Crowns Pizza and Spices – KeighleyI started using the royal oak on a regular basis with friends and family members at Christmas 2008, We have recommended the food and service ever since. On Tuesday the 25th of august 2009 we "the wife me and my 4 year old son" went to the royal oak to eat when entering it became apparent that things had changed no more meal offers and the menu had altered slightly. we ordered a starter (chicken skewers) that my wife (a fully trained and qualified chef of over 20 years) questioned to the extent of " was it home made ????? " it was definitely not unreformed chicken and looked very processed priced at £3.99,Main course was again simple with my wife (the army trained chef) ordering a steak pie i ordered the chicken and leak the food arrived in good time but for some reason my wifes pie was of a good size as id expect from a £8.75 steak pie, my pie arrived and i truly thought it was for my 4 year old son the pie was no bigger than your average small wedge of cheese aprox 90p worth (cheap cheese at that) two small pices of chicken and no sign of leaks, I spoke to the shift manager and he stated that the pie they did prior was a chicken and mushroom and that again was of a far greater quantity but didn't sell and then proceeded to tell me that the steak pie was more expensive and that was why mine was so poxy. Im sorry royal oak but a pie at £8.75 containing steak should not contain 900% more filling than a pie containing chicken and leak, the bill came in at a total cost of £35.94 including drinks i left totally dissatisfied and still hungry having to make additonal food when returning home.I now intend to let every one no what has changed and dont wish for any one else to be dissatisfied to the exspensive exstent we were.
The Royal Oak – WakefieldFood is definitely very good and has improved over the years we have been going. Only problem is the new menu with similar items as before but higher prices, which we have seen rise 40% in the last 2 years making it a lot less value for money
Clough House Inn – BrighouseI came with my friend for the first on Sunday, the restaurant was very busy but imran managed to get me a table. we didn't knew what to order so imran helped in deciding.Great Food, Excellent Customer Service with smiling face. Will definitely come back again with my other friends.
Prashad – BradfordMy husband and myself have just been to the Three Horseshoes for a meal for our anniversary. I can only say that the meal that we had, Steak and Ale pie was the best that we have had for a long time. Not only was the food excellent but it was very good value also. I would recommend this restaurant highly.
The Three Horseshoes – WakefieldThe food at santoro is more Italian than most. Its colourful and inviting without being over the top with a great friendly atmosphere. You can spend as little or as much as you want but still enjoy it. Its my favourite place of all.
Santoro Restaurant – YarmWe had Sunday Lunch here, and it was excellent. I hadn't been for about 9yrs, and my partner hadn't been for 21yrs. The food was great then, and it is the same quality today. ALos same owners since we had both visited! This is a lovely, traditional pub that serves fresh, home made food! No frozen rubbish here! The roast beef was excellent, and cooked to your liking - pink, well done etc. £7.95 for a quality roast dinner, with lovely, efficient friendly service is spot on! The steaks are renowned, so we will definitely go back. Well worth a visit.
The Rythre Arms Steakhouse – TadcasterI ordered a Mushroon Bhuna the mushrooms were out of a can! all three of us ordered different Curry's but they were all the same and the waiter stank of sweat not happy at all it was disgusting.
East – PudseyWe brought my sister, brother-in-law and niece who live in the USA and who are visiting us at present for dinner on Sunday evening. We had sung the praises of this unique restaurant in Bradford with Kaushy Patel winning the award of South East Asian Chef of the Year for three years in succession. They were very impressed with what they saw, with the ambience of the place, the friendly staff and above all with the delicious food on offer. They could see why Kaushy had beaten off all the opposition with her magical culinary skills.
Prashad – BradfordTuscanny Too, on Filey Road on South Cliff does really lovely food. Enjoyed it here.
Tuscanny – ScarboroughReally lovely food. A bit pricier than the usual Italian places in Scarborough but the food is in a different class. Definitely worth a visit.
Lanterna Restaurant – Scarboroughwe went here on the 15/08/09 had a wonderful meal and the best sangria ever friendly staff and a fabulous atmos would definitely go back
Las Iguanas – Leeds City CentreWe live in the USA and are visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Shipley. They are showing us around the country and took us to see Bolsover Castle on Sunday. Afterwards we came here for our dinner. They had told us about this gem of a place in Bradford and that Kaushy Patel had been chosen South East Asia Chef of the Year for three years in succession. So we were in great anticipation when we arrived. We were delighted with the place. The menu was brilliant and the food was simply outstanding. The staff were very friendly and this is certainly a gem of a place. In fact it must be the crown jewel of Bradford.
Prashad – BradfordLovely food, friendly and helpful young staff, give it a go you won't be disappointed
Old Horns Inn – SheffieldMy husband and I eat regularly at the Oyster Catcher. The food is always good, although the service unfortunately isn't. The staff are helpful but always under pressure consequently things get forgotten or arrive very late. On our last visit we were presented with the requested pots of tea, tea is only available for on so two pots arrived, one without a lid as it had been lost and the other very stained and with a chipped spout. The server was very apologetic but it is the attention to detail that is important. The decor is wonderful and moves this carvery well in front of local competition (i.e Tobycarvery) and it is good value. The presentation of the teapots devalued the whole experience - dirty, bits missing - do they care? probably but not completely!
The Oyster Catcher – HullReally wouldn't recommend the restaurant - no atmosphere, cramped and really cheap looking. Food was okay but nothing special, city centre restaurants are far better, if you need something local then I'd stick to a takeaway to be honest.
Curry Lounge – RoundhayThere's new blood at the Maypole in the guise of the lovely Angela and it clearly shows. We are going this evening for their curry night and have had several meals there since the new chef has taken over. The pub serves traditional food alongside dishes such a cajun chicken salad and there's always a pie of the day as well as a good range of specials. There's a decent ale selection and a thoughtful wine choice unlike a lot of pubs in the area and it's obvious that customer service is Angela's key priority. Worth a visit.
Maypole Inn, The – HalifaxWe received a warm welcome and and had three real ales to choose from - the Copper Dragon Golden Pippin was especially good. Lovely patio to enjoy on a warm summer's evening. Keen new owner and her chef will surely put it on the map again after being closed/unsettled for a while.
