Love the Wheatsheaf at Beetham. Wonderful food. Great menu. Atmosphere and service very very good

Visited restaurant Saturday 24th June pleasantly greeted and found the staff excellent the drinks reasonably priced and the food very good, also good portions well presented. The restaurant itself was well decorated and clean and a pleasant place to be, I noticed it was very dog friendly and this made it a more homely and welcoming place. In a beautiful building very well restored. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

We were on holiday in the area and booked a meal one evening. The staff were very attentive and the menu was interesting and varied. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you.

Been many times always enjoyed the food staff very helpful

The pub was busy and so service was slow. When we got our coffees they were warm at best. When our meals arrived which was quite a bit later, I found the fish batter too greasy for my taste but my husband enjoyed his ham, eggs and chips although the eggs were not runny. Also a tad expensive in general

Love the Wheatsheaf, food is good in a great location. All the young staff are very well trained and engaging. Very good cask beer is a bonus.

Another great meal at the Wheatsheaf,we eat here around once a month on our way from Frodsham to the Lakes.Never disappointed would particularly recommend the fish and chips,no plastic food here all freshly cooked.

Absolutely superb couldn't fault in any way.

Service was fantastic, unfortunately quite a few menu options were not available, what was even more disappointing as we were eating at just after 6pm, so wouldn’t have expected 4 dishes to have sold out. The salmon dish was lovely, as was the fish and chips. However the falafel burger was disappointing. The burger was bland and the ciabatta bun was so hard, my daughter was unable to able to eat it.

Can't recommend this place enough, lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food.

Booked one night - pleasant room with spacious en-suite shower all spotlessly clean. Bed a little firm for me but husband quite happy - just personal taste. We had dinner - I had the potted shrimp (delicious) and the salmon which was nice. Husband had the black pudding followed by Cobb salad - chicken a little dry but otherwise good. Breakfast the following morning was lovely- nice to start with a fresh fruit plate and the breakfast itself perfectly cooked with more coffee offered. Overall very pleasant stay in a characterful old pub - staff all very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend- good location for accessing the area.
