We've eaten here twice and on both occasions we had a lovely meal. The service was particularly good when we beat the crowds and got in on a Friday before 6.00. The staff are very friendly which makes it more memorable. Definitely recommended plus you've got the advantage of the good nightlife that's around the Northern Qtr.

We called into Taurus lately by way of a change from Velvet or Via. I must say I found the whole experience an absolute pleasure. The food was fab along with the friendly service and great wine. Try their pate... its lovely.

I have tried this restaurant several times for a 'special lunch'. On every occasion it has been excellent, with a really varied and exciting menu. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very professional. Superb value for money.

My husband took me here for my birthday... i've heard about Gaucho many times, but with so many restaurants to pick from when you live in Manchester, the prices on the online menus for Gaucho always caused me too chose others before it. Big mistake! As soon as we walked in, i was impressed. The place is visually gorgeous, and the front of house staff were very polite and, for a change in Manchester nowadays, smiling! Our waitress was undoubtedly the friendliest, most knowledgable waitress i have ever encountered. There's nothing this woman did not know, nor was there anything that was too much trouble! She really made us feel important. I noticed that all the waitresses for other parts of the floor, were the same. As for the food, the table bread and oil 'dip were out of this world.. so much so that i got the ingredients for the dip from the waitress, and will try to recreate at home... i could've gladly just eaten that for the night! The starter of Argentinian Sausage and mashed potato were lovely (although miniscule for the hefty price tag... but who cares!) The fillet stake was melt in your mouth, and for such a quality piece of meat, was excellent value for money. I had the 225g (smallest) cut, and was left uncharacteristically unable to have a desert, due to being full! The 'fat' chips were gorgeous too... not really chips, more like big roast potatoes! Cocktail menu was extensive and very fancy... the one i picked in the end was more like a desert in a glass, but having a sweet tooth, that suited me fine, and i really enjoyed it. The meal for 2 came to just under £60.. not bad for 1 starter, 2 fillet steak mains (one larger than the other), 2 or 3 argentinian largers, and a hefty cocktail. Also, refreshingly nowadays, gratuity wasn't automatically added onto the bill (how do places get away with this anyway!) and we were glad to hear that any tip given for the excellent service, goes straight to those who have provided it! Overall, the food was really nice, but the service we received made it 100 times better. i will be returning in a flash!

We were wandering round China town and chose this restaurant by chance. We had a wonderful meal at lunchtime, three courses for £6.50. The chicken in red wine and brandy sauce was superb. The staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely go again.

This place is awesome - I now go there every day. In fact, why am I telling you this ? I want to be able to get a seat inside. It's awful, don't go there under any circumstances !!!

Having visited Akbars twice, the second time to confirm my first thoughts, I decided I would definitely be not going again. Although the food was OK, the level of noise,(very loud and echoey and called to your table by a tannoy system ) the extremely long wait for a table(you can not book) and the overall ambiance of a cattle market was a little off putting to say the least!!!! I find it hard to believe that anyone would wish to eat in these ungainly circumstances. I like to be able to hear what my friends are saying when eating out and don't want a waiter wiping the table with a dishcloth until I have left the premises! Oh well, call me old fashioned!

(3/10) I chose San Carlo because I wanted a quiet meal out in an upmarket classy restaurant. San Carlo certainly seemed to fit this bill and we all found the food to be really fantastic. Unfortunately though, the evening was spoilt when the staff found out it was my birthday and 3 or 4 waiters lined up to sing happy birthday to me whilst I was enjoying my quiet meal out. To be fair, If I had wanted this kind of cheesy circus act, I would have gone to TGI Fridays where this would have been expected. Call me miserable but to be honest, for people that want a quiet meal out and don't like the lime light this gesture is truly unwelcome. Mr Milne 05/09/07

My first visit to Piccolino’s and would definitely return . I normally try the restaurants that get recommended and they never deliver, this was a nice change. Book a table and see for your self don’t think you will be disappointed.

The selection of food offered is always a good mix with a wide choice encompassing starters, mains and surprisingly wide and interesting selection of desserts. I've been there many times over the last two years and have never left disappointed. I'd happily recommend this place and have as a good quality establishment that take care and pride in cooking and presenting their food when compared to other similar places that are close by.

It was outrageously good. It is the best restaurant in the whole of china town and I have literally tried everyone. The service was brilliant my personal favourite is Kenny. He is a friendly and jolly man who is always up for a laugh. The food presentation is neat and very appetizing and I recommend the lemon chicken with egg fried rice. It is bummage.

It has completely changed to a hundred percent buffet. There is a large variety of excellent food. David is a loyal waiter and a very hard working man. I admire him greatly and he is a great friend of mine. Superb.

Visited this restaurant for my wife's birthday. Food was excellent, service was A1 ... if you want a fabulous meal in good surroundings, then go to this restaurant.

The food was brilliant - especially the breads and the fish. The place is truly children friendly and the staff worked hard to make the meal really memorable. They are so secure that you can view the whole kitchen.

I was very pleasantly surprised by revolutions food, I expected the usual out-of-a-freezer pub grub, but found fresh locally sourced decent food. Good menu range - excellent assortment of burgers, wraps, nacho's, sandwiches and sides. The prices are about £8 for a main give or take and the portions are HUGE you really get your moneys worth. Also note at certain times with a Revolution card you get 2-1 meals. Excellent food, big portions, reasonable prices and excellent surroundings. Highly recommended.

An absolute delight. Great food, great service, and overall a wonderful place to eat out. Ive tried some of the other 'authentic' Thai places in the city and as someone who has lived in Thailand, there's a vast difference in both quality and authenticity when it comes to Chaophraya and the other restaurants in Manchester. Highly recommended.
