We've been eating here for about 3 years and it never fails to satisfy! Great food including great Vegan/ Vegetarian choices all at a very reasonable price. A true little gem!

Fuji Hiro – Leeds City CentreMyself and my Fiance have been to the Foundry a number of times and always enjoyed the excellent service and food. As we had family up for the weekend I thought it was a perfect time for them to enjoy the same. Although the food was still amazing the manager / owner was rushing us to take the order and came back five times. I realise that the restaurant has two sittings 7.15 & 9.15 but this ruined the evening and we were still done in time. Surely a restaurant of this class doesn't have to do this? Unfortunately the Foundry is getting complacent which is such a shame.
The Foundry – Leeds City Centrenot the best restaurant i have to say. As someone who is well-travelled and have passion about food, this place is far from authentic. Its more like a Chinese takeaway than Japanese. On top of that there were too much MSG in the food (No MSG added written on the window- what a lie!), greasy and the tempura is heavily battered!!! Given that there is no much choice of Japanese eating place in Leeds, this probably considered appropriate. Should try Fuji Hiro, or British own Yo Sushi for better sushi. i'll probably wouldn't come here again by choice. If i do, probably because i am coming with colleagues or friends who hasn't got enough exposure about Japanese food. The only pros about this place is the extensive choice of the Japanese bottle beer which are rarity in Leeds and remind me of my days of backpacking in Japan. (minus the whisky tho- the only Japanese whisky that they have is the 'cheapest' version that you could find in Japan. Anyway, whoever is a virgin in Japanese Food and willing to try this restaurant, feel free!!! Judge it yourself!.
Little Tokyo – Leeds City CentreThe service at Chaophraya is appalling if you go there late in the evening. My party of three rang early in the evening to check that it would be ok to arrive at 10pm (restaurant closes at 12am). We were assured that 10pm would be absolutely fine. We arrived at 10pm as planned and it was immediately obvious that the waitresses just wanted to get us out as soon as possible so they could go home probably. We were rushed into ordering. The wine menu was taken away without us even being asked if we wanted any. The starters appeared after literally 2 minutes and weren't very hot - freshly cooked? Don't think so. One waitress seemed to be extremely impatient and stood literally 2 metres away from our table and just stared at us the whole time we were eating. This made the whole experience really uncomfortable. The waitress then cleared the table and poured the remaing mineral water, spilling lots onto the table, she didn't even come back to clean up after herself. After that the bill was plonked onto the table. We were counting out the money and then the dish was immediately taken before we'd even finished putting all the money into it. Basically it was the most rushed meal I've ever had. This service is the worst I have ever experienced, anywhere on the planet, for any cost! Chaophraya is not cheap and the food isn't even that great either. Do yourself a favour and go to McDonalds instead - the food and service are better.
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreLoved the atmosphere in this restaurant - felt very relaxed and very authentic (although others may disagree with me on that). The crystal prawn dumplings and the chicken katsu bento box were delicious and very filling, so I couldn't manage anything heavier than lychee ice cream for dessert, but that was also excellent. Will definitely visit again!
Little Tokyo – Leeds City CentreBAD SERVICE....This was my favourite restaurant until Friday.....unfortunately they have taken to being greedy and having 2 sittings, at 7 and 9pm. I booked a birthday meal for 10 people for 7pm and we were asked to leave our table straight after our main course, with wine still to be drunk on the table, no desert, coffee etc....we were offered at table upstairs in the bar but had to wait in the corridor for 15 minutes until we left, disgruntled. No effort was made to recompense us for the inconvenience, even though we asked. You cannot expect a large party to get through a meal in 2 hours, it's just plain greed, even though we spent £300.
Little Tokyo – Leeds City CentreI would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes good Italian cooking I would say the best Italian Restaurant in Leeds and so authentic, and you are made so welcome.
Viva – Leeds City CentreThis place is incredible. We were there tonight and saw what seemed to be only three chefs manically running around the kitchen to deliver stunning food to a packed house. My girlfriend and I were welcomed warmly by the hostess and waitresses and treated to free warm bread; a nice touch. For starters the onion soup and mussels were absolutely delicious; rich and sweet, and fresh and fragrant respectively. Our mains of halibut and rabbit were out of this world, and came in huge portions! For dessert we ordered a stunning looking strawberry tart and a beautifully presented chocolate 'pot', which finished off the meal perfectly. We will be recommending this to everyone!
