Souvla – Liverpool City CentreDecided to come here to celebrate boyfriend’s birthday and the restaurant is really nice, comfy booth seat and music created a very good atmosphere. We ordered starters and drinks which arrived promptly, however we had to wait 35 minutes for our mains which wasn’t great as the restaurant was not busy and we were only a party of two, and other tables that arrived after us got served before and had finished their meal before we got our mains. It’s a shame because the food was really good!
Whats Cooking – Liverpool City CentreIt's a hidden gem this place, the food was so fresh and tasty. Didn't have to wait long and it was literally cheap as chips.. Defo eat here again before the theatre Thank you
Ma Egerton’s Stage Door – Liverpool City CentreLovely food good value for money. All the staff where friendly & welcoming & always on hand if we needed anything.
Whats Cooking – Liverpool City CentreWhat a fantastic place! A pub which remembers all of its past famous patrons who were stars of stage and screen going way, way back to the likes of Vesta Tillie, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton , right up to our much loved and missed Paul O'Grady. I only scored the atmosphere low because it was very quiet when we were there. I'm sure it's normally buzzing when the Empire is open. Service was great and the food was excellent.

Whats Cooking – Liverpool City CentreBooked a table one week before arriving in Liverpool for the weekend. Atmosphere and the staff were lovely. However, the main course was terrible. The waitress apologised for our wait having waited around 30 minutes after our starter had been cleared. My wife had the 'easy brie-zy' burger. under here fries was a receipt. I had the chicken burrito which was cold and the rice that was served with it had clearly been reheated or left under the warmer. I asked the manager to touch the rice, and they agreed this wasn't an acceptable standard. 20% knocked off the bill but given both out meals were not eaten this doesn't represent value for money and is a poor experience to say the least. We will not return. Wetherspoons would have been better and at 25% of the cost. Hopefully this was a one off rather than the norm...
Whats Cooking – Liverpool City CentreFirst time coming here. Nice atmosphere, nice food. I had the ribs which were lovely. My children had the kids burger and kids chicken goujons. Just a heads up, the goujons are plain chicken and not breaded, my daughter is autistic so wouldn’t eat them. Not a problem for most people but just thought I’d mention it. My husband had a burrito but it wasn’t what he was expecting. He ate it but said he’d had better elsewhere and would pick something else next time. The view of the docks was lovely and my kids liked looking out at the boats. We had to leave early due to my daughter getting upset and not calming down, but for the time we were there we would go back. Only negative point I would say was myself and my two daughters nipped the loo and my husband said the waitress tried to take our plates mid eating without asking first which he was a bit put off by. They are 3 & 5 so couldn’t wait until we had finished eating! Overall we would try there again.
