Only to recommend somewhere different! Waited 20 mins at a table - no service offered, not even 'someone will be with you shortly! '-wasn't even busy at lunch time.

Simple Bar and Kitchen – Northern Quarter

On a recent visit to San Carlo with my wife I have to say the food was quite appalling we had penna with prawns the prawns were the size of my finger nail and not many I did send them an email with not much success. Compared to other restaurants there customer service is very poor. I just think they don't care So marks out of ten a lucky 1 Not recommended

This was my third visit to El Rincon on Saturday night and once again it didn't fail to disappoint, there was a party of 7 of us with most of the party visiting El Rincon for the first time and they loved it, the food was fantastic followed by a good vibrant atmosphere, all the food came out within minutes of each other and it was amazing…I will be back again for more fantastic food!!

I have been eating in Tampopos for many years now and Ive always had a great express lunch. Its just that this time my experience was slightly tainted by the sloppiness and speed of the chefs. The staff were great and attentive and the floor manager couldnt do enough for me. The reason being that the Nazi Goring was unlike any Nazi Goring ive ever tasted before. Awful is my only explanation. There must of been 8 khaffir lime leaves in my dish which completely killed every other flavour in the dish and the chef has lazily quartered a whole tomato and placed that in there. Ive never seen that before. Its a shame, but I've such an affection of the place that hopefully this is just a one off. A mystery customer needs to go check this place out for the quality and authenticity of the food. There was an eastern European waitress working in there that could of slowed her pace down ever so slightly. Every time she was racing past, psychologically i felt rushed also. Although i couldn't fault anything else she did.

I was completely stunned and in awe with this place, from its subterranean location and entrance to its interior. This is one hell of a cool place. I popped in for a beer after work. I had a good chat with the bar staff who knew plenty about their product. I wandered around the place, checking out the huge open planned kitchen which looks right. The colour scheme of the interior is like nothing I've seen before, you need to go and check this place out, i know it'll be right up your street. Ive yet to try the food but the menu is full of everything that good in the culinary world at the moment. this place will blow you away.

Had a night there to celebrate my partners birthday in July (2011). We had a "booth" to ourselves. My partner adores sushi and has eaten in the best of Japanese restaurants; she rated this outstanding!! I hate the stuff and had rib-eye steak rolls; outstanding! Then they turned the lights out and played happy birthday whilst presenting her with a cake and candle. This was great, and she was suitably embarrassed. Must say though, the Japanese version of Happy Birthday lasted nearly 3 minutes!!! Nevertheless, three courses, beer, coffee, etc, all came to £59. VALUE. Please go there. It doesn't look much from the outside, but inside its great. Excellent service, and all this on a Saturday evening. Will definitely go there again- and again. By the way, stayed at the Mint hotel, 3 minutes walk away. Outstanding!!

Having eaten at Ciao Bella on numerous occasions over the past 5 years with my husband and also friends, I decided to take our son for lunch on his 20th birthday before 'hitting' the shops. He said it was the best Italian meal he's ever had and now understands why we don't go anywhere else to dine when we're in Manchester. The food is absolutely fantastic and the owners and staff are so warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We can't recommend Ciao Bella highly enough for a wonderful gastronomic experience. We will certainly be returning time and time again in the future!

Check your bill! They hadn't removed our £90 deposit and also added a bottle of wine to the bill. Some slow service but it was really busy!

I went to the City Cafe restaurant with my boyfriend and best friend and have to say that the food was rubbish. We were surprised to find that the portions were tiny and the food itself was very average, especially considering the price. We all agreed that we felt like we hadn't eaten properly despite having a two course meal. None of us would go back I'm afraid. Poor show.

Sat 16.07.11.Arrived 5 mins before our table booked for. We were left stood at the front door for 5 mins (even though 2 members of staff looked at us twice each), eventually we had to walk into the restaurant to get acknowledged. We were seated at a wobbly table and left for another 15 mins before we were even asked did we want a drink. Food was very nice but the service was awful. The manager blamed it on staff ringing in sick but reading other reviews they must suffer with a lot of sickness!!!!! Not somewhere we will be rushing back to.

I visited this hole on the 9 July 2011 for a Hen party, in which there was 19 in our party. This was the first time in approximately 20 years since I had last gone to this restaurant and it will definitely be the last. Firstly I am not sure how they passed the Health & Safety inspection as the tiling on the floors was so badly damaged it was precarious to walk on. Secondly, we paid £25pp for the banquet which was not only a rip off as we did not get all the dishes as advertised and the quality of the food left little to be desired. An example was a plate smaller than a usual sized dinner plate with a heaped mess passed as a Mousaka which someone had likened to dog food and which was cold. Despite complaining we never even received an apology other than that they would bring more food out which we never received (not that we could have stomached anymore of this sub-standard muck). I have been to Greece on many occasions and many other restaurants of various nationalities but have never experienced this disgrace. Shame on you Bousouki! This was definitely not value or quality for the £25.00pp. It was a complete rip off and you should be brought to task for day light robbery!

Dreadful experience. Treated very badly from start to finish. Food nice but everything else terrible.

I have been to the restaurant for more than 3 years now. The quality of the food has probably stayed the same but a few other factors contributing to the nature of service have changed for the worse. Take today for example. Their credit card machine was not working and I didn't have any cash. So they suggested that I fetch cash leaving my son behind as a collateral security. Not a restaurant that I would like to go back to.

I had one heck of a great meal at this fantastic restaurant the other week. The sushi/sashimi platter was excellent, and the Beef Teriyaki was supreme. I shall definitely be visiting again, and hope to do so regularly.

I went to San Carlo on Thursday for a late lunch with a friend. I have been very satisfied by the quality of the food. I had lobster which was fresh and prepared to perfection. First, I was a bit unconfident to order seafood because of a bad experience in another well known restaurant few months ago but I saw the waiter bring a lobster to the table next to us and it seemed really nice. Indeed, it was delicious! Finally, I have found a restaurant that can offer good value for money and a good service.

Giorgios is simply super! I went for a meal out with my nan and we we're so impressed! The waiter 'Guiseppe' was so on the ball and his wit was magical. Such a lovely man, nice manners, tall and true Italian 'dark'. His eyes were full of the passion of the med and his skin a lovely sun ripened olive. I loved his deep gravelly accent. it made the food taste good. mike

Red Hot World Buffet has only been open a month or so in Manchester but is already attracting queues of customers from lunchtime right through to the evening. With branches in Leeds, Liverpool and Nottingham among others it is not too difficult to see what all the fuss is about. Allegedly the Manchester branch has over 300 dishes on its buffet menu in a self serve restaurant which can seat up to 350 people. Our lunchtime visit, after a short wait was rewarded with a good percentage of those 300 dishes to choose from and the hope that we would have the appetite to match! The buffet is divided into oriental, tex mex, Indian, Italian and British - disappointingly we couldn't find the advertised Mediterranean or Thai sections. However with my plate full to the edges with deep fried scallops, calamari, vegetable spring rolls, spare ribs and noodles the disappointment was short lived. The next hour or so became a blur of revisits to the buffet - char grilled corn on the cob, lemon chicken, lamb rogan josh, bombay potatoes, daal. For less than £30 for two including a bottle of crisp Chilean Sauvignon Blanc Red Hot's lunchtime menu cannot be recommended highly enough. It's more expensive in the evening and no doubt the queues are even longer.
