While planning our stay in west Yorkshire, I did research online to find restaurants that were local, but not touristy. I found the Beautiful Restaurant and happy that I did! We were visiting the Alhambra theatre, for a show. And on the Bradford tourist guide we found the Sweet Centre Restaurant. The restaurant was clean and smelled like good home cooking. When we arrived at around 7.30pm it was fairly busy, and we were allocated a table as we booked in advance. We were welcomed very nicely. The food was great, Everything was great! We had fried Masala fish, homemade cornbread dressing like Grandma used to make back in Rajastaan India. I appreciated it very much since It bought back several good memories. Not to forget All the portions were more than generous. Those who surrender to the more audacious dishes on the Sweet Centre menu will enjoy a boldly flavoursome culinary journey. Those who stick to the classics like the Balti dishes, LAMB On the Bone to be precise…. will enjoy nothing less than an impeccably cooked and graciously served authentic Desi meal. Sweet centre, get there and you will get soul food at its best! A must try for those that have authentified taste buds.

The best Thai restaurant in Leeds. Do not entertain Thai Edge and similarly over-priced, over-rated places. This is simply the best, from the opulent decor to the seamless service to the amazing food and all very reasonably priced for what you get. The bigger hotel chains tend to advertise Thai Edge, do yourself a favour and seek out Chaophraya instead.

This has got to be one of the roughest pubs in the north east.The saw dust floor covering does not look out of place.Frequently full of scaffolders or similar people with low intelligence ,you know what i mean.I only hope the new landlord knows what he is doing.

Over-rated and over-priced. Whilst the staff are very authentic and polite they lack the more informal social graces. One of those places people seem to want to be seen in, but not sure why. As I had heard good things I chose 1 of the most expensive starters, filet steak in chilli. It was awful, stringy and tough and almost a tenner. Nowhere near as enjoyable at Chaophraya

Easily the best kept secret in Leeds, so much so that I am a little loathe to sing its praises here! Amazing atmosphere, seems really authentic and so many unusual touches (bridge/seating which gives the impression you are sat on the floor etc). The food is outstanding and so fresh you can taste the outdoors! Try the ginger cheesecake it is outstanding. Great value too.

Recommended for atmosphere, beautiful art deco surroundings and the clam chowder. No recommended for food in general, especially mediocre pizzas. Way over-priced for what it is and service friendly but slow. Also beware of over-charging on drinks.

Indian food that's actually like the food you get in India!! A tremendous place

I eat at Prashad because I value the quality of the food. I believe that when food is made with love and care, those sentiments can be tasted, digested and in turn manifest again in the energy that the food provides. A Prashad thali makes me feel good, and feel like doing good things :) I eat at Prashad because I value the love and care of the people that work there. Bobby and Imran are the restaurant front-line, are friendly, attentive, genuinely interested in the customers who have come to share their space, and make me feel like a friend, rather than just a mouth and a wallet. Kaushy and Mohan are like a rays of sunshine, clearly taking great pride and interest in the experience of the diner, always ready to chat about not just "how was your meal?" but "how are you?" The kitchen team I haven't met, but the cheerful sounds and laughter that often accompanies food preparation is a heart warming appetiser to any meal. Shy Minal sometimes pops her head out to see that her efforts are being well received, and of course they always are. I eat at Prashad because I know that, as a vegetarian, whatever I order from the menu will be delicious, consciously prepared and of a quality leagues ahead of any other restaurant not only in the North, but also, I am becoming increasingly convinced, in the whole of the UK. This is no idle appraisal - my partner and I are happy to travel around and eat in new places, and rarely do we find such a balance of quality and value. I love that despite their obvious success, Prashad have stuck to a philosophy of awesome food at affordable prices. This sense of fairness spills over into the charitable endeavours that Prashad are constantly involved with, and in supporting Prashad I know I am also helping them to continue making a difference in the wider community. I eat at Prashad because the atmosphere is welcoming, the music that accompanies the meals always interesting and unusual - no thoughtless muzak here. I always leave with a feeling of satisfaction. I can't recommend a visit highly enough - whether you are vegetarian or not, the food here takes centre stage. Dishes are full of character, and speaking as someone that has travelled extensively (eaten my way!) around India - high quality, authentic Gujarati fare.

Very good Restaurant with very good service and most of all best food at the end I enjoyed free Mukhvas specially opened for us. I also remember the head from Zimbabwe our connections. best eating out experience i had in uk ...... Im a friend of the hugils from hebden bridge ..

we recently had a meal at the crooked billet and I'm sorry to say that it was the worst the meal i have ever had, we have been going there for a few months before hand and we really enjoyed the service and the fantastic food that the billet was offering, so we returned on a regular basis, as of a week ago for some reason the quality of service and food has dropped to a level that quite frankly is disgusting the regular manager was not there and the manager at the time was rude and frankly did not care about our complaint, we are sorry that the standards have dropped so much because we did really enjoy going there in the past...

Great food, great wines, excellent real ales, lovely staff. Quite a wide choice on the menu and they have daily specials on the "Hymn Sheet". Generous portions too. Lovely friendly atmosphere with real open fires and a nice mix of passers-by and locals. Nice rooms too if you want to stay a night or more.

The atmosphere at Cattlemens is always fun and friendly, they catered well for our large party as well as when it was just the two of us dining. The staff are friendly and attentive The steaks are by far the best in Yorkshire and really good value for money. Always cooked just the way you like them. We watched someone try the "Steak Challenge" and the staff really egged them on and encouraged them, it was fun to watch, we all clapped afterwards. Don't forget to leave room for a pudding though!

Excellent food has been from the very beginning when it was the tiny restaurant over a decade ago, highly recommended never disappoint
