we had to beg for service even drinks. We waited for well over half an hour before anyone came to take our order for food or drinks, we then waited a further 45 mins for our starter. I had the oxtail which was completely tasteless. The fish cakes were nearly cold -just about passable. Two of our party had the halibut which was overcooked tasteless and lukewarm, and the duck wasn’t much better. I had the lobster which was just okay. When we finished each course, we sat for at least 45 mins before anyone came to clear the plates we literally had to keep flagging someone down each time to clear the table and if we wanted a drink because no one came to the table to ask us if we wanted anything. One of our party had the apple pie which was micro waved soggy and looked like it had come out of a Mr. Kipling's pack. I asked for blackcurrant and lemon sorbet and got ginger and mango When I flagged this up to the waitress she lost her temper and told me this was what I had ordered when it clearly wasn’t and she was fed up and going to get the manager. When someone finally came I said forget it because I just couldn’t be bothered anymore all we wanted to pay the bill and go home (and it was after 11pm by this time). We also had coffee which again was lukewarm We were polite at all times so couldn’t understand why the waitress was so aggressive towards us. So all in all this was one of the worst meals we have ever had.

Absolutely the worst curry I've had in ten years: nowhere near as good as a Tesco ready meal. The food came a couple of minutes after ordering, obviously pre cooked. Chicken tikka dhansak was ordinary not tikka chicken, no lentils and some cold cubes of tinned pineapple chucked in. Jalfrezi tasted of nothing but green chiilis. Fast friendly service and a good atmospehere but why would anyone go here: the food was appalling.
