Great hidden Greek taverna in the heart of Newcastle! Felt like we were back in Corfu or one of the Greek isles, especially the downstairs seating. Went for the restaurant week lunch meal for 2 and got some quality authentic Greek food and great friendly service. Highly recommend for a quality Greek meal with great ambience and service. Yamas!

Found this restaurant just before Christmas. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Food is always great and really good value for money. Been 4 or 5 times definitely be back

I feel very lucky to have this special restaurant on my doorstep. After hearing such good things about Boquerones I’ve been wanting to visit for years and it didn’t disappoint! Very good and friendly service and good value food and wine. Quite a few fried dishes, which I might not choose again, but plenty of other choices.

Fantastic service! We were a group of 20 people and it could have been chaos but everything went smoothly and it was a great night! Thank you again to all the staff. Food was delicious as always!

Called in for lunch with a friend as we had heard about the lunchtime special offer menu. Staff were wonderful so friendly ordered starters Humus and an Aubergine dip Chicken Shawarma and Ezmir meatballs mains and a bottle of house red The portions were large and beautifully presented The restaurant was really busy (1.30 pm on a Thursday ) but our food was served promptly as were the drinks the wine was delicious as was our food We weren't rushed and lingered drinking our wine The bill was just over £40 very good value We will definitely be back

Easy to find with welcoming staff. It was quite busy, so we were sat downstairs. It wasn’t the warmest, but it was a feeezing night. The starters were lovely, as was the main courses. Both decent size portions. For £35 a 2 course meal and drinks it was well worth it. We’ll definitely go back.

My husband and I had lunch at Kafeneon and it was lovely. The venue was nice, the staff were attentive without being in your face and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back

Favourite Greek restaurant in Newcastle. Great staff and service, lovely restaurant. The food wasn’t as good as it usually is but most likely because of restaurant week, tasted a bit bland apart from the fries. Usually great.
