Mehfil Indian Brasserie – DoncasterVisited Giorgio's on 27th March 2010 - food was great, menu interesting with some lovely specials. We had booked a table for two at 7pm, didn't get sat down till 7.15 and everything was over by 8pm! It was extremely busy and we were asked to move from our table as soon as we decided not to have a dessert even though my husband still had a drink. We were offered a free drink at the bar but it was so full that there was nowhere to sit down. Service was too fast, we had asked for a starter, pizza course then the main (as is common in Italy) and the pizza and main were brought out together. The calzone pizza was really bland with little filling. The bill was £82 including the service charge but we didn't not want to pay the service charge because of being rushed and asked to leave the table...(my husband said this but it was taken anyway). Food 7/10 my king scallops with lobster sauce and tagliatelle pasta was gorgeous, decor 8/10, atmosphere 5/10 too rushed, service 5/10.
We visited Discovery Bay on Thursday evening. Fortunately I had booked; it was packed, great lively atmosphere. We had a drink at the bar and ordered there before moving to our table. The waiting staff are young and friendly and it all feels nice and relaxed. It's only a small place really (about 40 covers) but the main event is definitely the food. Our meal was absolutely outstanding! We shared a generous mixed platter starter (£6 each) and immediately realised that the kitchen was kicking out quality tastes! The spare ribs were so tasty, with an unusual star anise flavour, The chicken wings were gorgeous and crispy. For mains the other half chose red snapper special (£14), whilst I went for a chicken curry. Both were accompanied with rice and peas. The red snapper was presented on delicious thick slices of honeyed sweet potatoes. My chicken curry was succulent and a massive portion (£9). We took a look at the pudding menu; how disappointed was I that I had no space left, it looked brilliant. In short, whilst I didn't really expect to enjoy the food or ambiance in this place I was really impressed. It's unusual but great value and real quality cooking from the chef Barrington. My only suggestions? The Red Stripe and white wine were barely chilled; they could have done with being ice cold...and the menus (especially the dessert menu) were in tiny font! er that's it! We are looking forward to our return visit....

Moghuls – KeighleyA lovely setting for lunch but not on the sat nav! Food was a culinary delight, it not only looked good but tasted divine. I couldn't eat a sweet but my friend had the five chocolate taster which was fantastic. The service was good both in the bar and the restaurant. We travelled 60miles to meet friends half way and will definitely meet there again. Well done Pipe and Glass.
Pipe and Glass Inn – BeverleyVery popular with locals for eating & drinking (Always a good sign). Good food and good ale in an atmosphere that is genuinely welcoming and not too much of a strain on the pocket. If you like to feel that you have been well fed - this is the place. Set in a scenic location in an old mill- village at the head of the Luddenden valley. Perfect for walkers. Worth finding, --Just head for the Windmills!!
Delvers Inn, The – Halifax13 some walkers some just diners had our lunch there in February. It was great, we were well received and the food was superb, service was very pleasant and we shall meet there again.
Bankhouse Inn – PudseyMy first visit to prashad was like being transported back to my 8 years working in INDIA I was like a kid in sweet shop with a £10 note, where to start.. The the starters we superb the mains all looked marvelous and the sweets well very sweet yum For something a bit different try the masala dosa or the idli Samba then the sweet gulab jaman to take away the hot spice of previous dishes all typical south indian
Prashad – BradfordHaving recently visited The Peppered Pig following a friends recommendation, I have to say that I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the wine choice extensive, the staff were delightful and for certain we will be back!
The Peppered Pig – GooleVery stylish restaurant, very clean. We received a very friendly welcome, the staff are really friendly and attentive. The service is first class and the food is lovely. We had the mixed kebabs, which we couldn't finish however hard we tried! You will not be disappointed, can't wait to go back.
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseMy friends and I have travelled from Hull to Leeds on many many occasions only to eat at this Restaurant. The food is fantastic. The portion sizes are enormous and the service excellent. We have always got chatting to the customers in there as well. Very friendly place. A real gem of a place!
Maureens Caribbean Eat In Or Takeaway – RoundhayCame here for dinner last night and, as usual, was impressed by the food, although the bruschetta was a little heavy on the balsamic vinegar. The kitchen was obviously backed up as our main courses took ages to arrive, but they were perfectly cooked - I always appreciate a restaurant that can serve good mashed potato with its lamb shank. Still a favourite for an inexpensive evening.
Frankie and Bennys – Leeds City CentreA long awaited fine dining experience on our doorstop. The restaurant is modern yet relaxing and the staff were wonderfully friendly from the initial booking to arrival through to leaving. We were shown to our table and offered menus, the food choice is not massive but so tempting it still takes time to decide! Once decided, the food did not disappoint, presented beautifully it tasted as good as it looked. Fresh quality ingredients cooked to perfection. The wine list is not over priced and we opted for the house red which was smooth, easy drinking and good value for money considering the mark up some restaurants add. Overall a very good dining experience and made all the better by the little extra touches - the individual prawn cocktails and shot glasses of homemade soup served as you browse the menu together with the morish homemade selection of breads - well worth further visits and very highly recommended.
