The Greek

Went here yesterday (Sunday) and thought the place was great. Chicken was juicy and succulent with just the right amount of spice and heat (I had vindaloo, my wife had madras, both spot-on). Starters were not quite as good, although certainly not rubbish by any means. If anything, the main course was 2 or 3 pieces of chicken short of perfection. Definitely worth visiting. Decor, service and food great. Prices? £20 for two of us (no drinks I do have to say)

The best Chinese in the area!! We are regular customers and the staff are very friendly and they make a fuss of us in a discreet 'Chinese' way. The food is delicious and soooo different to the Cantonese food which we also enjoy.

I have been there twice but never had a good experience. Poor service, waitress was very impatient and carried a non-inviting gloomy expression. Food was overpriced and not up to standard. I ordered the saba(mackeral) teriyaki bento set and it was not good. Batter for tempura was too oily, rice portion too little, salad too sour (soaked in vinegar). Most importantly, the mackeral is not up to a japanese restaurant standard. The mackarel tasted exactly the same as my other friends' dishes which were unaju (grilled eel) and ton katsu(pork). Overall not a good experience and in fact, the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever dined in.

I was very disappointed, food was good but service and attitude of some staff was poor, i had booked a table for valentines night and referred them to sugarvines offer, they did not honour the offer and we were disappointed with their attitude, we had to choose from the a'la carte menu and spent a good deal more than we would have, our main courses were a long time coming and were wrong, they apologized and offered sweets on the house.

This restaurant isn't in Leeds city centre, it's about 2 miles outside it on the A65 going out of the city. The description is misleading to anyone wanting to combine a meal here with a visit to the shops or theatre.

Came here in a group of six and for a change ordered starter platters as well as main dishes. The starters were absolutely delicious, especially the spicy paneer and tikka fish - the only snag was that we then had less room for the delicious mains. Always a pleasure though.

We ate at the River Fortune last Friday evening. The service was very friendly and the decor comfortable and smart. The food was absolutely delicious - we shared spring rolls and dim sum for starters and then shared a thai green curry and special massaman curry. All dishes were well cooked, nicely presented and full of flavour. We would highly recommend you try it!

dated visited bibis 16/11/2011first impressions very grand and light eating place, we was shown to table and waiter asked if we would like a drink we asked for few minutes to study wine list , £6.80 for 250ml of white house wine little bit pricey . But then you are paying for surroundings . The waiter came to take our order seemed a little bit in a rush and i asked what a couple of the dishes were he seemed very unhelpful , still not to let it spoil our meal we ordered from a bit over priced menu ..... The food arrived FROM NOT SO FRIENDLY STAFF to be fair my chicken in mushroom sauce was OK not too bad lacking a little seasoning . My friends dish came it was meant to be chicken with mustard and mayo dressing it was tasteless and tasted like mayo dressing only ......on what most of it she left a different waitress claim to clear plates on clearing plates she asked if everything was ok to witch my friend answered no it was taste less and just like mayo dressing no mustard and very bland and she was every disappointed .NO SORRY GIVEN PLATES JUST TAKEN AWAY WITH NO WORDS ...HOW RUDE .... we then asked for bill and were told we need to pay near door on paying bill £5.70 10 service charged had been added . not very good service really ...WOULD NOT VIST AGAIN STAFF UN HELPFULL AND FOOD NOT GOOD ..........

Re: ‘ river fortune 5 st peters place Leeds ls9 8aq While working away in Leeds I asked a fellow colleague where I could enjoy an Chinese meal one evening. She recommended the ‘river fortune’ in Leeds st peters place so we booked a table for the following night. On arriving at the ‘river fortune’ we were warmly greeted by the waiters who swiftly seated us, took our drinks order (what else but sun lik !) and brought fresh, warm prawn crackers while we perused the menu and were spoiled for choice. We ordered a selection of duck ,seafood based dish like beancurd casserole szechuanstyle, black pepper dishes some fried rice and Cantonese sauce when they arrived we could not believe the generosity of the portions, but the subtle spicing and superb quality of the meat and seafood seduced us into eating the lot. We washed it down with a bottle of white wine that was surprisingly good. The total bill for two ( gratuity) was under £40 which indicates excellent value for money, especially considering the generous quantity and high quality of what we had. It was interesting to note that even on a Thursday evening , the restaurant was full and a steady stream of customers (including the local Chinese population ) called in to collect their take-away meals. The river fortune was converted by the Hoque family ,from a dowdy site into a chic’ brasserie style restaurant offering Chinese and Thai cuisine. It opened on 7th November 2011 with 104 covers of contrasting black and cream linen Well done to the Hoque family for developing this successful restaurant, I look forward to returning soon (more reports please )

I've visited Town Hall Tavern on a number of occasions and can safely say I've never been disappointed. A group of 15 of us visited mid-week and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food came out quickly and was delicious, particularly the mussels. The cocktails are also fantastic and a bit different from the usual Cosmopolitans still found in so many city centre bars. I'd definitely recommend a visit to Town Hall Tavern, whatever the occasion.
