We had a Pre Theatre meal.I had pre booked and arrived 15 mins early.Our table was ready and waiting for us.We had the Scouse this time and it was really tasty.I love scouse and have had it in a few locations when we visit Liverpool,but this is by far the best Ma Egerton's is the perfect location for a pre theatre meal.The Pizza's are as good as the Scouse and the food is very reasonably priced.The service is super friendly,and the atmosphere really good and friendly.The pictures on the wall of the stars who have frequented the pub in the past is fascinating to look at. Ma Egerton's has a traditional pub feel but with excellent food and super friendly staff. Would recommend booking in advance if going for a pre theatre meal.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Very good value for money.

Atmosphere and service was great a lovely vibe with the Christmas decorations. However a slight issue was that my food was a little cold when coming out. Whereas my partner's was lovely and steaming hot. So was a little disappointed however food still tasted great.

Disappointed. Asked for a dry white wine which tasted sweet and noticed something floating on it. Replaced with clean glass but still sweet. Opted for cab sav next which was much better. Went for haloumi and mushrooms as starters but both very dry and smothered with salt. Mains were ok, salmon and rice good but probably won't go back.

Service was impeccable, really attentive and food was lovely, great atmosphere fun and friendly

The was my second visit in the last couple of months and we had a great time again. The food was reasonably priced and a good selection, particularly for vegetarians. Enjoyed the cocktails too. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back!

Always amazing, great food and lovely service

The ribs usually fall off the bone but they were very tough! I got a replacement with no fuss but was still disappointed The service was great and very professional

The menu options were great, with some creativity to each option, and choices you don’t often see. The food itself didn’t live up to the menu though and could be improved. Atmosphere is lovely, but service could have been a little more attentive.

Great atmosphere, attentive service, tasty food, will definitely be back!

Best Scouse in Liverpool in an historic pub would highly recommend

Very busy when we arrived but drinks and starters arrived promptly. 6 main meals were ordered and there were significant delays between them coming out. 5th meal was 10-15 mins after others and had to chase twice for 6th meal. It arrived after we had all finished so we refused it. Staff were apologetic and removed from bill and gave 50% off. Disappointing experience

Fabulous pub. Great atmosphere and gorgeous food.

Been going to what’s cooking since it opened. Few things have changed but still great ribs and burgers. No salad anymore with burger. We normally add ribs on the combo burger but it was not on the menu in the restaurant. Waiter didn’t know about it but it’s still advertised on the online menu on the website. Waiter said he couldn’t add the ribs as advertised. Still a great meal, environment and view over the docks.
