Pub or restaurant meals very generous and reasonably priced. The steak pie is heavenly but do try to leave some room for the treacle pud. I cant go without mentioning the home cooked REAL chips. But if you only want a salad you will not be disappointed as these are generous. Often busy but without a hurried atmosphere, staff always friendly and caters for all age groups , very popular with the greying set but don't let this put families or couples off, all are welcomed. Strange mix of modern and traditional decor but comfortable for bar meal. Very good value

Veggie restaurant where the first person to book a table on an evening gets to choose the theme of the food. They like a challenge, so Peruvian is welcome!

I am afraid that i can not agree with the other reviews. My partner and i went last night for the early bird special and our experience was not enjoyable. My partner asked the waiter what was served with the Parma Ham starter and the reply was 'what do you mean its Parma Ham and Melon' although when the starter arrived it was a platter of Fruits with Parma Ham - the waiters approach was not at all helpful. And to make matters worse the Melon was not even ripe. The Garlic Bread does not have any Tomato on as stated on the menu! Main Course was very bland and extremely greasy the Pasta dish was served with Broccoli and a Garlic Cream sauce and was not at all appetising. The 2 waiters did not at any point throughout the main course ask if we were happy/everything OK. On paying the bill the girl behind the bar asked if everything was OK we told her no all she said was sorry! I will not be recommending the Restaurant and certainly will not be returning.

Lovely old village and old pub with terrific ambiance. Well worth repeated visits if only to enjoy the draught beer (Timothy Taylor's) and the excellent young staff who are attentive without being obtrusive, very polite and extremely helpful. The same can be said of the manager.

Lunchtime special menu for a fiver! Nice modern surroundings wooden floor, beech etc, with hints of oriental pictures and bamboo, bright and airy, nice and clean. Service and food excellent. Specials board which looked interesting and inspires another visit. Serving customers of all age groups when we visited with obvious regulars (late season-lunchtime), nice atmosphere not hurried with our meal at all and felt very relaxed. I would visit again.

Maybe it was due to the fact that there were 23 of us but I visited Romanos last night and found it appalling! I ordered Minestrone soup for starters which tasted like a pot of pepper had been dropped in it and didn’t come with any sort of bread which to me is something of a requisite when it comes to soup. For my main course i ordered steak with garlic butter I ordered it medium but when it came it was rare i would even go as far as saying it was blue it was that bloody. Like i said previously there were 23 of us but they had been told in advance we were coming and we had all told them what we wanted to eat. I really was speechless as to the quality of this restaurant. I was highly disappointed as were my colleagues. Needless to say I wont be going to this place again it is highly overpriced and the quality of food is atrocious. We weren’t only the ones who didn’t enjoy we did over hear a couple also complaining about the food. Stay well clear is my advice unless you have money to throw away!

Hated this place - was greeted by surly staff who told us to wait while they figgled with computer- restaurant was empty,but seated under air conditioner, menu slapped down on table and left without offer of drinks. Decided to leave without ordering. The bar was full of teenage girls tanking up for what looked like a big night out. Don't go there if you want a quiet evening, there are better restaurants just up the road D.Taylor

This was our 2nd visit and like the time before just as fabulous. Both occasions were to celebrate our wedding anniversary and David made them both nights to remember. We shall be coming back again and again, it's that GOOD !!!!!!.

We’ve been going ever since it opened I think the food is excellent the waiters are very friendly and the service is brilliant id recommended it to anyone, you will not be disappointed!!

Under the current ownership/management, it's very child-friendly, as the manager has a young family himself. (Previous comment from 2003 may refer to previous management). The fine food is extremely high quality, and the staff are always friendly. You always get a good welcome. Mark also cooks the best take-away fish and chips in the world (ring for frying times). I always take my guests to this pub, as you can rely on consistent quality.

Ate here on Saturday night, and what a delight it was. Excellent food, polite staff, great atmosphere and outstanding value for money. Will definitely be revisiting in the near future.

This is a nice looking restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food is excellent and I rarely spend more that a tenner on a main course and there's always too much! Well worth a visit if you're in the Donny area.

Some thing has changed at Valentinos. The staff seem really happy and the food quality is excellent. I dined regularly at bibis but i now will dine at Valentinos. Perfect night out and value for money too. Well done

Decided to try somewhere else instead of Sheffield for a change, and based on recommendations on Sugarvine tried this one in Darton. What a great find, the food is simply made but cooked with great delicateness. My sisters Butter Chicken wasn't just an overpowering butter flavour but nicely nuanced. My Chicken Shashlick Karai had both the marinate and the curry flavour when you sampled it. Overall a nice place, would happily recommend and will come back in the future. Note a buffet on a Sunday £7 for a variety of courses, take your pick.

Recently re-opened under new management and refurbished the restaurant is as good as ever. We went the second week of opening and was delighted with what they have done to the place. The decor is very contemporary, but not over the top. There are lovely leather settees to sit and wait for your table and dining chairs match in colour and comfort. Far better than the old wooden chairs that were there before. During August and September they are only doing a buffet, so initially was a little disappointed bur not for long. There is plenty of choice from the buffet and something for everyone. The starters had all the traditional things but there were a few added extras such as smoked salmon, and a greek salad among other things. The main courses had a variety of dishes as did the dessert menu. All in all a very good meal for a set £12.95 each. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for an enjoyable night out in good surroundings, and at a great price. Finally, the staff are very attentive and again far better than before.

I took my boyfriend here for lunch. We were both extremely hungry and hoping that the place would live up to the expectations created from the glowing reviews previously posted. We opted for the chefs special that was specified in the menu. I tried a Balti Fish and my boyfriend selected The Balti Lamb (off the bone), accompanied with a side dish of lentils and spinach. It was simply 'different' to what we normally have. The pillau rice and naans were extremely tasty and went well with the meal. The ambience and staff were extremely polite and helpful. The food is very tasty and feels healthy as you eat it. We ordered orange juice and a glass of mango lassi which i strongly recommend to all. Ps" Nice Fish Tank" and a must try place for all those seeking authentic food.
