We cannot fault the food which was absolutely fantastic. However, the service was brusque and after being left standing awkwardly at the bar (in a draft from the door) for about ten minutes on arrival, for the rest of the night we felt rushed. For example, one staff member had literally just left the dessert menu on our table seconds ago when another came to ask what we’d like to order - which cemented our decision to leave at that point and not to have any dessert. Whilst the staff were generally friendly and smiley, and I understand it was a busy Saturday night, this haste did not make for a very pleasant evening. I also agree with other reviewers that the drinks are extremely overpriced. I’d return for the quality of the food, but would make sure it was a quiet weekday and to avoid alcohol.

You know what to expect on visits to Gio. Warm welcome, great menu options, good quality food , service to suit your time constraints and therefore you are prepared to live with the drink prices .

Fantastic pre theatre meal with lovely service to match would have liked the drinks to be itemised on the bill rather than just a food total then a drink total.

I agree with a number of the previous reviews. The food was generally very good (although in my case the steak was a bit ‘sinewy’ and therefore chewy). Service was also very good. As previous reviewers have noted, it is quite expensive and true cost is hidden with the (apparently low) set menu cost which then has a number of add-ins (and drinks are quite expensive).

I absolutely love visiting this restaurant on trips to the theatre. The staff are amazing and I always feel so welcomed. And the food - well it's gorgeous. I look forward to visiting the restaurant as much as seeing the show!!

Yummy food~ great cocktails and welcoming staff throughout. The ambience was warm and intimate for catch ups. Plentiful of vegan options and a variety of deals also will definitely return in the near future.

Had a nice meal and a few drinks. My only complaint is that the boerewors didn't taste like boerewors, it was still nice but not boerewors. The Chakalaka and pap was fabulous though! I will definitely be returning, thank you!

Excellent food and brilliant cocktails. Original flavours and a great menu, varied and lots of choice without scrimping on quality.

The food was okay, but it was incredibly expensive. The drinks are hugely overpriced and the food whilst not bad is still priced highly. Won’t be going back

Nice food, good atmosphere and helpful staff ordered a taxi for us and food was brought to us in plenty of time as we needed to be at a gig

Birthday Treat, it had been a long time since I last visited Giorgios (almost 20 years) and I was not disappointed. Staff are delightful and the food was excellent and great value for money. I must definitely will be booking again - and not been leaving it so long!!

Having visited before, I knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint. Head and shoulders above any other restaurant in Manchester. Highly recommend it. Food delicious, atmosphere great, staff lovely.

Fastastic food and service. Best steak and pepper sauce I have ever eaten. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Wine a bit expensive but overall a fantastic restaurant. We will definitely visit the restaurant again.

Pre-theatre 2 course dinner for £22.50 is somewhat misleading. The steak choice attracts £2.50 supplement and then you need to pay a further £4.50 for fries AND £5.95 for literally 3 slices of carrot and sprigs of broccoli so it is actual £35 for the meal. The 2 course refers only for a starter-we preferred a desert which attracts another £3 supplement! Wine at £12 a glass results in £47 per head. The food is fine but was not good value.
