My favourite pub in London! The nicest staff, great selection of beers and friendly atmosphere!

Finally went there on Friday evening after many times walking past the restaurant. Good vibes in the place and food was as expected. Just didn't have the wow factor we'd hoped for but would certainly recommend.

We booked our work Christmas team night out here for 32 people and when we arrived, we were seated across 3 tables and there were only 20 seats! I spoke to the waitress who confirmed yes 32 people and I had to explain that there wasn't enough seats. They brought out an additional small table for 2 to put on the end of a table and gave us another table for 10 which was away from the group. It then took 45 minutes for drinks to arrive and we had to constantly chase. When the food arrived it was amazing, however the restaurant had clearly overbooked / didn't have enough staff working to cope with the demand of large groups and a fully booked restaurant a week before Christmas. The toilets were blocked and even though I brought this to someone's attention, it was not fixed and the disabled toilet was used as a coat closest so my boss who is disabled, could not use the facility. Furthermore we opted for the Christmas set menu and 2 hours into our booking had to start to leave as we had something we needed to leave to go to. The set menu was something we had to pre book so no food options were taken whilst there on the night. We were told that we couldn't get the bill yet as dessert was coming out so when the bill did arrive, we had to pay and go so not to be late for our event. The next morning I noticed we had been charged £70 extra for dessert that we did not order or actually want as it was not included in the set menu and it was not something I had pre ordered. Due to the mess up and delays we had we assumed it was a gesture of goodwill, however it wasn't. Overall the food was good and I would return along as I just needed a table for 2!

I had to come on here and leave a review for this spectacular restaurant based in Whetstone! I chose this restaurant because my partner is an avid seafood fan and until I visited Matthew’s kitchen I would’ve said that seafood would be my least favourite cuisine choice. From the moment I arrived into the restaurant I was greeted by the friendly staff and I really felt comfortable and at home. The waiter was very attentive and explained all of the specials on the menu board and made sure we had all the information we needed before looking at the menus. We ordered porn star martinis to start which were made to a mixologist in a five star hotel standard. For the starters I had salmon and tuna tartere, which is the best I’ve ever had. For the mains, I tried the seafood bouillabaisse something which I’ve never had before. Wow what can I say? It was at a spectacular level and I nearly licked the ball Clean everything was 10 out of 10 and I would definitely recommend seafood lovers as well as people within the local area to come to Matthew’s kitchen. I will definitely now be a regular customer and it was also very reasonably priced with a luxurious feel and atmosphere. Well done Matthew’s kitchen!

Again a lovely evening spent at Matthew’s with delicious food, attentive staff and the place beautifully decorated for Xmas with some banging tunes. What’s not to like, we look forward to returning soon to try the mussels!

We haven't been for a while, no idea why, but so glad we went on Friday evening. The experience was perfect, from the staff to the food. It won't be long until we're back again. Everything was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more attentive.

We had a delicious and interesting meal here recently. The dishes were well flavoured and interesting and quite special. It wasn't the cheapest meal but it was tasty and good quality. We would recommend it and go again

I recently dined at Matthews Kitchen, and it was unforgettable. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and beautifully presented. On Saturday, the fantastic fish display showcased the catch of the day up close. The lively, warm atmosphere, with a mix of younger and older guests, added to its charm. I highly recommend Matthews Kitchen—a true gem for quality, creativity, and ambiance!

We visited as a couple and had a very enjoyable evening. We couldn’t be in Barcelona but this was a great alternative! The Tapas menu was great and the servers introduced each course with a flourish which was fun. We love Sapenish and this food was really good. The live music (we were there on a Friday) really added to the atmosphere - although they were up on the balcony and we had to hunt out where they were. Great music, atmosphere, food and wine! We loved the draft beer (and white wine!!). Recommended - but do book. N
