Rafe

An absolutely brilliant place to chill out with friends. Chris was in his element as owner manager and genuinely loves his work. The bar selection is impressive and well run by Claire and Cora. The food choices are amazing and chef Mark an asset to the establishment.

I've been a regular to Villa Romana for many years and can't recommend it enough. It's not as fancy as some of the other Italian restaurants in Liverpool but the food is authentic, it's relatively cheap and it has a great atmosphere. I once saw Andrea Corr in there!!

The best Indian restaurant in Liverpool. There are loads of chutneys that come with the free popadoms and they are all amazing.

We live 5 minutes walk away and have enjoyed its unusual food and atmosphere since it opened. We?e come as a couple, brought friends for a quiet meal and even had a raucous night with a party from work. Every time, we have been treated to a welcoming, sophisticated, non intrusive atmosphere with a wide choice of tasty dishes. One comment on the works night out was ? have never had such a wide variety of tastes in one meal? Our recent favourites are the Oriental Lamb Cutlets (juicy lamb cutlets on egg noodles), the Seabass served with kedgeree style rice and Khamuns Mushrooms is a savoury dish of mushrooms in a birds nest contraption made of potatoes. The menu changes occasionally and we miss the Seared Steak with Sugar Snap peas (it was not for the squeamish - the steak was mouth wateringly red in the middle). Service is good and on the occasions we've waited we have been kept informed. I would recommend this place for those who want a regular restaurant or for those who like to notch up ?nteresting restaurants they have tried?

We have eaten here on several occasions, most recently New Years Eve, cannot recommend it highly enough. Food is always to the highest quality, as is the service. The restaurant itself is nicely set out, not smoky, clean and very smartly decorated. Children are also very welcome and catered for.

This is in fact my second review. Earlier I'd complained about the coconut chutney with the Dosa. This time I told them beforehand and they came up trumps and had just the right consistency of coconut chutney with their dosa. Also gave me the extra helping of Samber! Recently in London, I ate at the Chennai Dosa, a chain in London. To be honest, I thought the Sambar of Maharaja was far superior to that served at Chennai Dosa. So Full marks on Samber chaps! Three slight niggles still - just to prove no bias - Chennai Dosa served the green and red chutney which is traditional with dosa's. But for some reason Maharaja did not do this. Also in the potato masala mix I believe it is traditional to put mustard seeds which were missing. Those three niggles aside, I think the Maharaja Dosa is very nice and overall better than that at the Chennai Dosa which also gets good comments. To be even-handed, I should add that Chennai Dosa only charge £2.40 for a masala dosa, while Maharaja charge like £6.50, but I think the Maharaja one is well worth it. So overall I'd give it a 7 to 8 out of 10, if they got the red/green chutney sorted, and the mustard seeds in the masala then I'd have given a 10/10. If you haven't yet tried a Dosa, then you must visit this place, you will not be disappointed.

I have been to the Liverpool Damon's countless times in recent months, and every time I have been very satisfied. Last time I ordered a 6oz burger - quality/taste of meat was excellent and no sugar-filled sauces needed to cover poor quality like other restaurants do! The service is lightning fast, prices are very reasonable & on a birthday you get entire meal free. You also get free warm bread before starters, and the little touches like that make the difference! Coffees may come complimentary at the end of the meal also, not too sure. Excellent restaurant - and I am a hard bloke to please!

We dined at this restaurant on a Saturday I would recommend booking a table as it was very busy and they were turning people away at the door. Food was excellent and all courses were delicious would definitely recommend this restaurant if you love Greek food. The only gripe I would have would be that the restaurant is not non-smoking, and the people sitting directly behind us were constantly smoking in between their courses which was when we were eating and being a non-smoker that does annoy me. But other than that is was a lovely place will be going again.

We go here on a regular basis, can't speak highly enough of the place... We've tried most of the Indian restaurants in Liverpool City Centre & without doubt this is the best one. The chef is excellent, the service is excellent, the price is right (& even better if you can get your hands on an NUS card). The regular custom comments speak volumes - what more needs to be said - get down there & order yourself a chicken makhonwalla!

Indian Delight – Liverpool City Centre
New Orchid Garden

The restaurant offers a very friendly service, although some dishes are rather expensive, there is plenty of choice to appeal to most. It is well worth the visit!

Breakfast for under £4.00 with tea or coffee. Open until 11pm at night. Very fast service for fully home cooked food. Arab style food not normally available in Lpool, suitable for vegi's. Restaurant very popular with students and suitable a quickcheap bight before the cinema. NOTE: Kimos moved to new premises nextdoor (on Mount Pleasant) in Dec 2006.
