What a delicious lunch. Great service from Serina and Daniel - helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Very much looking forward to visiting again.

After seeing a reel on Instagram my sister thought this was just the place to be treated for her birthday. OMG! We were not disappointed ! We enjoyed the bottomless sea food with bubbles and spices pineapple Margaritas. The only thing I can say is WOW! WOW! WOW! From the very fresh and beautifully dressed oysters to the Cajun spiced prawns - they just kept coming - to the flowing bubbles and endless margaritas, our tastebuds were doing a happy dance. Being a bit of a Margarita snob ( self proclaimed) I could not get enough of this version. I even tried to get the recipe, but to no avail. I will have to put on my mixologist apron and do a few chemistry experiments to recreate this awesome cocktail. Coleen who served us was very attentive and her infectious smile was always to the ready! You were brilliant, thank you. My sister was also surprised with a lovely sticky toffee pudding as a treat for her birthday. The gesture was really appreciated and thank you for the birthday balloons dressing her chair on arrival. The trek to Tooting all the way from the East coast of Kent to come and see what all the rage was about, was worth every penny. The cozy interior lent itself to having a fab chat with our neighbours who informed us they come every Friday for lunch. This is probably testimony to the excellent quality and tasty food. My sister and I were in our seafood element and we will definitely return for more. Looking forward to our next visit.

What a fantastic seafood restaurant in Whetstone! A true family business with beautiful décor, a great atmosphere, and excellent service. The food portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the fresh, high-quality seafood they serve. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves fresh seafood and delicious food.

Fabulous meal in a fabulous restaurant. Just what we needed for a special afternoon family meal. Biggest plus - the menu catered for both the vegans and the meat eaters in our group. And the food was delicious!!

Lovely pub, the waiting time for food was abit long for me over 45 mins. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed it and the portion size was big I couldn’t finish, I took some home. I had the Caribbean chicken roast. My partner had the Caribbean Sea bream roast he did not like his at all.

Had heard great things and was not disappointed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and the staff attentive. Can't wait to go back :)

The roast was okay, to be honest, it has changed flavour since I visited and ate when you first started serving food, many months ago at the beginning of the year. You're very generous with portions but I have to be honest the flavour has changed. I still appreciate how lovely eating at your restaurant is.

Venue was on my list following a food blog post. Visited the venue yesterday, found a same day booking online was excited; called through to make sure it was available. First impressions made me feel unwanted as a new customer, but I continued with the booking. Attended, was busy and no one asked me if I had a booking; found a member of staff (the manager). He said he would find me a table, 10 mins later was still waiting. Finally seated, a female member of staff questioned my seating at the table I was at. The manager confirmed he had confirmed my booking. She was quite unwelcoming. When ordering food, took a long while. There was a possible issue with one order of a Caribbean roast chicken, but they still had some so resolved. Asked for food to come althogther, however my son's chicken wings (from starter menu) came first after 1 hour of ordering. Then the mains of roast chicken and sea bream followed later. Noticed the sea bream had brown sauce/gravy after taken 1 forkful. Went to ask a member of staff, chef came out and I asked if the gravy was derived from meat e.g. chicken etc. He said yes, I was livid. The meal was a fish dinner, as a pescetarian I was horrified there was meat gravy in the fish. Something I felt they should have simply declared when ordering or written in menu. I was cooked a new fish after discussion about the matter and offered a refund. I wanted a while for the new fish. It was sent out but by this time the rice and side food was all cold. I was shocked they never considered to either take the rice to keep warm or send a new one. I had to ask. The chef came and apologised again. We were one of a few tables with issues. So he apologised to try table in front of us. They offered me a free dessert on the house. I picked the cake and custard. They offered the table in front the same but gave us different dessert options. I found this strange. We then waited a long while for the cake and custard. The table in front went to enquire and discussed with a staff member about them working in a known restaurant and them opening a new one. Both our tables become tired of waiting and the other table approached the staff first. A female kitchen staff member came out, brought a bag filled with dessert and apologised for the wait. She then looked at me to ask me what dessert I wanted. At this point I was fuming, our table had experienced the issues first and were offered a simple cake and custard first. How could we be asked again for our order after waiting over 30mins. I told them not to bother and explained my disappointment in the treatment. I could only rationale at that point they didn't remember ours because they were more concerned with making an impression on another business owner. The business owner did approach me when I was at my car and asked me to take a dessert, which was a kind gesture. Overall I'm not sure I will go back or recommend the restaurant.

What a wonderful dining experience! I booked a table at Mona’s and could not have been more delighted. From the very beginning, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that carried through the entire evening. We entrusted our order to the knowledgeable staff, who guided us toward a beautifully curated selection of dishes. Every plate was a perfect balance of flavor and freshness—truly delectable. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mona’s to anyone looking for exceptional cuisine. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

We came to visit our friends in Whitestone and went out for dinner at Matthews Kitchen on Saturday evening. The atmosphere was fantastic—relaxed and never rushed. The decoration was lovely, and now let’s talk about the food: the seafood portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and everything was so fresh. We shared a starter, enjoyed a very well-priced bottle of wine nicely chilled in an ice bucket, and had some sharpies, which were delicious. The service was fantastic throughout. We definitely recommend this restaurant, and I’ll be sure to come back whenever I visit my friends again!

Fantastic seafood restaurant in Whetstone A lovely family business with amazing food, cocktails perfect service, and a great atmosphere. Everything was just delicious from start to finish!

We went on a Friday night and had oysters, ceviche, fish soup, haddock, monkfish and a deliciously cold Macon. All very tasty, good portions, and great service. Really recommend this restaurant (and I'm very picky!)

Amazing fresh sea food unfortunately mussel madness wasn’t on. But didn’t mater prawns are the best in whetstone all the food was amazing and fresh and the service was amazing a great family run restaurant recommend to anyone .

We came for the bottomless brunch which was the prawns and margaritas, I forgot the ladies name it was a black lady with locks/dreadlocks she was lovely along with the other staff. Food was absolutely delicious drinks were being poured consistently service was great I don’t have any complaints and I’ll definitely be back again for the pineapple margaritas

The bottomless prawns and pineapple margaritas were phenomenal!!! Top ups of both the were frequent and the hostess was lovely. We ordered dessert which was a let down - Sticky toffee pudding. It was burnt on the top the sauce wasn’t very good either. But the bottomless food & drink was sensational.

Loved our corner table. Service 5 star. Food absolutely delicious.