Kendells Bistro – Leeds City CentreNot impressed. 1. Food not very tasty. 2. Very small amount of food (chicken balti - 10 pieces of "balti flavoured" chicken and nil else for £8.50). 3. Overpriced. 4. Poor service - and overcharged us - advertised 50% off starter and main course before 6.30pm which we confirmed with the staff on entering. When the bill was produced the wrong starter had been billed (at £7.95 instead of the one we ordered an ate at £3.95). This was corrected, and a new bill was produced, but with only a 30% discount - which we eventually after a long conversation (which included a debate on the terms and conditions of the 50% offer - which they quoted but then said they couldn't provide us with a copy of these terms and conditions) was increased to 50% off "just this once". So overall - advice to the managers of Shebab Express - 1. Don't advertise an offer, that you then decide not to honour after your customers have eaten. 2. Sort the quality and quantity of the food out - there are many other good restaurants in Leeds that seem capable of doing this - a small portion of food may save you money short term, but in the long term your customers will not return.
Shabab Restaurant – Leeds City Centreate at red chilli on a busy Saturday night, party of 7, food and service were both excellent. Couldn't disagree more with reviews which suggest the staff are slow to respond, they were very attentive and efficient. The food was great - my only criticism is that the menu does not offer descriptions - so those less familiar with chinese cuisine aren't sure what they're getting - we had several dishes - some of which were what we expected, others were not! despite this they were all good, highly recommend the aramatic duck - my favourite dish, and the best ive had was here.
Red Chilli – Leeds City CentreI went to slug and lettuce 13 Feb 09 for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty, I had fishcakes, you received two large ones, one with salmon and chilli the other with crab and prawn with a nice salad and reasonably priced. My friend had the sausage and mash, the other friend had chicken tostada and they all looked very nice, would recommend eating here.
The Slug and Lettuce – Leeds City CentreWe went to Maxis, Leeds after reading good reviews online. The food was very good but the service was absolutely awful. The choice of dimsum is really quite extensive and we had a meal of only dimsum. However, at the end of the meal, things went badly wrong ... our son wanted some ice cream and we were promptly served with something straight from the freezer .. literally ... when we couldn't cut into it coz it was rock hard ... the waiter offered to microwave it and when it was clear that we weren't getting anywhere, he just walked away. great food ... horrible service ... overall the service made it a very unpleasant experience!
Maxis – Leeds City CentreI was taken to this restaurant by my fiance on Valentines Day and I was very disappointed because it was suppose to be a buffet all you can eat. They were quick enough to take our money but not as quick to bring the food out and fill empty trays up. There were just scraps of food left in the trays no chips, no rice infact not much of anything. Very, very disappointed.
Maxis – Leeds City CentreThe food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The specials board is 2nd to none as far as I am concerned.
Old Steps – Leeds City Centreover priced average mix of boring tried and tested and very strange food, slack service, seems to be suffering from a more contemporary competition?
Sous Le Nez En Ville – Leeds City CentreAnyone looking for great food at reasonable prices will find a visit to Kendells bistro well worthwhile. Situated opposite the BBC centre and close to the Playhouse Theatre, the restaurant offers a pre theatre early bird menu which is excellent value for money. Our party of four was made to feel really at home, with drinks and unlimited supplies of warm crusty french bread served at the table, while we chose from a menu board which changes daily "so that the chef can cook what's freshest ". Three of us had a delicious salmon fishcake starter, beautifully served, whilst the french onion soup, which is a house speciality, was rated superb by the fourth member of the group. For main courses the majority opted for the Pot au boulanger, a casserole of belly pork, Toulouse sausage and vegetables, delicious and very filling- Chicken breast with tarragon was equally good. What little room was left was filled by Bailey's ice cream, a Creme Brulee, and best choice of all, a pot au chocolat, accompanied by a small jug of double cream, slices of strawberry, and meringue. wonderful. With two bottles of wine included in the price, the bill for four, with coffee came to £25 per head. It was nice to able to shake hands with the Chef, Stephen Kendells, before we left to thank him for a memorable meal. Mr Kendell's previous restaurants in leeds were Leodi's and Paris, both of which had great followings in their heyday. He deserves to have the same success here.
Kendells Bistro – Leeds City CentreWe visited recently on a Friday night. Ambience was great, very relaxed atmosphere, and definitely much better than what we expected. Service from the staff was good, and we got them to recommend the Tapas selection. Food was excellent, and very reasonably priced. Sangria was out of this world. Everybody had a great time. Despite being a big group of 15, we were served very quickly. On top of my highly recommended to visit restaurants. Will look forward to going there again soon!
La Vina – Leeds City CentreFour of us dined here on the Sunday lunch time eat-as-much-you-like buffet. There was a very good selection of dishes and the food was simply fabulous. The place was heaving with people and we were very lucky to get a table, as no doubt this is a very popular place to eat out. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and we shall be back before too long.
