The Owl – LoughtonWe enjoy going to the Owl and its a great setting and there's the park area for the kids. Disappointed in the Sunday roast as for the money it wasn't a full plate. No carrots, parsnips, peas just some green beans and cabbage, plus potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. The fish and chips looked good, a massive piece of fish. We would visit again but have some different from the menu.
The Owl – LoughtonHad a lovely lunch here on Sunday, a good variety to choose from, really lovely staff who looked after us very well and reasonably priced, we will definitely return!
The Owl – LoughtonI bring my elderly mum her for lunch regularly. It's easily accessible for her and in a lovely setting. Staff friendly and efficient. Food lovely and good value. And a varied menu too including small plate meals which are good for anyone without a massive appetite. Well worth a visit.
The Owl – LoughtonFood was great and staff were fantastic. Only criticism is I observed the chef using his hands to put food on plates. Not great when the kitchen is clearly on display from the bar.
The Owl – LoughtonThe goats cheese pizza was so bad it was like a lump of rubber and the onions wasn’t caramelised
The Owl – LoughtonThe Owl is now a regular haunt for us having discovered it last summer. This visit we went for Fish & Chips it’s always good and a match if not better than any other in the area including the local fish and chip shops. We were there over Easter and it was very busy , but we got our food in less than 15 mins and I was impressed to see 6 people behind the bar, this pub thinks about its customers and giving a good service across the board. The only problem we have is we don’t live closer, maybe we should buy one of the chalets in the park next to them!
The Owl – LoughtonThree of us went for a meal on Wednesday 8th April. We all ordered different meals and all of them were delicious. Service was good and staff very friendly.
The Owl – LoughtonWe moved up north but visit mum oftern in Enfield, took her for dinner here on Easter Sunday. The main reason we come here is because the food is homemade and fresh. We are sick of the frozen rubbish food in most places. We are so glad to have found this Gem of a pub. All our meals were fresh and all plates were cleared. The 3 meat roast was huge and amazing. Lovely staff there, all polite and helpful, which is lovely to see. Its evident that they like working at The Owl, feels like the staff are all a little family. Management should feel quite proud, to have such lovely staff. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos as we wanted to get stuck right in, but we had: Burger chips 3 meat roast Lamb roast Shepherds pie Chicken burger chips The hallumi starter is lovely.
The Owl – LoughtonVisited sunday for a roast and couldn't fault it. Staff was amazing, food was amazing aswell. Highly recommended.
The Owl – LoughtonStaff were mostly nice and food was decent. Unfortunately, we were sat in close proximity to two obnoxious guests who took issue when our dog barked-making rude comments and staring at my wife . They were also very loud, using foul language regularly and generally hating on people . This experience made us uncomfortable for the duration of our meal. For clarity, I didn’t complain to staff. But as one (a young man) had made a dismissive comment about our dog along with the 2 guests when we entered, i didn’t feel confident in doing so.
The Owl – LoughtonLovely food as usual -roast dinners had beef and lamb -all meals were plentiful and tasty with great service -would like to have had a dessert but couldn’t manage it -even had some great treats for our dog
The Owl – LoughtonI had fish & chips and it was super: cruncy and good flavor. The Sunday roast were also very attractive. Good service and clean site. Nice area also to sit outside
The Owl – LoughtonVisited here to eat on Saturday 21/01/2026. Booked in advance to be sure of a table for our party of four. Were given a great table in the window. Food was served very quickly and was excellent. The atmosphere and service was very good. I didn't feel that it was too expensive and was certainly happy that I received value for money. I have visited The Owl in the past and will definitely do so in the future!
The Owl – LoughtonThe owl is a local pub and we have eaten in there numerous times, we booked a table no problem, was quiet in there but was a tues tea time. They didn't have any pork belly, so I had the fish chips and mushy peas, the fish is always large and good, small amount of chips and a tiny pot of mushy peas, so you end up with masses of fish left and nothing to eat ut with. My husband has the lamb shepherd pie with veg, it had little meat in it no gravy so was dry, he said it was the worst meal he had in there which was a shame. Don't know if they are trying to cut costs but I would rather pay more and have a decent size meal, it's not cheap anyway as you would expect I suppose. I'm all for supporting local businesses especially at this time but was a little disappointed.
The Owl – LoughtonSunday 18.01.2026 We visited to celebrate my partner's birthday, and the whole experience was outstanding from start to finish. Our waitress, Iris, was superb; she immediately recognised my brother’s cognitive disability and instinctively adapted her approach, ensuring his order was customised exactly to his needs. That level of understanding and respect made a real difference to our evening. The food was excellent, with generous portions and very high quality across all dishes. What really set the night apart, though, was the thoughtful extra touch: the team surprised Gill with a small chocolate cake complete with a birthday candle. It was a simple gesture, but it meant a great deal and showed how much they go above and beyond for their guests. A genuinely memorable visit. We’ll definitely be returning
The Owl – LoughtonOur first visit to The Owl and we were very impressed. Two of our party are vegetarian and they were very happy with the options available. The food was delicious and of generous portions. The Staff are very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back. An added bonus is that this is a dog friendly pub and our pooch was made very welcome. Highly recommend.
