Fishworks – Marylebonevery over the top decor which just works...toilets are crazy but very cool...i love it and will return
Crazy Bear Restaurant and Lounge Bar – Fitzroviagreat noodles for tourists and workers on the go. very busy but enjoyable. loved the packaging.
Neds Noodle Bar – South LondonA great place for a special meal.
The Ivy – HolbornA meal of superior quality in a smart, yet unpretentious environment of rich dark wood fixtures and fittings, complimented by sympathetic lighting and a vibrant atmosphere. The live singing pianist was the icing on the cake, in a city where live music is bars and restaurants is sadly a rare treat. My starter of roast scallops, pumpkin ravioli, treacle cured bacon and mushy peas appeared to be unusual combination on paper but worked perfectly and was delicious. The scallops were cooked as good, if not better than any I've had in the best of London's restaurants. My dining partners starter of potted chicken livers, toasts and chutney was equally good but I was content that my choice was the better one. My main course of organic salmon, crushed new potatoes and crab caviar was of just as high a standard as the starter. We had side dishes of steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes, although the mashed potatoes were a little creamy for my taste but merely a matter of personal preference and weren't actually necessary unless you have a big appetite. I can't remember what my dining partner had but we both agreed that the overall standard of food was excellent and worth every penny. Just as importantly the service was also excellent and better than alot of the more expensive and so called prestigious eating establishments in London. Our waiter was friendly and efficient, and displayed the rare skill of anticipating our requirements. We had a drink in the bar afterwards before leaving, only to return for another drink when we couldn't find a better bar nearby. The bar staff and the door men continued the high standard of service we had received from the waiting staff and an impressive touch was when the door man returned a packet of cigarettes and a lighter that my dining partner had inadvertently left on a table outside. Altogether a very enjoyable experience and highly recommended.
The Living Room W1 – MayfairGood for a cheap lunch.
Stockpot, The – SohoA great place to eat. good fun too.
Fifteen – IslingtonThe Lobster Pot is a small restaurant tucked away in Kennington, which is designed like a ship's cabin inside. You really do feel like you are on a ship or close to the sea as you eat. The food is exceptional. This is definitely a place for food connoisseurs. I don't know how they do it but the food tastes so good, it is almost magical! I recommend the 8 course special. Lots of small, special courses to enjoy. It is closed one weekday (Monday?) so make sure you check and preferably book before you turn up. Service was outstanding (silver service level). Staff were very pleasant, and dressed the part. Great for an intimate/romantic meal. The restaurant owner is French and the cuisine is mostly French in style. Everything I ate was cooked/prepared to perfection. Excellent attention to detail.
Lobster Pot, The – South LondonLa Porchetta is probably my favourite Italian Pizzeria restaurant in London. It is a very popular place. It is sizeable so you are likely to find a place even if you haven't booked. It is very popular for Birthday meals and can get a little noisy. Great to go there with a bunch of friends. Lots of good things on the menu. The Pizzas are excellent. It has an abundance of ambience and character. Great value for money too.
La Porchetta – Camden TownPierre Victoire is one of my favourite restaurants in the capital. Well prepared food, good value for money, I've had some memorable meals here. The restaurant has a lot of character, and is very popular which makes it a little difficult to find seats from time to time. Best to book in advance. The menu is varied, and French in style, with enough choice to make most people happy.
Pierre Victoire – Sohosome of the best indian style finger food i have eaten in years. service was impeccable, and portions were good sized.
Imli – SohoHawlsmoor are serving arguably the best steaks in London at the moment - complemented with some fine cocktails. If you like your meat then this is the place to be.
Hawksmoor – East LondonWOW! I have never been disappointed in Patara! I just dont get why people have Chinese when Thai is SOO much better!
Patara – Chelsea and West BromptonThis restaurant has to be one of the best dining experiences in the whole of soho, and there's plenty to choose from. The quality of the food and attentiveness of the staff equals eating pleasure that? unrivalled.. Its open kitchen gives you a real flavour for the food before its served and the whole place is very intimate perfect for 2. This place is set over 2 floors and is a feast to the eyes and will leave you totally satisfied.
Mediteranean Cafe – SohoWOW! I had never tried goat before but there curried goat was spectacular!
Mango Room – Camden TownI've been eating at Food for Thought, Covent Garden for over twenty years, and I could happily eat there every day if I could! Though small and sometimes a bit cramped, the food is excellent - always fresh, always new menus. This is the only restaurant where I have always totally enjoyed whatever I've eaten. It is by far the most imaginative vegetarian restaurant I've been to. I'm so happy they've never changed their basic format, queue up down the narrow stairs, and get a table after you?e gotten your food - because it's still so reasonably priced, affordable, and nourishing. I could eat their stir fry veg and rice every day, though I am also tempted by the delicious quiches, not to mention the various specials of the day. I hope I will still be eating there when I'm old!
Food For Thought – HolbornA very good and noisy lunch time restaurant in the Sq mile Getting into the seat is for the dexterous, the food is always fresh and the presentation very good. The service is very quick even when full. Not a place for a romantic lunch/dinner as you need to shout to be heard
Tokyo City – CityThis is by far the best and most authentic Bangladeshi restaurant in the entire UK. It might be small, it might not have any frills but it is the best taste of Bangladesh you can have. It might not be right for those who want to have Bangladeshi food without the spices, flavours, and hot chillies. If you are looking for an English version of Bangladeshi food then go to any Indian or Bangladeshi restaurant. If you are keen to taste the Bangladeshi food like the "Machhe Bhate Bangali" eat then please go to GramBangla. I love GramBangla. It brings my childhood back to me; it reminds me of my family and Maa back in Bangladesh. It reminds me of the cuisines at villages in Bangladesh. You must go and have a taste at this place.
