Like the smoked haddock and mash very much. However the bacon needs to be crispy and it wasnt.
Queens Hotel – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.

Queens Hotel – LythamAte here on recommendation from foodie friends and it's very good but we expected the best ever after the plaudits of top chefs too. Don't get me wrong the fish was beautifully fresh, batter nice and crispy if a little oily, good chips and unusual Tartare sauce; we just felt it hadn't quite lived up to the billing. The atmosphere and ambience like the service was OK but not especially welcoming. Still the prices are very reasonable and the wine measures very generous.
Whelans – Lytham2 first class whisky Sours on Saturday night!
Capri Grand Cafe and Champagne Bar – LythamWe had a very good experience in Ego on Saturday night. We arrived without booking and the place was packed. We were told to expect an hours wait, however the helpful manager found us a table within 20 mins. The rest of his team were very professional and helpful too. We opted for 2 platters for main and had a very nice bottle of house Rioja. There was live entertainment from an accoustic guitarist. All in all a good dining experience in an attractive looking restaurant with a buzz on a saturday night!
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamFood OK for the very reasonable price. Don't go expecting L'Enclume or The Hind Head and you will be happy. Beer choice first class and the place has a good vibe. I just wish the gents were not an hours hike away...
The Railway Hotel – LythamVisited Chu's last night. Fantastic food but the experience was really soured by the oppressive waiting staff. at least every 2 minutes someone was hovering round the table and we felt that we were being rushed into finishing our food. It was not exactly busy and had plenty of empty tables so it was not that they needed a fast turnaround time. When mentioned to the manager on paying the bill he just shrugged his shoulders and was not interested. There are too many places doing great food locally so the customer experience is very important and as such we won't return.
Chus – LythamMy husband and I have been to the Capri in Lytham four times now and each time it does not disappoint. The surroundings are elegant but homely and the service cannot be faulted. We had the chicken satay and I must say it was exceptional - succulent marinated chicken with a really tasty sauce. 10 out of 10 - Well done!
Capri Grand Cafe and Champagne Bar – LythamAte lunch here twice in recent weeks, once in the bar area and once in the restaurant. Both times the food was very good. It did take a while to arrive but once it did it was well worth the wait! I can happily recomend the open fillet steak sandwich and the club sandwich too! Will return soon!!
Clifton Arms Hotel – LythamWe have never had a bad meal here. Food and service always excellent and sometimes we have been offered a complementary dish to try which is very welcoming. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Red Fort – LythamFood is ok but very overpriced. The Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare that I had contained 2 scallops, 2 King Prawns and some pieces of squid and cost £13.95 which I felt was excessive.
Novello – LythamThe Taps always has a good selection of beers, ales, etc., a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are friendly.Last night when I visited it wasn’t too busy but it still had its usual atmosphere. I saw a new cider they were doing which I hadn’t come across called Cheddar Valley – I thought it was a cheesy drink at first until I saw Traditional Cider in smaller print below.A great taste of Somerset in a great Lancashire pub.
The Taps – LythamVisited Capri in Lytham for the first time on Friday evening and, oddly enough, it reminded me of the Mandarin Oriental in Prague. We went there for our honeymoon a few years back just after it had opened and loved the way it juxtaposed the old (a medieval monastery) with the new (a super-cool modern and minimal interior). On a very different scale, Capri is trying to do something similar with a modern city-style lounge bar hidden away inside the most traditional of Lytham buildings. If you’re familiar with The Living Room or Restaurant Bar
Capri Grand Cafe and Champagne Bar – LythamDon't bother ordering a takeaway for delivery unless you order hours in advance. Food arrives cold and at a cost. Other local Indian restaurants will deliver free, and quickly. Eating in the restaurant however is very good for both service and food.
Red Fort – LythamAwesome selection of beers, especially cask ale. Can't argue with the prices either. Food good for the price too. No wonder Wetherspoons is a market leading pubco
The Railway Hotel – LythamThis is a new Indian that’s opened in Lytham at what used to be the Thai place on Henry Street. My friend and I dropped in late Friday night after a few beers around town and had a very good meal there. If you like spicy dishes, try their Chicken Special. The owner is a friendly chap too and I’m sure this place will do well. Recommended.
Mohshinas Indian Restaurant – LythamFirst visit for breakfast yesterday - very poor service. Although seated and order taken efficiently waited over half an hour for food - then only toast brought to table which wasn't hot then breakfast came - nothing special, then finally got our teas. Expensive for quality and service. As we were waiting customers were leaving and complaining!
Capri Grand Cafe and Champagne Bar – LythamEnjoyed my lunch in Zest today in lovely surroundings. This really is a place where ladies lunch, we were the only 2 blokes in there I think.
Zest Food & Wine Bar – LythamPerfect vegaterian breakfast (large) enjoed at Java with friends on a beautiful staurday morning (8th Sept 12) sitting outside in the sun. Being a big Man utd fan it was even better when Ryan Giggs sat down to eat on the table next to me and my friends. Java is a great place to eat and the food was scrumptious.
