Having visited on numerous occasions at different times of day and night over the past 3 years, I can confidently say that this is my favourite restaurant. The food is always wonderfully fresh and perfectly cooked with an excellent selection available. The service is unpretentious, friendly and efficient unlike some of the more pricey restaurants I have visited and the bustling atmosphere just adds to the wonderful ambience.

I went for my birthday night out with my girl friends very recently. Knowing that we always have a good night out wherever we go - but this was the best night out by far as agreed by everyone. The atmosphere was amazing - the chef's delightful and extremely friendly and the food out of this world!!! We had a really good laugh and have already booked ourselves in for another night. Most definitely the best restaurant in Liverpool. Try it!!!!!!

This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to in the UK. Everything was amazing. The food, surroundings and staff. I have been many times since and I cannot fault the place. Value for money the restaurant is outstanding. For 4 people having 3 courses, wine, beer and soft drinks the bill was 90 pounds, which we couldn't complain about. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The service, food and surrounding at Sheldrakes are exceptional. The staff are helpful and accommodating. A splendid restaurant, well worth a visit.

The Maharaja seems to be one of Liverpool's best kept secrets. In one way, now I've discovered it, I'd like it to stay that way, so that it can maintain its wonderful standards and unhurried ambience. But on the other hand, I'm concerned that being a little off the beaten track it's missing out on many potential customers, and possibly may struggle to survive. The food is SO DIFFERENT - but oh SO GOOD. The first time we ate there, it was with four friends all of whom had been to Kerala and they all said it was so reminiscent of their times there. With the help of the ever so friendly staff, we chose a range of veggie and non-veggie (mainly fish) dishes and just shared them all. Everything was wonderful, but just to mention a few. The pre-meal nibbles and freshly prepared pickles (not a giant poppadom or dollop of gloopy mango chutney in sight). The Keralan fish. The squid massala. The fried aubergine, I could go on. We ate well, enjoyed a variety of flavours and textures. We also drank beer and wine and the bill still only came to about £18 each. Try the Maharaja for yourself, I guarantee you won't be disappointed - then tell your friends.

Great restaurant, food is excellent. Tried the Staff special which was one of the best Indian dishes I have ever tasted. Would definitely recommend this place.

This restaurant is amazing, the service was second to none. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant. The bar is also great although a little pricey. At weekends you will find a live band on although not too loud which is a welcome when dining out.

This is the best roast dinner I have ever tasted, even better than my mum's. And the price was outstanding. Highly recommended for families.

Both my date and I had a fantastic evening. Both the food and the ambience were perfect, and the staff were very attentive without being overbearing. I will be recommending to friends. My only wish is that I could do it more often, but it was such a special evening that I would only return with the same company.

Having been to Jalons several times, I always fine the food and service amazing. The staff are always lovely, even when they are really busy. The staff behind the bar often have to manage huge orders and washing glasses at the same time. Paul, the resident pianist, is amazing, and if you ever dine there, which I hope you will, request American Pie because he sings it very very well!

It? a lovely place to eat very pleasant surroundings. Food is better than average and the service is excellent. I really enjoy visiting this restaurant a real flavour of Cyprus!!

I have eaten here on a regular basis since it opened and have recently noticed that the usually high standards are slipping. Not sure why this is happening, but it is disappointing as it all started so promisingly. There is no doubting its popularity. Its location, ambience, food and prices all add up and have made it one of the culinary hotspots in the city centre. It is just a pity that some staff are not as helpful and efficient as they could be. Also, the management has recently introduced some bizarre policies. For example, you can no longer order an aperitif at the bar without having to pay for it there and then. Another irritation is on recent visits waiters consistently over filling wine glasses and then asking if we want another bottle.

I have been to the PTI quite a few times now and although the decor and ambience are okay the quality of the food is only average. The pickles that you get with poppadoms are very good but I have had Chicken Madras twice and both times it has been very watery and thin. On my last visit I had Chicken Sag Wala and this was pretty bland. The other people I was with all had different meals but you couldnt really tell becaues they were all the same consistency and taste. The rice is nice and they also do large bottles of cobra.

This is quite simply the best indian restaurant in liverpool. I have been here many, many times and can quite honestly say i have never had a bad meal. The pappadoms and pickles are execellent, chicken madras superb, special pilau rice nice and they also serve draft cobra which is a bit pricey at £2.90 a pint but worth it. It is a bit of a student hangout but dont hold that against it as it caters to everyone. The decor is a bit seventies style but i think this adds to its appeal. Go there and you wont be dissapointed.
