The food is fantastic, | ordered soup which was really tasty but wish I'd ordered whitebait, which I love, tasted my friends ,it was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Mixed seafood platter was fantastic, my friends all said how good their dishes were, french onion soup and a pork dish with risotto, best risotto they have ever tasted. Hanover Street Social – Liverpool City CentreGreat food, great value, great service and great atmosphere, no reservations on booking again and please enjoy. Well done to the owners and staff of the Tai Pan for providing Liverpool with a Premier eating house. Henry - October 2011
Tai Pan Restaurant – Liverpool City Centrebeen twice now, once for breakfast in the midweek and today for Sunday meal after viewing the Magritte exhibition. Food excellent on both occasions, staff attentive and friendly. Catered well for an age range from 6-56, and for meat eaters and vegetarians. Will definitely go again - maybe try afternoon tea next.
Cafe Rouge – Liverpool City CentreWonderful place ... the fish & chips in Liverpool
Lobster Pot – Liverpool City CentreWe found Bacchus after looking on the website, we where so excited we knew Diamond from his old restaurant .We had a lovely evening and a wonderful welcome from Diamond and his staff cant wait to return food excellent as always was best wishes Vivienne and mike
Bacchus Taverna – Liverpool City CentreMyself and my girlfriend went here for dinner recently with high hopes as it had been recommended by a number of different friends. All I can say is that we either got it on a bad night or it has gone downhill since our friends went. We were sat upstairs and my seat was in a part of the restaurant that was a thoroughfare for the waiting staff and anyone going to the toilet. We asked to be moved but all the other tables were booked. Perhaps it was a mistake to get one of the set menus as it was basically Chinese food. We've eaten in a number of Thai restaurants and it simply wasn't Thai cooking - no discernible coconut, lemon grass or chilli or any of the aromatic spices that characterize Thai food. It was competent but hardly inspired and the type of food that you could get in any half-decent chinese, although for a lot less than this restaurant would charge you. The service was polite but not particularly friendly and the food was served very quickly making you feel that you were on something of a conveyor belt. Having had 3 courses and a bottle of wine, we were in and out in 1hr 10mins £85 lighter and feeling a bit cheated.
Chaophraya – Liverpool City CentreI recently had a meal at the Maharajah in Liverpool with a large group of friends to celebrate my birthday. The meal was excellent and Ali and the rest of the staff really looked after us well. It was good to have the banquet and to be able to sample the wonderful variety of food that they have on their menu. As they claim on their website, their food is very different from most Indian restaurants in the UK, featuring seafood and duck dishes as well as the usual chicken and lamb. Their vegetarian dishes and side dishes are also delicious as well as their range of breads and rice. Try the dhosas! I would also recommend their seafood soup and their ‘rice pudding’. Just writing this makes me want to go back for more!
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreThe service at the cafe was brilliant the food out of this world reminds me of nans cooking in her heyday

The Italian Club – Liverpool City CentreWe booked a table for 9pm on a thursday evening at San Carlo on Castle Street. We Arrived at about 8:50pm and straight away informed them that we were there, we got directed to the bar which although very nice to look at, is very small and with people sitting around it, very hard to get served!! We waited about 15 mins to order a drink, with me in the end having to wave my arms in front of one of the few bar staff face. The restaurant was very busy with 35+ yrs old business types and had quite a upty vibe! We waited until half 9, with no one approaching us to explain when we were going to be seated, instead we had to keep addressing the receptionist who didn't seem to care customers were unhappy. 'It will be about 5 mins', wateva, at 5 to 10pm we decided to walk out as we were so disappointed we didn't want to spend our money there. The food may be great but we'll never know because we'll never gpo back. Awful service!!! After we walked out a waiter followed us and explained that our table was now ready... quite surprised they even noticed we left!! Think the restaurant has got too big for its own boots and needs to remember its roots!!!
San Carlo – Liverpool City Centrenice atmosphere, will go and visit again.
The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen – Liverpool City Centreis good food
Lobster Pot – Liverpool City CentreVEGETARIANS BEWARE!! This place is the pits when it comes to customer satisfaction and respect. I called the restaurant (or cafe more like it) before visiting to ask about set meals, the woman was cold, abrupt and rude enough to ask me to call back later because she was busy!! I went along out of convenience anyway. When my friend and I arrive we are ushered to a table by the same blatantly ignorant lady owner and shoved the menus. We enquire if the set meal for two could be catered to a vegetarian option for ONE of us, "no" we're told as "it's set as it is and cannot be changed!" Little Miss Misery moans. Astounded but by now very ravished we decide she will choose from the standard menu instead and I from the specials menu. We get to the point of ordering and are then told that I cannot order from the 'set specials' menu as it's for a minimum of two people!! I explain they have unreasonably refused to consider a meat free meal and that's why I've made the choice from two different menu's...help!! I ask the seriously ignorant owner is she willing to see customers walk out and go elsewhere! What does she do? Shrugs her shoulders pathetically and walks off ha ha. I told the waitress she wasn't getting paid for the drinks after wasting my time and left with a belly full of satisfaction the didn't get a penny of my wealth!! Ignorant, inconsiderate and resentful of customers if they don't tow her line. Headed for a delicious Indian mean instead and served a meat-free no hassle meal with polite, respectful staff. For the pleasure I gave a fat tip. Avoid Jumbo City please.
