Lovely Place to go food great and atmosphere lovely great value for money would definitely recommend
County Hotel – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.

County Hotel – LythamYes have to agree with previous reviewer. Good, but not exceptional, in fact where I come from fairly average! Also pretty pricey, but I imagine they can get away with that given the celeb accolades. For comparison I suggest nip over to Yorkshire, not far over border is Grandma Pollards in Walsden Near Todmorden. Amazing experience(do try the bus) absolutely superb Fish/Chips/home-baked pies/cakes
Whelans – LythamA very competent restaurant. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and have always been very pleased with the quality of the food and service. Try the Drovers Platter or Cod and Fat Chips, you won't be disappointed.
Artisan @ Booths – LythamHaving lived in Manchester, i have experienced the city's china town, where Chinese food thrives in abundance. There are many 'all you can eat buffets' for around £7, and that means literally, all you can eat, it really is fantastic, particularly after a few beers, in fact it is just over indulgence, plain and simple! For £7, it is by no means haute-cuisine; you get what you pay for, factory style produced food for the masses, cheap cuts of meat are used and everything tastes more or less the same, nut thats to be expected for a pittence i feel! There are however also restaurants in china town where you can have a 'proper' meal, you pay more but some of the food is so fresh and delicious (Pan-Asia i always find is definitely worth going to if you're in Manchester.) Perhaps then, i have been spoilt, as returning to Lytham, my experience at Chu's was shocking enough to drive me to broadcast it to the world here; to get straight to the point, food was not hot enough, whats the point in having beautiful authentic dishes if your filling them with sub-standard, warm food; it felt like drinking cheap warm lager from an elegant champagne flute .The sauces were incredibly dull, i would place good money on the fact that the sweet and sour sauce was out of a carton; fine if youre running a take away, but a so called oriental 'cuisine' establishment, shame on you; youre laziness will come back on you no doubt. I have often read reviews written by people and thought, 'shut up and stop moaning', now i am one of them, what a hypocrite, however, i feel we the customers pay good money and should therefore get a good experience, of this i feel strongly. Finally, the pieces of chicken were SO SO SALTY...what were the chefs doing to that chicken?put it in your mouth, gooey bland sauce, hard (not crunchy) chewy batter, and oh, salt salt salt, i felt down right embarrassed and didnt bother commenting when the waiter (who was wearing a headset by the way and consequently looked like he would be more suited conducting a fitness video for people about to have heart attacks having had to much of Chu's chicken) un-enthusiastically asked if everything was ok, oh yeah its great thanks.....this salty after taste was going to set me back forty five quid for me and my partner, needless to say the food got left. Im sorry Chu's but sort your food out and stop mis-leading the customer about authenticity, it wasn't authentic, it was just pointless durge. Will it survive? Thanks to the pimms drinkers of Lytham who will go to a place because of how it looks as opposed to how it tastes, sadly, probably, yes. Still, at least the portion sizes were scarce.
Chus – LythamI have dined here on numerous occasions, and will be booking to eat here again for my sister's forthcoming birthday. For me, this is somewhere I like to take people for special occasions as it is a lovely restaurant with fantastic food. I have always come with a large group, and the staff were always polite and helpful; we were always made to feel very welcome. All in all, I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough!
Eighty Eight Chinese Restaurant – LythamEnjoyed our meal here. Had the new sausage and bean stew to start and a Romana pixzza to follow. Peroni is a great beer and the Barbera wine was tip top!
Pizza Express – LythamGreat as usual. always great service from the dashing Ahad and Sammy!
Red Fort – LythamI was in Lytham with some friends over the weekend.and was told about this place...It is a lovely restaurant , and at 7.30 on a sat night where able to get a table for 4..and it was busy. the food was lovely , and the service was ok. We asked for the bill and where about to pay, and noticed some overcharges on the bill for wine and food that we did not have..A sour taste was then left...we jumped a taxi back to our hotel , and he asked where we had been , and when we told him , he said 'I hope you checked your bill !!!' is this a case of Buyer beware...?
Portofino – LythamWe go to the restaurant twice a month ,but the standards are going down, and this slide should be halted. The food last Friday, when 6 of us dined, was frankly not up to the standard we come to expect. Six starters, six main courses and not one compliment says it all.
Portofino – Lythamabsolutely shocking food was frozen in the middle asked the staff and they said only one meal on menu was cooked entirely from fresh.
Ship and Royal – LythamWe have been to the Red Fort several times and each time has been great, you cannot fault the food, service or the decor, we will definitely keep going back
Red Fort – LythamThis Caffe Nero is superb. The staff are *so* friendly and eager to please, the coffee's good, and the ambience very pleasant. I recommend it!
Caffe Nero – LythamChu's is just what Lytham has needed. Authentic Chinese fayre instead of the normal 'Take Away' type. Lovely people too. Well done.
Chus – LythamI could even get a table on Valentine's Day.... I called and no one bothered to pick up, when they did they were very unhelpful and didn't sound at all bothered whether I was a customer or not. I ask for a table for 8pm, much sighing on their end? was told they only did a banquet (I didn't ask what the menu was?). I was then told to leave a number they may (MAY?) get back to me. Its a special occasion, its Valentine's Day as if I MAY leave booking a table to chance, no effort was made on their part. For a new business, a new restaurant it was pathetic first impression of what service i MAY of been given, I predict this restaurant will be closed within 6 months with crap service like that, shame....
Chus – LythamI couldn't even book a table for Valentines day! I called and waited quite along time until someone bothered to answer the phone. When someone did they were very unprofessional, I asked for a table for 8pm Valentines day, lots of sighing then I was told they only did a banquet on Valentines day (I didn't ask what was on the menu?), so what give me a table! Next I was told they might call me back as they couldn't be sure they had a table, what pathetic service! I said thanks but no thanks, as we all know its a special occasion and as a married man I won't leave whether I had a table to chance, I'll take my custom else where thank you For a new business, especially a new restaurant they should at the very least try some good customer service. I predict this place will be closed within 6 months, shame....
Chus – LythamSteaks, wine and service were all good. Not quite the usual buzzy atmosphere but not surprising considering the moist weather!
Portofino – LythamI went to Chus last Saturday. I enjoyed the food and the people were really friendly. The place is cool and funky but a little cold. The wine list could be improved. All in all its well worth a visit.
Chus – LythamLove the new supermarket with its restaurant upstairs. They even have a gallery in this flagship store. Great for breakfast and the outside balcony terrace catches the sun til late. give it a whirl!
