Have eaten several times at Gio's and have never been disappointed - good lively Italian atmosphere, always busy, and the staff are friendly, courteous and very efficient. Pre-booked our table on-line a week before to avoid disappointment and no problems. Pre-theatre meal - Food great (minestrone soup particularly liked by Dad- best he has had for years!) and service to match - we will be back again - thank you.

Been to GIO'S many times and even at peak times service is always excellent and food fresh and tasty. Last night we opted for the pre-concert menu. The salmon was superb, likewise the accompanying sauce. An excellent meal. Staff are always accommodating and efficient.

We accidentally booked 2 tables online - a miscommunication - and tried to cancel one. No luck, no one was answering the phone. When we arrived we apologised for the mistake and were tutted at, then told off by the boss man because he said he'd had to turn people away. We pointed out that we had tried to ring but he was very rude, said there was no one there in the afternoon. Consistently horrible to us. We only stayed because we needed a pre-theatre meal and there wasn't time to go anywhere else. The rest of the staff were delightful and the food was good, but this one nasty individual spoiled the visit for us.

Booked online a table for two in February, for a 6.30pm meal on Friday 15th March. Expected to be able to go for a nice quiet evening meal. Arrived about 6.10pm. Horrified when got in, as place was absolutely packed, others waiting, servers rushed off their feet, and no tables available. Had a printout of my booking to show them. Assured by owner (?) that we would get our table. But had to stand and wait - husband had to sit up a corner - and waited until the last second of 6.30pm to get to a table. Very noisy and frenetic atmosphere and did not feel welcome. Food very good (able to choose from set menu till 6.45pm), and was generous and nicely cooked though. If we ever go again, we wont choose a Friday night, or we will make sure we dont go until after 6.45pm!

I have eaten here many times and, again, was not disappointed. The food and drink was very good and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

Nice restaurant but would have liked the 3 course all day menu to have been offered rather than the 2 course set menu. Choice wasn't as good on that one as the 3 course. Staff were great despite the restaurant being extremely busy due to pre theatre diners.

Great pre-theatre meal and birthday celebration. The food was very good value for money and the service we received excellent. This is our favourite pre.theatre venue and we hope to return soon. Highly recommend.

Both food and service was excellent when four of us called for pre theater dinner. Staff were very helpful and a attentive. Recommend Georgios to everyone. Very near the Palace Theatre if you have booked a show there.

This is the 2nd time we have eaten here, enjoyed it both times. You are warmly welcomed by the staff as soon as you walk through the front door. The food was hot and presented well. We would return the next time we came for the theatre as we stay at the premier inn across the road.

Fabulous meal as usual. Best Italian in Mcr for me! Very busy on the night we went as events on at the theatre and The Bridgewater but the personal service was still there!

Three of us has the pre theatre meal but only one of us enjoyed their food . The garlic pizza was dry and over cooked and the mushroom starter was lukewarm . I mentioned this to the waitress but she smiled and said she would tell her supervisor .The staff are very friendly but clearly when the restaurant is busy prior to a theatre show the food is fished out with little thought of quality .

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal from the pre-theatre show set menu. My daughter had seen something from the other set menu she'd set her heart on and the waiter very kindly said she could have that as her main instead. Staff were lovely and the meal was very tasty.

Enjoyed our meal there on Sunday, the food was good ,prices fair, the service was very good , the building is beautiful, the only thing that you could add for me is disabled access , I did manage all the steps, and step into restaurant, but some people can not. Do not know if there is disabled toilets on other floors . We did love it and have recommended to friends.
