I came in August with a friend it was my 50th birthday and we had a couple of cocktails . It was raining outside but lovely and warm inside the staff were very good and we received a warm welcome. I am going again with my sister at end of this month as she hasn't been well and think this treat would cheer her up .

It's a fun night, though more about quantity than subtlety. A buffet of 'sides' and spuds is accompanied by a slice after slice of MEAT. Beef, chicken, pork lamb, they ALL arrive on your plate in steady small quantities delivered by a man with a big skewer. No tasty sauces, this is a BBQ and ketchup place but amusing for all that.

It's alright.

Had the worst meal of my dining history last night at this restaurant. I had cannelloni and it was extremely poor quality, the meat was pale grey and fluid like and the pasta underdone. The portion size was too small if it had been edible and today I have terrible tummy ache. I'm not one for writing reviews but the food was so disgusting I don't want anyone to ruin a nice night out by eating there so have gone out of my way to write a review. Utterly dreadful!

I visited Sapporo Teppanyaki last month. I took family of various ages, who were visiting from Australia. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and hospitality..We were so happy with the ambience that we visited three times during their short stay. The children were mesmerised by the expertise of the chefs and their knife skills. My favourite eating place ever.

Yuzu food was lovely. Service was really friendly and they gave us a free taster of a Japanese chicken stew which was delicious, then told us all the vegetables that were in it. It was so nice, shame that it was so quiet on a Saturday night. GO!! It's really great.

Went here at the weekend - as others have said this was easily the best Japanese food in Manchester. So why was it nearly empty when other IMO inferior Japanese places are packed out?

Visited this last night and was pretty disappointed. Having eaten in the restaurant a few weeks before, we expected good things of the cafe bar too. My main course - mackerel with beetroot dauphinoise was tasty but tiny. It came with one small fish fillet, a few sprigs of watercress and the dauphinoise was slightly bigger than a large walnut. I'm not a big eater, but it only It took me five minutes to finish this and I was still hungry after. The dish cost around £11, which is by no means expensive, however mackerel is probably one of the cheapest fish on the market. and any self-respecting restaurant would serve two fillets as a main. I spoke with both waiting staff about the portion size. One just said 'oh right' and the other winked at me and said 'I know' !! Won't be going again, which is a shame because I do like the taste of the food.

Went for a birthday meal with 4 friends and initial thoughts were that the restaurant was elegant and well decorated. Some of the staff were friendly but the main courses clearly let the place down. 1 dish arrived a bit cold and the dishes were very bland and lacked flavour. Found some of the dishes were overpriced and then they added £10 service charge which was an insult. The likes of zouk, eastz east don't do this and they still remain no.1 in city centre Indian restaurants. Will not be visiting zaika again a real let down considering the high expectations it has earned itself.

My husband and I ate here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon, it was fabulous, make sure your hungry as there's lots to eat. Don't be put off if the bar downstairs is quiet as there's plenty of atmosphere upstairs.

Our Daughter left for Birmingham University last week and so we joined her in her new city of residence for a farewell meal. The San Carlo in Manchester was a favourite of hers and since it was a special occasion we agreed to give the Birmingham restaurant a try. Having not visited the city in over 10 years, google maps was needed to ensure we didn’t get lost. The city has changed a lot since when I was here last and San Carlo was a 5 minute walk from the central station. Once inside, the restaurant was much different in design, but was no less luxurious. Amy ate Spaghetti Bolognaise as usual. The food was just as tasty as Manchester, hopefully the rest of the city will treat her well in her 3 years there.

A big party of us ate here last month for a birthday and we had a good time. The live band downstairs was a touch OTT as we couldn't really hear each other speak and you do get a ridiculous amount of food.. so make sure you're hungry before you go.
