Pizza Express – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.
Great new menu and pizza selection. Consistent and good value with this new diners card.
Pizza Express – LythamI am not recommending this restaurant, in fact quite the opposite! I went with 11 friends for a birthday party last night and the service and the food was absolutely atrocious! I have been to Portofino several times before, the service has been poor in the past but last night was terrible. We had to wait over two hours for our main course, one of my friends was served mussels of which two were closed which is an absolute no-no, they made several mistakes with the orders so all in all a disaster.
Portofino – LythamAs a regular and happy customer I can never understand why people complain about the price of drinks etc when they are clearly stated in the very easy to read menu! I find the prices no different than other restaurants..and the lovely friendly staff are always happy to answer any questions regarding the menu etc! I take my family there regularly and will continue to do so.
Pizza Express – LythamCame across this restaurant by chance whilst on holiday in the area 24th May, '09. Enticed by the £9.95 offer for two course starter and main meal. Ended up spending much more but it was well worth it. Scrumptious desserts, can highly recommend the creme brulee with home-made Bailey's ice-cream. Simple but tasty meals on the special offer pasta and pizzas. Owner very friendly and welcoming. Will certainly dine here again if we are in the area.
Novello – LythamThe pub is now a Sizzling pub however avoid this place. There is a new landlord intent on destroying the business. Ordered food, food arrived before cutlery put on table, one meal was not as ordered (2nd time in one week). Instead of taking both meals back they only wanted to take the incorrect order so one person would be eating while the other watched, did finally take both meals back. 10mins later meals came back however one of the meals was the same food that was taken back so by now was cold and the other had just been thrown together and was also cold and inedible. They are meant to be sizzling meals but both skillets were only warm to touch so no sizzle whatsoever not even a tiny hiss. Staff couldn't even be bothered that two untouched meals were left on the table to be cleared away.
Blossoms Ember Inns, The – LythamVery impressed with Java. After many failed attempts at success by the former owner under a different name, this venue should be successful. The place looks good, bright and clean. The staff look sharp in their city style aprons. Everything on the menu was very reasonably priced and I really like the selection of dishes. Part cafe and restaurant with English and Italian influences. Its a bar as well with Warsteiner and Peroni on tap. They have also managed to bag Illy coffee which in my opinion is the best around. Good luck to them at Java.
Java – LythamPoor value for money accompanied by poor service for a large group 17 who have decided to choose else where for their annual meal. Dessert waitress didn't know the dessert menu. Luckily we checked the bill as that was wrong in their favour. Orders forgotten until reminded coupled with a complacent head waiter who probably doesn't realise he has to up the game of his team in terms of customer service. Plicating us with a couple of free dishes isn't the answer guys get it right to start with.
Portofino – LythamHave been to Java twice recently, once on a weeknight and once with a large group of people. It is very relaxed and a great place to sit and watch the world go by! The service was great and the food excellent, the food and drink is very reasonably priced too, which is a nice change in Lytham! Will definitely be revisiting on a regular basis!
Java – LythamA great cafe, the best grub in Lytham. Friendly staff, value for money and the best breakfast on the Fylde. Eat where the locals eat.
Chattery Cafe, The – LythamGordon ramsay got it spot on when he said the fish and chips were absolutely excellent and the price of £5.95 for fish and chips including tea and bread and butter was great value along with nice decor and friendly staff looking forward to my next visit
Whelans – LythamNice place to stop for a coffee. Great for dog-walkers as they happily allow your pets in the cafe.
Lowther Pavilion Cafe – LythamHad a great lunch here watching the world go by in the window seat!
The Lytham Kitchen – LythamSimply excellent, had the £18 banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it, excellent service. Not your normal restaurant, everything is quality. Can't wait to go again
Chus – LythamVery slow in taking orders (we thought we were invisible for 15 minutes after taking a seat) and then when I finished ahead of my wife and daughter, one of many waiting staff hanging around looking around for something to do (how about taking orders?) tried to take my plate before I had swallowed my last mouthful. There is too much competition in Lytham to have to put up with such sloppy service, which is a pity because the food is good and the menu imaginative.
Upstairsdownstairs – LythamI recently decided to try out the lytham kitchen again recently after hearing that they had been taken over by new owners, i was very surprised at the quality of the food i was served and how fast it was brought to me the lancashire hot pot was absolutely gorgeous and i will be recommending them to all my friends, everybody was really friendly and i was made to feel like i was special, not just another customer.
The Lytham Kitchen – LythamThis is the best restaurant in Lytham Quiet, well served with a tranquil interior this restaurant serves beautiful pasta and meat dishes. the house red is excellent Not particularly cheap but worth it
Novello – Lythamfantastic atmosphere, relaxed and friendly family run business. The food was to die for, and i would recommend it to any visitors coming to the Lytham St. annes
Fancy That – LythamI took my husband for a meal at the Blossoms, Lytham, on Sunday, and having used this Pub for many meals over many years, was very disappointed . On entering, there were many tables full of dirty dishes and when I went to the bar, that also was full of dirty glasses at one end, and they were still there when I ordered desert. My husband ordered a Flapjack desert which he could not finish and looked a soggy mess, I took a photo if you would like to see it. Many plates that were left on tables, also had quite a lot of food on them. I feel I need to write as this is the second time we have been disappointed at the quality of this pub. I do appreciate that it was sunday and a busy time, but we do not usually have to wait this long and see so many tables with dirty dishes, at other places locally, that we frequent. I would appreciate your comments.
