Tung Fong Restaurant – WorsleyGreat quality food and a really clever take on pub food.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyCame here on Sunday with our friends, service was great and food came so quickly. We had the platter and it was amazing, this is our second visit and we will definitely be back. England were playing and I called a few days before to ask for a table closer to the tv which they were able to accommodate so that made it even better! Thank you
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyJust simply brilliant food - great service Would highly recommend!!
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyAbsolutely delicious. We had the sharing platters and they were amazing. Fresh, plenty of food and all lovely.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyFirst visit and enjoyed the service and food - friendly and great choice on the menu - wine very nice - beer no choice really on our visit just their own named beer which not my taste. Overall though good food and pleasant evening.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyVery good
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyOur 4th visit to Ale and Aloo and this time we tried the sharing platter. Absolutely delicious and well worth the price of £22.50 each. Butter and madras sauces were so tasty. Chicken tenders moist and crunchy. Curly fries and keema chips were so nice with madras seasoning on them. Burgers delicious and even better with a dip in the sauce. Lamb tacos were just perfect. Staff polite and friendly as always, great attitude and customer service. Food was great, tasty, spicy and delicious, exactly what we were looking for. Appreciation to the chef, never disappointed. Will definitely visit again as still menu items not tried yet. Thank you for a lovely experience.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyThis was the very first visit to the Gatehouse for many years. Every time I drove past I kept thinking we must have a meal there sometime. Well I have to say we were not disappointed. When we arrived we were told the kitchen was very busy and it would be about an hour's which was a bit disappointing when we had booked a table for a set time but to be fair our meals were served within half an hour of us ordering them. The food was excellent and well worth the wait. I would recommend a visit to The Gatehouse for the food if nothing else. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyThere's nothing much to say we all enjoyed the food all fresh and very good we wos all pleased thanks 2 all the staff .
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyFantastic Indian food with their own twist, everything was hot and delicious. The service was amazing too. Will definitely be back to have ago at the sharing board as it looked spectacular.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyWent here for birthday meal for my husband 23rd April table booked for 6.30 ordered food at 6.50 at bar six people eating. Food took one hour twenty minutes to arrive with no explanation for the wait other than two tables to serve before us . One guest went home fed up of wait and the fact it was freezing cold in there as well . Three people ordered the platter several items were burnt the chicken, onion bargee not worth the price at all and the wait won’t be going again
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyFirst visit to the venue since new ownership and will definitely return in the future. The food was delicious and freshly made to order. A very good variety of dishes, including vegetarian. Food was all hot and very tasty, Lovely attentive staff and very good service. A very enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – Worsley2nd visit, this time as 4 adults for the bottomless brunch. I specifically asked when booking if there could be a vegetarian curry option for the brunch. I recieved a reply really quickly asking what I would like & was assured it could be made available as part of the brunch. When arriving it was confirmed the chef would be making the requested curry (Paneer Sagwala- really good) & that another vegetarian curry was going to be made just for me so I had more options-a lovely surprise! The surprise second curry was a Chickpea Dhall & it was hard to choose which was my favourite. All the food was excellent, extremely tasty & obviously home made with fresh quality ingredients. The non vegetarians were all very full & happy & the personal touch was really appreciated & will definitely be visiting again.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyA dissapointing 1st visit to this venue under its current ownership. Ordered a mixture of Indian and pub classic meals (4 in total) and to be fair the starters poppadoms and chutneys together with the 2 different curry meals were okay and acceptable. Regarding the other 2 meals one was brought wrong as ordered a chicken burger from pub classics and a normal burger was supplied, this was questioned with the waitress which she disputed, and she proceeded to go away for the 2 curries we had ordered and on returning with them asked "well what have you decided about the burger" I responded with there is nothing to decide as you have brought the wrong meal and I know what I ordered, she then took the burger away with no comment.the other meal was fish and chips again from the pub classics and the fish looked like a "burnt offering" with the batter being black and obviously overdone, my wife did attempt to eat this but gave up as not enjoyable. Quite some time later when our other 3 meals were finished another lady brought the chicken burger and apologised for the error and asked if everything else was okay and I said well as you have asked the fish and chips was not very good and looked like a burnt offering to which to my shock responded well the Indian food is our speciality the the other food us " what it is" to which I was gob smacked. There was no offer of any sort of refund and at a total cost of £80 spent I can without doubt say yes this was a very dissapointing experience but based on other favourable reviews I have read maybe we were just a bit unlucky on our visit
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyFood was Amazing with a timely service and perfectly presented dishes. We will be back.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyWe absolutely coming here with our dog, Paddy. We've been here a few times now and it's always quality food, even when busy. It's a great idea having a relaxed pub atmosphere with a curry - and it's always incredible! Lovely thought out menu where you can choose your spice level with lots of sides & extras available. Even got standard pub grub as an options if someone doesn't like curry!! We're veggie but still lots of choice for us. The staff are always really welcoming and there's lots of beer/wine/cocktails choice as well. Highly recommended!
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyWe love coming here with our dog, Paddy. We've been a few times now and it's been fantastic every time. It's such a great idea to have a relaxed pub atmosphere with great curry and drinks. A pool table and darts on one side, 'restaurant' on the other. There is a lovely thought out menu where you can choose your spice level with a great choice of curries as well as lots of small plates and things like burgers and topped nans! We've only had the curries and Indian small plates so far but there's even options for people who don't like curry (traditional pub grub) - they even do a Sunday roast that we've not tried yet. We're veggie and there's lots of choice for us on the menu, with nice beer options as well as wines/cocktails. The food and service has been brilliant and it's definitely quickly become one of our regular options. We've eaten at a lot of curry places (guilty) and this is HIGHLY recommended!
