This an elegant restaurant offering really nice food and excellent wines within a gondoliers call of the main San Carlo. The portions are just enough, beautifully cooked and the service, when we called in was warming and welcoming. One added to our list for lunch and evening visits.

we booked a party for 25 people in the function room which we got a great deal on. We had a choice of 9 buffet dishes at only £12 per head in the private function room. Service was great too. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a party in Manchester city centre

The staff barely understood English, the food was not bad but quite expensive for what it was. The decorations are great, but I am going to eat out for the food, not for some fancy, pseudo thailandese decorations.

The food is good, no doubt, but the whole flatrate-concept is not very flexible enough for me: You cannot bring a friend who is not hungry, you cannot really bring along women who don't want to eat half a pig - everyone has to pay 30 pounds. The management will get really angry if you don't. Besides, the music is too loud for my taste for a restaurant. I'll definitely won't go there again. I'd rather pay less and have better food at places in Didsbury like the Lime Tree, Jem and I or Piccolino or a great view in the city centre at a posh place like the Modern Times. You have to be really hungry to love Bem Brazil and I am usually not starving when I go out for a good dinner.

We went to Tokyo seasons for the 5h time just before Xmas and was yet again blown away by the quality of all the food on offer. The staff are excellent, and the blend of fresh sushi with excellent hot dishes, means that it is a good place o take those people sceptical of Japanese food. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

As a Japanese, I *highly* recommend Yuzu-san. I went there yesterday, and it was really authentic. So far, I have tried many Japanese restaurants in the UK, almost all of which were not very authentic. Yuzu-san is the best. The price is simply the same as the other "Japanese" restaurants in Manchester (i.e., cost-benefit is awesome).

Went here around 7 o'clock this New Year's Eve before going out drinking. The food was great, very authentic Thai cuisine - the starters (duck spring rolls and vegetable and chicken tempura) were delicious. The main (we both had noodle-based dishes) were great too but I find Asian starters are always better. The bill was average (about 60 pounds incl. drink) and the service was quick, sometimes lacking in attention but there wasn't enough staff to cater for everyone in the restaurant as it was NYE. Overall, a lovely meal, would definitely go again.

Swadesh really does set the standard for others to follow. Brilliant food that tastes home cooked and where all ingredients appear fresh. Great value two course early evening deal. Dhal and biryani are best I've had for years!

A great place to eat, especially for vegan/vegetarians! I have a youngster too, who found the quirky decor stimulating, could choose nutritious food as well as a treat or two off the extensive menu! The shop also is great for children, and the child in the adult!

The food is acceptable. however, it's VERY expensive. I found no motivation to go there the second time since there are many better Thai restaurants in town. Chaophraya Thai restaurant is much better. The food and service there are great and it's also ranked the 5th best restaurant in the Manchester. Also, Phetpailin and Try Thai in China Town are also a lot better with affordable prices. Furthermore, the manager of Koh Samui is very rude and mannerless (the dark and bald guy) , i went to tell him that it was very cold at my table. He ignored me and pretended that he didn't hear me.

Long time since I've been to the Wellington - my how it's changed. The list of 'guest beers' is as long as your arm, the wine list looks to be a big improvement and the rooms are just as snug as before. Shame about the food though. The sausage and mash was okay apart from the just warm trio of bangers (hint: a bit longer in the microwave next time) and the open chicken and portobello mushroom pie could have done with more sauce in the pie and hot rather than luke warm and fresh rather than dry looking accompanying vegetables. As I said it's a long time since I was last in there - it'll be even longer before I venture back.

Extremely Good! I took my staff for Christmas dinner and it was excellent. It was Friday evening and packed to the rafters but despite this we were served promptly, professionally and cheerfully. Ok it was a straightforward Christmas Menu that we had chosen but the food was faultless. Well done guys, we'll be back!!

A group of 8 of us went to Giorgio's after the Theatre this weekend. An absolutely lovely restaurant offering everything you could want from an Italian. We were shown to our table straight away upon arrival and our drinks and food orders were taken quickly. The service was prompt with just enough time between courses to feel like they weren't rushing you but hadn't forgotten you. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and anything extra we asked for, such as sauces, we received quickly and without fuss. There are a couple of different set menus which are extremely good value. I had 3 courses from the Pre-Theatre menu (available until 7pm) for £15 and definitely got my money's worth with mozzarella and tomato salad, a pizza absolutely loaded with topping and chocolate fudge cake with ice cream to finish. I will definitely be eating at Giorgio's again and would recommend it to anyone. There is plenty of choice for people of all ages and there is something to suit all tastes.

Great night spoiled by being rushed from our table. We had spent over £500 as a group, but as soon as they had our money we were asked to leave 'as there were eight ladies waiting at the bar'. Our party hadn't finished their drinks but we were hassled until we left. I believe this is unforgivable in a service industry and won't go back.

I've been living in Manchester for 10 years, and none of the so-called "Japanese" restaurants have impressed me. They are flashy, but not truly Japanese, and not even close to those you find in London. Yuzu is the real thing, a proper Japanese restaurant where Japanese people like myself appreciates the effort! The tempura is great, not greasy at all but light and crispy - as it should be, but so many restaurants get it wrong. Same can be said for the tonkatsu, which was thick and crispy yet done to perfection and still juicy. Highly recommended, and hats off to the chef!!

I have been eating at this restaurant for over a decade. It is always brilliant. The food and the service is consistently excellent. No other restaurant can compare on price or quality. The Sunday lunch 3 course for under £5 is just as well cooked and served :)
