Went for dinner with my sister and brother in-law. Really really enjoyed it food the atmosphere and the staff. Great place to eat with friendly staff.

I've been a Matthew's Kitchen Whetstone customer for quite a few years now, but only this evening did I first try the mussels - the tomato & oregano style. Brilliant! A big portion served in the classic metal pot. Mussels are surprisingly filling, this was plenty. I did order extra bread which was a good idea to mop up the sauce. The extra side of green beans was amazing too, perfectly cooked and had such a fresh flavour and al dente texture. The special scallops, served as so often with chorizo, and this time herb garlic butter , were as good as ever, too. Fish & shellfish soup goes without saying, I always have this. Great meal to cheer me up on a still gloomy March evening, thanks again Angela & Team Matthew.

I am a fish lover and this is my favourite restaurant. Plenty of options, all beautifully cooked and presented. This time I had the tuna which was beautifully rare and my partner enjoyed the haddock which is his favourite. The cocktails are great too and they have many specials. Thoroughly recommend and we'll be back soon!

A fantastic local fish restaurant with quality produce. Our meal was superb with generous servings, great service, value for money and a warm atmosphere. Will be returning!

Very good food and nice atmosphere at Matthews!

All round very pleased. Staff were really helpful when making changes to my booking. The food was good, in fact I’d say the food was great for an “out of town” restaurant. Fresh ingredients and solid cooking. I’ll definitely go back and also happily pass on positive reviews to anyone that asks.

As soon as we walked in we knew we were in good hands ,brilliant menu excellent service and the meal was fabulous. A definite return.

Two excellent specials today, the mackerel chorizo & pea arancini were especially brilliant and the sea bass risotto also very fine. I recommend trying arancini specials here as they are always well executed and sometimes, as on this occasion, top notch. The Gavi di Gavi costs a bit extra but is showing really well right now. I always have the fish & shellfish soup so this was simply as enjoyable as always, although a particularly tasty hint of the shells this evening. Costs can mount up in this restaurant, unstandable given the quality and the ingredients, and depending what exactly you have, but this meal was quite a pleasant surprise when the bill came. It was good to see the room pretty full for a Tuesday night in winter, with a quiet pleasant buzz.

Best Spanish tapas restaurant in the UK! Food amazing and incredibly tasty, staff all very friendly and efficient, lovely warm decoration and live Spanish music. We always come here when we visit London and it never disappoints. We spend 4 months of the year living in Southern Spain so it’s great to feel like we are back there without having to get on a flight.

Came with a group from on a Thursday and were given 10/10 service - honestly so appreciated how easy it was to reserve a space, how friendly and kind the service was and the vibes were immaculate! Thank you.
