6 of us visited on June 12th and we had a table on the terrace. This is my 2nd visit and most definitely won't be my last. The terrace has really been thought about and is so pretty and comfortable. Food and drinks are excellent. Love the fact that you can just order bites. We tried the giggle juice and sangria. Both were delicious but the sangria is one of the best we've ever tried. The staff are really nice too and make sure you have a great experience.

Very disappointed We have been going to this restaurant for years But on our recent visit the food was poor Small portions burnt scampi and onion rings and the steaks very fatty . The main courses were terrible The food has definitely declined drastically! Waste of money.

After hearing amazing things about The Lancaster Arms, we decided that was where we celebrate our anniversary as well as our first trip out since the easing of lockdown. Was it worth it YES. The atmosphere was brilliant with lots of happy diners, the staff were helpful down to the fact they made sure our dog's water bowl was full. I was particularly impressed when one diner had a niggle about a salad and the waitress was happy to hear the issue which she dealt with and said she would pass on the comments to teh kitchen. We chose to sit in the Gin Terrace, which was the best decision as they stock our favourite brand The music selection was ideal for a lazy Sunday lunch where we did not feel rushed to finish so other diners could be seated. The food was good and plentiful and a nice Sunday selection. I can understand why people speak so highly of The Lancaster Arms and especially the welcome you receive and we will definitely be back

I haven't used the Red Lion since 2019 as the service and quality had gone downhill. I was pleasantly surprised when we decided to visit on Saturday 12th June as the staff were friendly and extremely efficient, it was nice to be in a restaurant where you were made to feel important. My wife had fillet steak and said it was really nice and I had a selection of tapas which were goof value for money.

Fantastic food, one of the best Indians we have had in a long while. The staff were very accommodating and kind, and the atmosphere was great. We both throughly enjoyed the evening and are already planning a return visit with family.

My family and I have visited this pub many times and we've always been relatively please with the service and food. It's standard pub grub, it's what is expected and what you get... Apart from our last meal there... It was the worst meal out I've ever had and I've had many. I wasn't going to write a review, but after the way the manager made us feel, I'm doing it. I'm on crutches at the moment and we waited at the door to be seated for several minutes. 5 different waiters/waitresses passed us with out even any acknowledgement or thought. Eventually, the manager checks us in. We ordered from the app and drinks came promptly after ordering... Brilliant! But the food came later and was the worst mixed grill we've ever had. I understand you pay for what you get, so I knew it wasn't going to be fine dining. But my god, I couldn't tell what meat was what, it was all the same colour .... Pinky, smelled weirded, nearly all the meat tasted the same and tasted off. The only ok bit of meat was the gammon, which actually tasted like gammon. As soon as I finished the gammon, I moved onto the steak which tasted really off, a taste I can't describe but I definitely question if I was going to be Ill later on. I sampled tiny bits of other meats and left it, only eating the spuds, mushroom and egg. The sausage was pink in the middle, pork didn't tasted like pork and I couldn't tell you what one item was but it was I mixture between a battered up terrible belly pork or an attempt at a lamb chop? We did hear another table questioning the steaks too and they left it uneaten. The waitress was lovely and I politely explain the meal was not great and pointed out the meat colours, smells and tastes etc.... She apologised and got the manager. Excellent customer service skills. The manager did not take criticism well, we felt lied to and belittled. Her response to us pointing out the issues was "you're the only ones to complain and we've sold loads tonight " and "you're the first to complain lately". We didn't want our money back, we just wanted acknowledgement of the problem. She was very defencive and not once did she apologise... She said she will box our food up and check the batches and the butcher where it came from. So after making us feel like we must be crazy because we were the "only people to complain" She then patronisingly asked us, " is this your first time eating out" looking at us gone out - she must be meaning after the pandemic .....but seriously, she definitely thinks we're mad. Then before taking the food away, she agrees the food is all pink in colour and shouldn't really look like that. This is the best bit, the chef said the grill had already cooled down and wasn't warm when the chef put the meat in ... funny, I thought she said they've sold loads tonight ? My concern was if it's pink ( sausage) it's not cooked, but she comforted me with telling me it was all cooked to the correct temperature. Humm, I'll be the judge of that later if I'm seeing it again sooner than expected. She gave us a bottle of wine, fare enough, but she definitely could of had better customer service skills here, especially for a manager. Over all, I'm just disappointed. I have a photo but I can't see how to add it here... Nice a pinky

Ive always loved the Old Red Lion. You know where you stand. Decent food at a good price and you always leave full and satisfied. As long as you don’t go on a Sunday evening. The staff clearly didn’t want to be there, let alone forced to do table service! Not what I expected from my visit as I’ve always had better service there. I will return but not in a hurry.
