We love the food at the Magpie. There is such a wonderful selection of fresh fish. We had fresh prawns in garlic and crab pate… Our main course… well Devine. Halibut cooked to perfection and fresh haddock sweet and succulent. Just wish we lived closer!

Lovely place to dine. There was 8 of us for a work Christmas lunch - really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, obliging smiling staff, good food at an excellent price. Would definitely visit again.

My wife and I visited The Magpie during a recent stay in Whitby. Excellent fish pie & medium cod and chips. This was not the first time we had visited, we have eaten here several times and never been disappointed.

Yet again a lovely meal of fish and chips with mushy peas staff are always helpful and friendly. This is our favourite restaurant when we holiday in Whitby will be back again next year

Excellent customer service food amazing

Found Oshibi on Google and just had to go as I had spent some time In South Korea and really loved the food. We weren't disappointed the food was fantastic and the service excellent . What a great little restaurant what a gem.

Vine is our go to place for a girls night out. This was for a Christmas party and as usual we weren't disappointed. The three course Christmas menu was out of this world and great value for money. Excellent food and service, thanks for a great night.

Great food, last visited at the old shop and the food is still just as good at the new premises. Service was flawless, lighthearted and pleasant staff. Very clean inside, you can see the kitchen which is spotless. Toilets clean. The dining area is light and airy and felt relaxed. They still sell my favourite Cypriot wine, Thisby, which goes down rather too well. Will be coming back soon.

The staff and the food were excellent as always. The fish and chips are one of the tastiest I have tried in a long while. Thank you to all. We will definitely be back.

I’d been really looking forward to taking my boyfriend here for their birthday, and booked ahead to make sure we were guaranteed a spot, even informing the restaurant that it was for a birthday celebration. I got a confirmation and a reminder the day before of the booking, but turned up to the restaurant to find that our booking was nowhere to be found. Clearly an error and nobody’s fault, but our initial server was fairly abrupt about the whole thing which creates a bit of an atmosphere in the restaurant - “well there’s no space” and walked off. She then went over to speak to a colleague a few minutes later, and came back with some menus, pointed to a table and said “right, you can go there”. It’s such a shame because our actual server for the evening was so brilliantly attentive - I want to say her name was Audrey? - and she was really helpful with the menu and asking after us and how we liked the items, really up for a chat and clearly had a great rapport with the other diners too. Such a shame that there was such a hoo-har at the beginning!

Perfect for a meal combined with a visit to the cinema next door. Excellent food, friendly and efficient service. Delighted to have discovered Giorgio's.

We where on our last night on a trip to York to see the Christmas market and have a break from the woes in life when idley browsing through places to eat on Google maps looking for something oriental. Having now stumbled upon Oshibi and the wife giving it her approval too we decided to book a table for the evening. Upon arriving it feels like a small family orientated restaurant it's not a huge place but that's half of the appeal the staff where very friendly and good with advice about the meals as naturally you have to choose the grill as why else would you go to such a place? The food was amazing and the whole place had a vibe that we hadn't really felt in a long time and really enjoyed the overall experience just wished we had found it a few nights before so we could of gone a few more times! Thank you Oshibi right up there on one of the best experiences of dining we have had.
